Review from Mike G.
This salon has amazing staff that is very friendly and highly skilled. I would always reccomend this salon. Prices are higher than I would usually pay but well worth it. Ask for Aimee for a great haircut!

Review from Meredith K.
Vancouver, BC
Fed up with my uneven, mousy hair colour, I called Chatters to set up an appointment for a single-process colour. The receptionist was able to fit me in that same day! I love when this happens.
Spencer was my stylist. He took the time to educate me a bit about colour theory and we arrived at a plan for my colour. I thought he would just slap on a single colour for my entire hair length, but he actually mixed up 2 or 3 colours to make sure that my damaged ends and my previously-uncoloured roots ended up the same shade. Spencer was great company to chat to (important if you have to spend the next hour with someone!) and his coworker Nicole was likewise friendly and helpful in grabbing me magazines while I was stuck in the chair.
But the real highlight? The finished product. Lordy, my hair has never looked that good. I have no idea what he used on it (I should really go find out and buy a lot of it) but it was the silkiest, smoothest texture I've ever experienced. And straight as an arrow. And he didn't even *look* at a flatiron. Spencer, you did a beautiful job.
A relaxing afternoon with friendly and entertaining people, a bit of pampering, and beautiful rich brown glossy hair at the end? for $80? Done and done! Can't wait to be back.
Oh, the practicals:
Parking is not a problem. Getting there on transit is. The salon is also a beauty supply store, and they have a wide selection of hair care products, tools, nail supplies, bath stuff, et cetera.
Hours? Unsure. Probably 10 to 5, or so. They're open 7 days a week. -
Review from Jenni B.
*** To state first, I have not had services done here, so this review is based on product***
Newly reblondified after stints as both a brunette and a redhead, I needed some purple shampoo and blonde friendly conditioner to maintain my new highlights. This Chatters is an outlet, so I had to check it out to stock up.
The product area is large - there is so much hair product funness I didn't know where to start. The first fist pump arrived when I spotted a bulk size bottle of my AG Silver Fox shampoo (it is for blonde and silver hair) on sale for $23. To put this in perspective, the last little bottle I bought at a salon was $20. And this one is like 3 times the size.
I had a good look around; they have all the cool hair products, including my personal favorites: Bed Head (for styling products), Redken (best shampoo/conditions to fine/colored/damaged hair), CHI (strengthening and shine syrums) and my new favorite the Sexy Hair line (shampoo and conditioners). They also have pro hair tools, on sale at this location, and a good nail section.
The staff was really friendly. I was there for a bit and they periodically checked in to make sure I was doing okay. I'm one of the shoppers who hates being bothered but will inquire if I have questions. They never hovered (which really pisses me off when I shop).
So, I got:
- Bulk bottle of AG Silver Fox shampoo (as mentioned)
- Bulk bottle of Redken Blonde Glam conditioner, regular price $40 on sale for $20 (again, a small bottle usually runs $15 to 20).
- Sexy Hair Chocolate Soymilk Shampoo, $12 reduced from $17
- Hot Tools small hair clips, pack of 12, I think they were $4 or so)
- Clear plastic non-snag elastics, pack of 300, $3
The Sexy Hair Chocolate shampoo was an unnecessary buy - but it was on sale and my god it smells like chocolate. I asked one of the girls working there if she had tried it because I hadn't used Sexy Hair shampoo or conditioner and she had very positive feedback (it's a light shampoo, good for my fine/colored hair). I almost bought a bottle of CHI Silk Infusion (on sale for $7 from $13) but I have been stock piling on CHI and figured I was doing enough damage.
Now, this was last week so the total has been exactly forgotten, it was in the $75 dollar range after tax. I know this sounds like a lot - but the AG shampoo will last me up to one year (you don't need to use a lot of it), the Sexy Hair probably 3 or 4 months (I rotate it with the AG since the purple shampoo used each wash can tint your hair), the conditioner probably 6 months, the clips until I lose them (PS: they hold hair aside well when styling), and the elastics, well they will last for 300 hair ties.
The only thing that loses a star for me, was while they do have a fantastic selection of straightening irons across different price points, they curling iron selection was weak and I am in the market for a 1.5" iron.
If you like salon hair products and tools, but not the salon prices I would definately recommend going out of your way to stock up here!
