This is an amazing chocolatier. I wish I could meet this lady Helene Pappas and tell her to give me her chocolate secrets. Well worth the visit if you are in the Vancouver area and want some great chocolate (even though you will need to get on a ferry for an hour to get there). I really wish they would mail chocolates too, I called them today and they said they only will deliver/mail to the Victoria area. Also I could not find any website.
I wanted to comment on what Lynne said, I do not believe they are part of the Bernard Callebaut Chocolatiere stores, unless they changed ownership. I believe that the ownership is a sole proprietor not associated with any other chocolate business as read by these articles.

Everyone should stop by this place and have a bit of chocolate no matter the expense. It's chocolate with earthy notes, yet smooth. It has been the best chocolate I have ever tasted.
Edit: I see Lynn has removed her comment. -

Great selection of wonderful chocolatey treats. Very good chocolate confections, although no trip is complete without a trip to Rogers's for some Victoria creams!

The old man who runs this place sure knows how to make me cream my pants.
Best hot chocolate I've ever had -- Swiss Miss with crappy fake tiny marshmallows.. GTFO!
The handmade chocolates are all delicious as well. Bars of chocolate next to register are categorized by cocoa content, win. -

This is my place of sinful pleasures ;o). Run by one of the former owners of Hilltop Chocolates in Saanichton, which closed due to retirement a few years ago. That was a very sad day. Luckily Chocolat Chocolaterie de Victoria uses the same recipes. The best chocolates I have ever had, by far. Always made fresh. I like that they are not too sweet, just right. The truffles are light and creamy. The flavours are incredible. The blend of texture and flavour is simply perfect. There are always some new creations to be tried. They also make some baked goods that are simply fantastic. Quality is consistently outstanding. Service always friendly. I love this place. Except perhaps that they have spoiled all other chocolate for me :).

It's a fancypants Chocolate place that's perfect for picking up truffles for that special person on their birthday, your anniversary, Valentine's Day, or Administrative Professionals Day.
They have a number of different varieties, such as a saffron truffle, and a cinnamon truffle, all with an intricate, but not stuffy appearance. Every piece I have tried has been delicious.
They also serve a number of cakes, coffees, and chocolate drinks, none of which I have indulged in. -

I am not someone that knows a lot about chocolates and sweets, so I'm not going to be able to mention the finer points of the chocolate they produce here. What I will say is that for $5 I picked up three truffles that were all made in-house. The service was friendly and the inside of the store is cute. And they have chili hot chocolate and chocolate with chili in it!
This place has always been kind of like a unicorn to me. It was recommended that I try it out years ago but it always seems to be closed when we stop by. But the two times it has been open I've definitely enjoyed my stops here. The chocolate isn't mind-blowing but it's pretty dang good and a decent value.
I'll be back to try out some more of their creations. -

DH and I know chocolate...love chocolate....and search for great chocolate wherever we go. Our favorite is Michael Recchiuti, where 13 oz of molded chocolates is currently $83, not including tax. We DON'T like European dark sweet chocolate, preferring bittersweet instead.
But Chocolat Chocolatiere De Victoria is the only store we've come across in 40 yrs that offers a truly fine, dark sweet chocolate. It's fresh, which Leonidas, and Richart Paris usually aren't, and less sweet than any other European-style chocolatier we've tried.
The flavors are unusual (their bergamot is as good as Recchiuti's), clean, and balanced, as fine chocolate should be (and Vosges isn't).
The hot chocolate and various espresso drinks are top-notch. The owner makes the espresso drinks and he's a skilled barista. They are served with a small square of plain dark sweet chocolate, a charming touch.
I'm just sorry they don't have a website. We were in the middle of a long trip and couldn't bring any chocolates back with us. -

Fan of the thai lemongrass truffle...also the spicy hot cocoa, ...and the grand marnier truffles,...I can go on and on! The mocha was delicous! The pepper truffle was interesting. THE STRAWBERRY WHITE CHOCOLATE IS MY FAVORITE! I come here for birthday, Valentine's Day, tried to come around Christmas and New Years, but it was closed...come by for a quick drink or even an ice cream covered in hard chocolate during the summer. I love the chocolate torte's there. Once I had a really fantastic rum ball and I'm a true childhood rum ball fan. This is the best chocolate I have ever had! I even gave a box of these chocolates when I gave my fiance his engagement ring!

Best hot chocolate in my 63 years. Also, when buying their chocolates by the piece, don't miss the "Samurai" (wasabi and candied ginger ganache).
