Chicken Chalet is good at one thing - take a wiiiillllldddd guess. Hint: It clucks.
CC not the most attractive food stall in the Quay, and that's probably why most people overlook it - I know it did. Trying to find healthy options around the Quay isn't easy - and it wasn't until I started getting bored of my usual places that I decided to give the place a try.
It appears to be a family business, and the folks that run the place are super friendly and always willing to offer up a sample of their chicken to try. I ordered a roasted leg of chicken (choice of bbq, herb, or soya glazed), with a side of veggies. What a surprise - while the veggies were nothing to rave about, the chicken was superb! Perfectly moist, tender, well seasoned...and did I mention ginormous? With tax the meal came out to about $5.50 - amazing!
They also make fresh homemade chicken soup, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. If they could improve their side dishes they'd be a solid 4-stars. Even so, it's now a staple in my lunch rotation as it hits everything I'm looking for - tasty, affordable, healthy, and super friendly service.
