We have ridden our bikes on this trail about 5 or 6 times, and like it.  What we do is drive to Chester and park our car at the railway station tourist information spot.  There is a really nice park there where you can have a picnic on the tables, and also you can go into the tourist centre and get more information about this trail.  That is how we came to know about it.  There is a good pdf on line which has the brochure in it.  This brochure explains how the trail runs, and I recommend you get a copy.

So we park our car at the railway station and get on our bikes heading west.  The first stop for us is at Marriott's Cove where we take a break from the trail and travel down the back roads looking at the houses on the water.  Then we get back on the trail.  You ride over some bridges, through the woods, pass a playground and cross the highways.  The next major landmark on the trail is the Gold River bridge which is awesome in our opinion.

After the Gold River bridge we keep going and ride as far as Western Shore.  We get off the trail at a side street, ride down to the water and take a break at the little restaurant there called Island View Restaurant, also known to the locals as the Green Canteen.  Here we can use the washrooms and refill the water bottles and have a snack on the tables have a look at the islands and watch the sea gulls.  Rest and get ready for return trip.

To ride back from the Green Canteen to the Railway Station in Chester takes about 1.5 hours I would say.  The trail is a little bit rocky at times, it would be better if it were crusher dust or asphalt, but you can manage.  Once I saw a few deer on this trail.  It is a great ride, and we will be back again for sure!
