What a cute little place. I was walking down along Robson and saw the store and decided to pop in. I wish this was closer to my house.
They have all sorts of stuff in there; kitchen gadgets, home decor, house ware and baby gifts. Even though it's a tiny little store I was still able to maneuver my big stroller around without bumping into things.
I found an oven thermometer I have been looking for there and a cute little own timer for my little child.
I was actually surprised to see Lodge cast irons there as well. As for the prices, they are pretty comparable to Cookworks or even couple dollars cheaper than Cookworks.
What a charming little store. -

Wrapping paper, cast iron skillets, stove-top espresso maker rubber rings, mojito muddler, bday cards, lip balm ... I have purchased all of the above at Chocolate Mousse and am always happy with my purchase. There is a great variety and quality of kitchenware but also lots of knick-knacks that you probably don't need but clearly want! Never walk in here without a plan of action or you will get sucked in!!! Nothing wrong with that of course but you have been forewarned!
The staff is always really helpful and they have those 'green' staplers without the actual staplers...love it. It's the small things with me.
Highly recommend it and if you are buying a gift for an out of towner be sure to grab a free box out of the bin by the door!Listed in: Yelp's 30 day Challenge

This is one of my staples going down lower Robson when heading down Denman, especially on nicer days outside. Although some of the things are pricey and too kitche for me in the sense that you use it once and never again just to say you have it (yogurt maker), there were some gems I got. I bough my 1 OZ loaf pans (very cute), my Wilton colors for baking (before I discovered Michael's), cute soap and the coolest tea set ever. Every time I walk in the store there is always something new, something cute and something that I put on a wish list. The staff are always friendly and laugh at my culinary jokes.

What a fun store! It is called Chocolate Mousse Kitchen but it is so much more - kitchen, housewares, home decor, giftware, toiletries and stationery. It is visually enticing from the street and only gets better when you cross the threshold.
But for the fact that I was shopping with my husband, I could have easily spent an hour just browsing at all of the fabulously eclectic mix of stuff. Their buyer has a discerning eye and there are very few misses in their offerings. The prices also seem quite reasonable and we ended up purchasing a small carpet for not a vast sum.
I will need to come back soon either alone or with like shopping-minded friends so I can really log some time here looking at all of the cool things. -

Great little shop with lots of unique items for the kitchen and home. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The store is packed with products and has an odd split level layout, so make sure you wander all the way to the back of the store and around the perimeter.
Perfect shop if you're looking for a quick housewarming gift or birthday present! -

This is one of my favourite stores in the West End for last minute gifts and people who are hard to buy for in general. They also have a great selection of shower curtains and shower caps.
I don't cook, and I don't even like food yet I still always seem to find something I *need* in this wee store, and that's no bull. -

The Mousse owners love unique giftware and kitchenware as much as their customers do. They carefully handpick each item in stock, and keep their markup low. If you purchase wrapping paper with your gifts, they'll giftwrap for free (just don't show up at 4:55pm on Christmas Eve).
You'll hear mainly soft jazz and new age-type music on the stereo, a welcome relief from the deafening and inane club music typical of most Vancouver stores.
Each Christmas there's a different window display that's worth the trip. Last year it was a singing wreath, with lipstick and eyelashes, belting old Motown hits (A-wreath-a Franklin).
Whether you need kitchen essentials for yourself, or presents for folks who have everything, this is the place to go. -

I cannot count how many times I needed something a little unique for the kitchen, bathroom or the condo and could not find the quality and style of what I needed from the department stores, drugstores or even the mega national home store chains.
I walked by Chocolate Mousse on my way home from running errands yesterday and decided to walk in to check it out. As soon as I stepped in, I realized how this little store survived on a quiet section of Robson Street for so many years and remembered why I picked this place to purchase my first kitchen accessory (a stainless steel salad mixing bowl) when I first moved into my condo in the neighbourhood over 10 years ago.
Despite the size of the split level store, it is packed with quality and stylish accessories and gadgets for your kitchen, bathroom, and, of course, the upcoming holiday. What you will find at Chocolate Mousse is the uniqueness, quality and style of their merchandise over the quantity that you may find from IKEA. It is also a perfect place to find something (like a host / hostess gift) affordable for someone who doesn't really need anything else for his/her home. -

I LOVE this store and have been selecting basics as well as "gems" for myself and friends for years! The owners are the most lovely people who truly care about their customers. Fabulous cookware, baby gifts, enchanting tablecloths...eclectic but also has the best of the basics for cooking. LOVE it.

This place is pretty fantastic for cooking enthusiasts but frankly, the reason why it left a good impression with me is that I found this place by happenstance. I was strolling along and not looking for anything particular when I stumbled into this store. What a find! When I was browsing around, all I could think about was what great gifts they would make and the consistent murmur of, "Oh! Such-and-such would love this!" under my breath. Chocolate Mousse is cute and hip, without trying to be cute and hip.

I wrote a review this past Christmas about the great stuff they have at Chocolate Mousse. This store is great anytime - excellent for finding gifts, cards and gift wrap, very good baby gifts, lots of colourful and modern tablecloths and place mats, good collection of cookbooks including small inexpensive ones that are soft cover and a good array of hardcover cookbooks, good place to stock your kitchens with very useful gadgets, cake decorating supplies, decorator throw pillows, picnic baskets, nice selection of coffee mugs, tea pots, limited amount of dishes but what they have is beautiful and not found elsewhere. This shop is very unique in its inventory which is always changing. A real gem in the West End on Robson Street about a block away from Capers and new Safeway near Denman Street.

From the outside, this wee store seems tiny, but when you step in the doors it opens up, long and filled with a wide array of just about everything to do with the kitchen...and cards...and cosmetics! It may appear random but they have some goodies in here that are just good enough to save a paycheque for. Massive fondue pots (if done right, fondue is the best dinner party meal...) and Le Creuset pots in snazzy colours and quite a few choices are hard to pass up. You have to dig for those gems, mostly through a mass of the aforementioned cards and cosmetics, to cupcake liners and aprons. It would take some time to get through everything here but you could find some treasures.

This store was a pleasant surprise for me to stumble upon as I wandered in here on a very rainy day looking for a birthday card. Although this store calls itself Kitchenware etc., it is the etcetera part that was most fun for me to explore. Chocolate Mousse carries a delightful collection of stationery including greeting cards and boxed cards, whimsical items for your home, some lovely toiletries and a lot of quality kitchen ware. The aesthetics in this store are a little on the cluttered side, but that does nothing to detract from the charming array of products for your home. If you enjoy a bit of whimsy, you'll like it here.
