OMG! A positive salon review on Yelp! They almost don't exist! They're the Snuffleupagus of Yelp Reviews.
I made an appointment for this place at 6 pm today, and almost missed it, thanks to traffic. I called ahead to let them know I might be running late, and the girl on the other end told me it would be fine. As long as I wasn't over 15 minutes late.
I never sprinted so fast across Chinook Centre in my life. I got there at 6:05 and a cheerful and pretty (and tall!) lady named Shea took me in the back to assess my haircape. I pretty much gave her free reign, which she took with delight and savvy. Shea knows her stuff and wasn't afraid to make suggestions that would make my hair look better. She also gave me tips on how to keep my hair looking soft and shiny during the long winter months, all without product peddling (she recommended mixing some apple cider vinegar with my shampoo and doing a weekly clarifying rinse).
When she was done, I was in love with my new do. Oh hello there, pretty almost lady in the mirror! The best part was that she gave me a style that looks modern, yet won't keep me in the bathroom for 2 hours every morning trying to make it look like "how the salon did it." Love it. Love it, love it, love it.

The Chatters salon on the main floor of Chinook Centre is made up of wall to wall hair care (and a touch of bath stuff). If there is anything, ANYTHING at all hair related there is a decent to excellent chance you can find it here. I was looking for a specialty product and I dropped in while I was at Chinook anyways.
The sales girl was super friendly and asked if I needed help right away. I was in a rush, so it was great to get some help. She obviously knew her stuff, recommended a product for me (that was cheaper than some of the others), and told me why it was the best compared to others. Perfect. I'm totally satisfied. A quick warning: most of the haircare is salon quality and so carries a decent price tag.
