FANTASTIC breakfast spot, and finally one on this side of Victoria. The owner and staff are great, the food is fantastic, and they aim to please. Menu is creative and trends toward pleasing real foodies. Great place to go with a friend or even larger groups, as the flexibly-arranged interior works well for either. Before you drive downtown, try this gem once, and you'll be back.

I discovered this place here on Yelp when I wanted to see places near my house. Turns out Cherries is AMAZING!!! We tried one time before to go and discovered that Cherries closes on Sunday to be with her family. While a pain in the ass for us, we agreed that this showed an owner who cares, and that was kind of cool.
When we finally got to go, it was worth the wait. the food was incredible and you could taste the freshness and pride in the food. I know that sounds hoaky, but it's true. We had a homemade cinnamon bun as our appy to share and it was excellent. The coffee is awesome as well, which is super important to our family when it comes to breakfast. The food was great. I had a breakfast sandwich and the bread was so fresh, you could tell. The flavors were incredible together and it was really reasonable priced.
I loved everything about this place. It's not a chain and you can tell by some of the details, but for me, that's what makes it even better. A little out fo the way for you downtown dwellers, but frankly I'm glad, we sort of want to keep it our little Saanich secret. -

We were visiting from Seattle and stopped in a few minutes after 4, the owner was there and waved us in to order some coffee and pastries. The coffee was excellent, she is a total coffee snob which is an awesome thing for a coffee shop owner to be! The pastries were baked in house and were very tasty. The owner was very personable, we chatted with her for quite a while, and it was very nice of her to invite us in even though they had closed already!
We will definitely return the next time we are in Victoria! -

It's hard to find a good breakfast that doesn't contain eggs... but this place had awesome breakfast sliders that did the trick. The place was bright, clean, and open and the staff were very friendly.
