Charlie's is one of the few places in town that makes chocolates with Malitol. They are more expensive than the regular chocolate but if your diabetic its wonderful! I try and stay away from candy but sometimes you can't help yourself!

My best Childhood memories growing up are surrounding by this Candy store of Boundary near Canada Way.
It's not a gourmet chocolate store by any means. Most of their chocolates are made with the standard cheap milk chocolate base.
What makes this place isn't the chocolate but the store itself. You can get chocolates in every shape for any occasion. They all look fun to give, receive and just to treat yourself if you just care about flash and not quality.
Charlie the store owner is really sweet and he dresses the part to. Coming into the store is about seeing Charlie and staring at the milk chocolate river (you heard me, they have a milk chocolate review).
I mostly come here for the chocolate making molds which work great for soap, chocolate for cupcakes and other culinary endeavors. I find their supplies are very reasonably priced. You even get fancy packing materials for your chocolates for gifts.
The other staff members are really sweet. It must be from eating all the chocolate!Listed in: Time of Month Chocolate

did not buy a piece to try out, so no comment on freshness but had a sample truffle and it was OK bit too sweet. Met Mr Charlie in his full attire, he was friendly as well as his staff. yes got some diabetic candy (sorbital) in choices of gummy, snake, and candies in various hardness and various shapes. at $12/ 1/2lb for most, I suppose they are comparable .... well, give it a try ...

Ah c'mon Chuck. What happened?
The box of chocolates I bought were all stale, gritty and were way too sweet. I took a nibble of each one, hoping that the next morsel would be worthwhile. It was like trying to eat a box of mini Snickers bars. Ended up throwing out the box.
This place has all the materials to satisfy your inner Oompa Loompa, but you can find better raw materials elsewhere. Their chocolate is burnt, improperly tempered and not at all smooth.
My golden ticket says head on over to Thomas Haas. Sorry Charlie. -

ok!... I know your all getting excited because YES folks we have our very own Charlies Chocolate factory in Funcouver! Complete with chocolate river! So remember that scene in the original willy wonka movie when Charlie goes running down the street after finding the last golden ticket? well that was me when I found out this place existed... so off I went! I jumped out of the car ran up to the factory door and burst into the store with a start.... .... .... ... where are all the EFFIN oompa loompa's I blurted out. What the eff bomb, this "river" is more like a trickle ... where is mixing fountain? where is all the lickable wallpaper that tastes like snaasberries?? where... is... is... the EVERLASTING GOBSTOPPERS.. WAAAAAAAAAAAAA! ok I digress these are not the rantings of a 32 year old man are they?
however if you are into making chocolate and need any possible mold you could want, this is the place for you. They also are an excellent place to get party favours for your wedding as well. -

I looked for chocolate molds everywhere in Vancouver and couldn't find them anywhere but here! And they had so many different kinds! And so many options with packaging and wrapping your newly made chocolates. I could totally go nuts here if chocolate making becomes my niche. Especially for personalized gifts! And the sample chocolate I tried was of amazing quality so I would totally purchase their ready made chocolates if I ever needed some.
It's also great for personalized wedding favors!

Whether or not you actually buy anything, this is a super fun store to visit. The holiday displays are always incredible, and when you think about, there are an awful lot of chocolate-related holidays throughout the year - Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's, Easter... And what's not to love about a chocolate fountain?
For every occasion and every reason, Charlie's has a chocolate to give. They come in all shapes and types. If you want to make a Christmas diorama out of chocolates or create a one-of-a-kind advent calendar, here's your store. It's mind blowing, really. And then there's the intoxicating scent of chocolate in the air, as somewhere behind the glass, the glorious stuff is being made and poured into molds.
Charlie's is definitely a must-do for chocolate addicts and kitschaholics alike. -

OMG!!! That's really all I have to say about this place! Ok that's not all but holy hanna I was in chocolate heaven. We have driven by here many times and today we decided to go in and I can't wait to go back!
They have chocolate and hard candy moulds and I hope to be able to make my own chocolate this year, like i used to with my mom when I was a kid.
The great thing is that they have chocolates available for every occasion and event in a persons life and if they don't have it then, it can be made. On top of all the chocolate there is also the candy which one can not miss out on either.
Today I came out with rum balls (the really good, small bite size ones), rum ball truffle, raspberry truffle and chocolate covered raisins. I was in a chocolate coma! I will be coming here to pick up those boxes of christmas chocolates lol.Listed in: The 5 Spot

LOVE this place! The chocolate is excellent quality, and the choices are fantastic for any occasion. The employees are very friendly and helpful.
