Mmmmmm.... chocolate :)
This place rocks. I can't believe I've never been here till this weekend... Probably because I've pledged my loyalty to Bernard Callebaut's chocolates :) This was a wonderful stop - friendly customer service and chocolate quality is excellent.. Pricing is comparable to Bernard Callebaut and other higher end chocolatiers.
The focus is mainly on dark chocolate, but presented in unique packages that you can eat (how much better does that get when you can eat the cup/box that your chocolate comes in!)
Nice assortments of fillings and textures - chocolates are sold by weight here. I highly recommend Chocolate Arts - whether you like pralines, fruity fills, etc... there's something for even the pickiest chocolate snob! -

shared an ice cream bar $4+, taste very good and fresh - not too sweet overall. Not chocolate fan, so no review on them. Unless you are looking for it, you would not know this a retail store quietly waiting for you ....

Just as Butter smells like its namesake, so does Chocolate Arts. Walk in and eat in the wafts of chocolate.
Our first stop in the store was the chocolate-tasting station near the back. Yes, for free you can sample chocolate with varying percentages of cocoa. Study hard, I advise, because when you head over to the chocolate/truffle counter these names (that look like Mayan/Mexican origin) will be laced into the product descriptions.
There are many kinds of chocolates to chose from at the main counter. From vegan chocolate and dark chocolate with fleur de sel to complex flavors I can't begin to remember, you'll find it here. I paid for my chocolates by weight and I am presently enjoying my Rhubarb Rhapsody for breakfast. (Yes mom, I had cereal too.) The rich chocolatey outer-shell gives way to a tangy filling that is subtle and perfect.
Wow. Just eating that chocolate upgraded my review from four to five stars. No questions asked. -

I'm not the hugest chocolate snob in the world, but I think if you're going to head to one Chocolatiers in Vancouver, this ought to be the place.
They stand out mostly for the fact that they really focus on the in house chocolates. Everything is a bit more expensive than other shops but you're getting really artisan chocolate with a lot of care both in taste and design. There's some amazing looking stuff and I'm sure it tastes as good as it looks.
Also, it should be noted since everyone I know seems to hold dark chocolate to the highest esteem, that a lot of their specialties err on the dark side. So you can at least claim what you're eating is heart healthy before you consume mass quantities of it. -

What's better than a pair of Jimmy Choo stilettos? Why, as pair of Jimmy Choo stilettos made of delectable truffle-filled chocolate, of course!
Chocolate Arts on West Fourth Avenue is owned and operated by creative chocolatier Greg Hook, who's specialties include the Rhubarb Rhapsody truffle (rhubarb and dark chocolate, $1.25 each) and the Cristina truffle (white chocolate, butter-cream ganache and lemon liqueur, $0.90 each).
With chocolate creations in a variety of shapes and flavours, there's something for every choc-a-holic in Chocolate Arts. -

I go here whenever I want to treat a friend to a the best tasting chocolates in Vancouver.
The attention to detail, and the long lingering taste of each hand-made chocolate makes each mouthful a delight.
Purdey's has nothing on CA. -

Chocolate Arts is not cheap, but it has AMAZING chocolate!
I go here whenever I need a hostess gift. The medium chocolate bowl (a bowl made of solid chocolate) filled with chocolates is my go-to thank you gift. They also have beautiful chocolate sculptures (although I tend to shy away from these because the two times I've bought them they've been cracked by the time I get them home despite my being very careful).
I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 b/c they tend to stick to fairly standard traditional chocolates and truffles. This isn't the place to go for an exciting cutting edge chocolate treat. Also while the young counter staff are extremely helpful, the older woman (who presumably runs the shop) can be fairly gruff and unaccomodating (i.e. putting extra wrapping on the chocolate mask because it's being given to someone who's travelling). Still the chocolate is worth it. -

I fell in love with Chocolate Arts before ever setting foot in the place. A client gave some of their fine chocolates to my department at work and we all fought over who would get to finish the box. These chocolates are definitely worth fighting for!
I went into the shop quickly after tasting their chocolates and I quickly found out why they are so divine. You get what you pay for! Phew, prices are pretty darn steep, but it's worth it. Even if you can only afford a couple of their decadent treats ... you won't be disappointed. -
