Super busy with a constant hum, this tiny place serves up a nice stack. Portions are generous, the wait staff friendly and charismatic, and prices within reason.

If you're looking for a quiet place to sip your coffee and read the paper this isn't it. If you can outlast the inevitable line out front and are looking for some honest food, give this place a try.

I remember eating here as a child (I have an aunt and uncle who live nearby).  So when I was craving breakfast, I convinced hubby to come here.  We had been here once before(years ago).  Unfortunately, nothing has changed. Mediocre, bland food that tastes like it directly out of 1960 (overprocessed and plasticy come to mind).  Hubby had Chicken fried steak and I had the strawberry blintz (with a hot cocoa , coffee added it was $24 for breakfast). Felt like if Banquet made TV Dinners for breakfast this is what you would get.......

Won't be coming back anytime soon...............

I dined here this morning after reading good reviews on here. This place didn't live up to the 4 star rating. I was a bit...  disappointed...
Upon arrival to this cozy little restaurant your greeted by very limited parking, but that's not really a deal breaker to me. We put down our name and waited.  I ordered the French toast and my gf ordered the hash brown omlette (popular in reviews). Both were very plain by themselves, but ok smothered in condiments.... I don't think this should be required... especially for French toast...

On a positive note, while quirky, the waitstaff was friendly and the prices were reasonable.

I probably won't return but if I do I will try some pancakes... I can't say I would recommend this place.

If you are looking for a local breakfast spot then this is it!  Weekends this place is packed.  I try to go at odd times because if I'm going I'm usually pretty hungry.  The portions are very good but not too much.  They have many pancake choices and wide selection of the standard eggs/ham/sausage etc.  Food is fresh and very good.  The overall quality is just great.  The service is great and they really seem to care.  Always a favorite spot in my book!

Once again a place I found on Yelp based on location and looking for a breakfast place.  I was hoping the 35 minute wait would be worth it and it was!  My 2 and 6 year old girls loved it!  My husband and I enjoyed it very much as well.  The eggs benedict is very good (and I'm kind of a critic on this dish). The kids' portions were the perfect size.
Our server was a wonderful Italian woman who was fantastic.  Simple little hole in the wall, but definitely a good breakfast!

Stopped by Chace's for a traditional morning breakfast with Chicken Fried Steak, Biscuit and Gravy, Corned Beef Hash and coffee.   Our coffee mug was never be empty as they checked back often to make sure of that!   I was surprised with the way they cooked the corned beef as a patty; pretty good I must say.  Nothing to complain about, the food was prepared the old fashioned way with no gimmicks.

All in all, they stick to the fundamentals - quick service, tasty food and fair prices!  Works for me every time.

I want to love this hole-in-the-wall, traditional-feel breakfast place since we could practically walk here from our home. We tried it several times hoping each time would be a better experience but we've given up because it's mediocre at best. As many reviews noted, the menu is limited, nothing really healthy or great tasting. Everything on the plate is brown.

I have been here several times and we decided to go on the way to the airport and I will not go back. I had forgotten how limited the menu is, if you love pancakes it may be a good spot but the rest of the menu is ho-hum.

I ordered the hash brown omelet and took most of it home for the teenager who eats anything. It was tasteless and I could not figure out where the eggs were and they put that yucky sliced cheese on top. My husband had bacon, eggs and hashbrowns and said it was edible. Not a rave review.

The staff (except for the snarly one who took my name) was friendly and fast and made sure we did not run out of coffee.

Sorry, far too many great breakfast places to bother going here again.

I don't know how I've lived in this area for 1.5 years without knowing this place existed. It's kind of an oddly situated little place, and parking is not very plentiful. I'm sure on the weekends it can be a hassle. We went on Tuesday morning at about 10:30 and had no trouble parking and there was no wait.

Let's do this. First, let me just say you know you're in a good place when the waitress gives you a hug like she's known you forever. Seriously. Second, this is your classic, old school diner. If you want an organic selection of fresh fruit, take your hoity-toity ass elsewhere. You come here because you want PANCAKES, with a side of something fried. Third,  if you don't want to make eye contact with people at the neighboring table go hide in a dark corner somewhere else.

This place is cozy. The service is fast and friendly. The food is inexpensive and delicious. The pancakes have the perfect texture. Your coffee mug will never be empty. Your belly will be full and happy when you go.

Hash Brown Omelet, Hash Brown Omelet, Hash Brown Omelet.

The Hash Brown Omelet is just about the best breakfast item in Bellevue.

    Starving? Hash Brown Omelet.
    Hungover? Hash Brown Omelet.
Want something delicious? Hash Brown Omelet.

One might wonder, how do you eat a Hash Brown Omelet? It's quite simple - smother it with salsa and sour cream, grab a fork, and dig in!

Chace's also has some other great diner-style menu items to choose from. I typically pair my Hash Brown Omelet with a nice old-fashioned hot chocolate and a juice.

It's cheap, good, and easy to get to. The only down-side is it is really busy on the weekends and both seating and parking are very limited.

Food is good but I'm over rated.  The service sucks, the help has been there a long time and they act like they're above you.  I called in an order, they accepted it and when I went to pick it up the head waitress bitched me out and asked if I thought it was fair that everyone else waiting for their food.  She continued by asking if I thought I was special and should be able to pick up an order before the rest of the patrons waiting to eat inside.

I simply replied, if you don't want me to come in a pick up food then don't take my order over the phone.  Also, nobody need attitude from the service.  There food isn't good enough for that.

Nothing special here.  Can make most of their stuff at home and better.

I'm lost in Microsoft world.. and what I need breakfast!
Feels like I'm on the set of Twin Peaks. And if you remember that then you are showing your age.. tsk tsk tsk
    lulz

Seriously, this place is a solid breakfast spot... though it is sort of off putting to be surrounded by so many computer folks both young and old. I'm not even here for anything of the sort.. purely vacation. At least I am... my partner in crime not so much. I guess that makes me an accomplice and by the very definition not on vacation. At least she fed me. Got the sampler of the different pancakes. Had a handful of different pancakes: a potato, buttermilk, wheat and I forget what else. And I think she had something to do with german sausages... lulz

Our server was great and very informative and took great care of us. And she kept the coffee coming.. and man did I need it. It's cold out there!

If you are looking for a greasy dive type meal, then this is the place for you.  There is no pretension here. It is a small family style place that has been around for quite a while, you can tell by the old pictures, including senior pictures, faded news articles, old photos of the place.

No, there are no real healthy choices.  Yes, the place is small, but is quaint and a nice break from the gentrification of Bellevue.  The food is good for what it is.

I have no complaints over all, except for the waitress pulling my pony-tail on the way out, but what the hell, she reminded me of one of the waitresses I used to work with when I was a teenager washing dishes at a greasy spoon in a logging town.

When I think of Bellevue I don't usually think of homey diners, but Chace's has proved me wrong.

It's a hole-in-the-wall sort of place right next to a mini-strip mall. I'd almost missed it, just like how I almost missed that they had parking right behind the restaurant (or if you miss it, I suppose you could park in the strip mall lot).

But it's a nice cheery-feeling escape from the gloom and raindrops outside. The interior shows the wood, there's little crayons for kids to play with and on the wall next to where I was sitting was a plaque that talked about how the table was a first-date site for a couple that eventually got married. Awwww......

The menu is basic breakfast food and I couldn't break the time-tested tradition of going with pancakes. If a restaurant has an item in it's name, I think that it's fair that you go with that first. The pancakes were of the slightly fluffy variety, you know, the type that expands a little bit when you put the syrup on.

So the pancakes qualify as a filling meal and you may even need to take leftovers home here. And nearly as important, the prices are reasonable, so you won't feel like vomiting them back up after you receive the check.

I've been here a couple times, and they are consistenty mediocre.  The hash browns are good when salted, the French toast strangely spongy-sweet yet bland and greasy, and the eggs (over easy) are ... eggs.  Don't order the grapefruit juice, as it carries that vomit-scented undertone found in so many old cans of white grapefruit juice from the store.  Their tea is considerably larger than most diners' metal tins and comes in an actual teapot, which is a nice touch.  I haven't tried their lunch menu so cannot say anything about that.  Overall, the breakfast food is tolerable (less the French toast and grapefruit juice), the service adequate, and the prices diner-standard.

It has been a while since I lived in the Seattle area, but I was writing a review for a popular breakfast spot in Hawaii (which I found disappointing) and realized that the only breakfast joint that deserves the hype is Chace's.

The place is always packed, so expect to wait.  The food is pricey, but worth it.  How special can breakfast food be?  Well, their sour cream waffles are to die for!  They are so buttery they almost melt in your mouth.  I have never been able to find anything similar anywhere else.  Their potato pancakes are delsih!  Their eggs are fried in butter, not oil.  The bacon is flat and crispy, just how I like it.  Everything I've had is perfection.  Mmmm...I am getting hungry thinking about it.

Next time I am back in the Emerald City, I have to go back to Chace's!

As my traveling companion said," if you don't come here when you're in Seattle" we both agree that you just missed out on an amazing breakfast experience of a lifetime! The smell outside is the first thing to get you, but, it doesn't end there! The food is just simply amazing! Everything cooked to perfection! The service is great as well. It was so nice we did it twice! On 2 different days of course. What can I say? It's the best experience for breakfast that I've had in many many many years!

Cramped seating. Tacky ambience. overly priced and limited menu. overbearing waitress. was there ANYTHING we liked about this place? Will never eat here again.

Took my wife and son here along with my sister and brother who were visiting from out of town. They wanted a traditional breakfast meal. This restaurant (surprisingly) had a 4 star rating so we thought we would give it a try.

We were seated pretty quickly but then were greeted by an overbearing waitress who didn't really listen to our requests. Seemed in a hurry or anxious, didn't have a professional manner about her whatsoever. Though I think her intentions were good, she ended up making me anxious and it was not a calm, enjoyable experience.

Brother asked for a veggie omelet but the waitress informed him the ONLY veggies in house were tomatoes and onions. So don't go here expecting any healthy options. There is absolutely no fruit on the menu or oatmeal either which is one of my favorites.

I did not receive pure maple syrup with my pancakes as the waitress said I would but got the generic sugary syrup instread. Plus I found a long hair in my meal which quickly suppressed my appetite, to say the least. While they offer traditional breakfast items, they are overpriced and barely mediocre. I could make a better breakfast at home!

We chose this place in hopes of finding a unique breakfast joint other than the chain restaurants available. Cannot figure out why people on Yelp rave about this place. It was a complete letdown.

I am not crazy about this place.  It's so small and crowded for no good reason.

    Food:  Nothing special
Service:  Friendly and sometimes over friendly
Environment:  Since it is so small with the crowd, my ears hurt while and after dinning in there.
    Parking:  Limited parking
Price:  4 regualr breakfast orders and coffee (After Tax and Tips $52)  All depends... To me, it is not worth it.  I came here because of my little sister like this place for some reasons.
Location:  You probably drive by without noticing

    i went sunday morning...

the wait was long, so i had a good long time to watch how many workers there are, to be amazed that only two people were really doing anything at all - the two cooks. these guys were hustling like crazy, moving and grooving. there were several times that the pass was clogged. have no idea where the servers were, but they were pumping food out like nobody's business.

then we got seated and it all made sense. the waitress seemed like a kindergarten teacher and my friend and i were her pupils. after bringing us water, it took a little bit for her to come back and take the order. getting the food took even longer. next time we saw her was after we asked a busboy to get her and she brought the check.

shrugs, the experience was wutever. i give it two stars, one for each cook. the food was cooked properly and for what they were working with, which was average ingredients, the food was just ok.

i guess it threw me off that i ordered cheesy eggs, and it was scrambled eggs with a slice of american cheese melted on top.... uh, yeah...

The service is great always friendly and the food is awesome. My boyfriend is a big breakfast person and his favorite place to get it was Ihop but now hands down its for sure this restaurant. If I'm going off food quality alone-- this place is probably only a 3.5... but since it has such important meaning for the history of Bellevue, it get's 5 stars.

This place has been in business since 1958....and I've been coming here ever since I went to school at Enatai Elementary, was on swim-team at Triangle pool (both which are close by) and attended Bellevue High School. I have very dear memories of spending time with friends and family here. They always employ local students and have had some of the same servers working there for many, many years.

What I always get is between 2 things:

Teenager plate:1 egg, 2 sausage patties ( these are really legit n homemade, trust me...not a big red meat eater and I EAT THESE) and 2 pancakes ( yes they are GOOD here).

Hashbrown omelette: Their hashbrowns are good and with cheese, eggs and sour cream-- who can complian? Simple but really good and the same way it has been cooked since back in the day.

My only complaints are-- it's slightly over priced for the amount of food/price AND the water cups are sooooo small. I find myself always wanting more water. I hate being punished for enjoying water.

They keep the coffee coming and the memories rolling here. It's one of the places that hasn't changed in Bellevue and I hope it remains the same for years to come.

We were on our weekend Seattle adventure and needed to fill our tummies before we went to do more tourist stuff and we ended up at the Pancake Corral.  I mean, really, a place that has "corral" should bring 'em all in--including me.

Being the indecisive person that I am, I ordered the pancake sampler which had one of each of their pancakes from their menu.  Genius, I tell you, genius!  I enjoyed having a little of everything from the buckwheat, to the Swedish, to the potato pancakes.  I wish more folks would do this, case I'd order it every time.

Service was really quite good, and the folks were very hospitable.  This seemed like the place to go, because even on Friday morning there was still a wait.  Not too much paved parking, but plenty of parking in the adjacent gravel lot.  If you're in Bellevue, this is the place to go!

I feel silly saying "I'd like the teenager's plate" because 1) I'm not a teenager and 2) I'm not a teenager.  Really.  Don't you know petite Asian syndrome?

Too bad that's the only breakfast item I'll ever get.  1 egg, 2 sausage patties, 2 buttermilk pancakes.  Well, maybe.  It's just that that's what I've gotten the past 3 times.. That and buckwheat pancakes.  Soo so good!  A little more dense than regular buttermilk and much more flavorful. Yum!

I honestly do not understand why this place gets good reviews.  The food selection was limited, expensive and highly overrated.

We moved here last year and decided to give this restaurant a try since it was in our neighborhood.  We went there on Saturday morning and it was full of people.  I think we waited about 30-45 min. in total.

I got cheese omelet and a side of fruit salad.  Mmm ... I've never had fruit salad from a can.  Really?  Not fresh fruits, but overly sweet fruit cocktail from a can is served as a fruit salad?!

There was a lipstick mark on my mug; the wait staff was friendly but our waitress seems to be in a hurry to serve the table so that she can get a fast turnaround to serve customers.

We'd rather go to Denny's or IHOP for breakfast.

As a big breakfast/brunch/pancake lover I expected this place to be a huge hit.  Although this place wasn't a big miss, perhaps my expectations were too high.  Service was really friendly, and this is a true family restaurant which is nice.  There is an old fashioned homey feel to this place which is absent from most chains these days.

The prices are on average $8-9 per meal, which could be considered high or on par for some people. I had more than enough food, as I had 3 sausages, scrambled eggs, and 3 buttermilk pancakes. Hubby had the pigs in the blanket.  Aside from the good service, though, I think it's nothing more than the typical breakfast you could throw together at home.  Nice if you are an out of towner like me looking for a bite, but that's about it.

This breakfast place is very good. The pancakes are like the tad bit overly buttered soft pancakes that you imagine eating (or maybe have) growing up. I've eaten here for quite some time and never had any complaints.

Disclaimer: by far not a pancake expert but definitely a huge fan of breakfast foods. I do wish they had better combinations of breakfast foods but no reason to ding for that.

Hint: The wait can be insanely long so get there early or be prepared. Otherwise, check out other joints in nearby cities that are good.

This place is the place for breakfast and brunch!

I am a Seattlelite, and it took me years to realize that I've been driving past this gem.

All I can say is, Husky Nation!
They have a great menu full of mouth watering pancakes many variations of dishes.  This place is Very kid friendly.  Just 2 wks ago, my family and I waited in line.  The door opens, daughter points to who we all know as Felix Hernandez, the Phenom pitcher for the Seattle Mariners.
While we waited, he played my with my daughter and had a great time.

ok, service wise, these guys consider everyone as family.  They even got an autograph from Felix without the kid sitting next to us asking.

They are very quick with the food, and give you enough coffee making you wonder what is making you full, the food or the coffee.

Price is very reasonable, and the portions are just right.
Definitely a hole in a wall you can totally miss.  Keep your eyes peeled, because this place is well worth the wait.

I don't have recommendations as to when you should go, since it's always busy.  Expect to wait about 20 minutes tops.  People waiting are usually very pleasant to talk to.   Or you can just wait for another celebrity to walk through the door, such Lofa Tatupu, whom we bumped into a couple summers ago.

I've been going to Pancake Coral since I was 4 years old. When I was little it was a fun place to go. The waitresses are the no nonsense "you want some ketchup on those hash browns, sugar?" sweet motherly feel that they make the basic breakfasts worth the trip.

BUT the breakfasts here are 100% diner food. It's grease on top of your greasy eggs and bacon and basic waffles and pancakes and now that I'm paying for my own meals (I'm not 4 anymore) the prices are a little bit too high for what your getting. If I'm getting basic scrambled eggs and hash browns, all which are probably not fresh, I would like my bill to be under $10, but it never is.

Regardless, I will probably end up going here for another 20 years for the memories, and the line out the door on the weekends tells me everyone else will too.

    Awful, awful food, staff, everything!

Fiance, me and a friend go to Chace's after a night drinking. It's hard to find, parking is awful, it was busy and our waitress was absolutely, overbearingly, cloyingly sweet. Angling for tips is one thing but she was intolerable.

The food is overpriced for what you get. Had sausage links, scrambled eggs and pancakes for $10. Sausage was super greasy, eggs were runny and pancakes were so dry they were practically inedible. Fiance was assured the corned beef hash was homemade but was unmistakably from the can. Still had the can shape, in fact.

And to top it all off, total bill was over $40. Not worth it at all.

So my bf told me about a breakfast place that he's been wanting to go to since he was a kid and has never been (imagine, a breakfast place we HAVEN'T been to yet!).  It was Chace's Pancake Corral, a place that if you blinked, you'd miss it.  Other than the line out the door and string of cars trying to get into their teeny parking lot, you'd never notice it.  So we got there on a Saturday morning, no surprise there was a line, and waited to be seated.  All the while looking at the menu which is riddled with varying types of pancakes and the likes.  By the time we got seated, about 25 minutes later, he had decided he wanted french toast.  I nearly slapped him.  You don't got to a place that specializes in something and not get that something.  le sigh, but I digress.

We were seated and our waitress bounded over, poured us cups of coffee and started spitting out stories and endearments.  She was a gem and made the experience that much better.  Because we could make up our minds, we had a feast in front of us when our food came.  My bf decided to get the pancake sampler (thank goodness) and the hashbrown omelette.  The sampler had potato, buckwheat, buttermilk pancakes and a crepe.  ALL of which I got to sample and were awesome!  The hashbrown omelette was sick!  The outside where the eggs would be was crispy shredded hashbrowns, inside was eggs and cheese.  It was the most amazing concept and was so. dang. good!!!!

I ended up having the eggs and hashbrown combo that came with pancakes, but instead of just the buttermilk cakes I got pumpkin pancakes.  Hold the freaking phone!!!  I died and went to pumpkin heaven. The pancakes were smooth and airy, light and just enough sweetness.  They sprinkled cinnamon and nutmeg on top just before serving and these pancakes seriously didn't even need syrup.  I didn't even put syrup on them after a while, they were that good!!!

This place is my new place for down home, good cooking breakfasts.  Now don't get me wrong, this place is not cheap and you will definitely leave with a full belly, but you will not be disappointed.  If you are, then so what?  I still like it and will continue to go there until they close up or I get banned from there for cleaning them out of pumpkin pancakes.  :)

I used to go here a lot as a child and it was really great.  My wife and I just went recently and it was just as good as I remember.  I will definitely go again.

My wife and I are in town for a wedding and thought we would try eating somewhere other than the hotel restaurant (which looked really good), so I found this place on yelp and the reviews made it sound pretty good.  I don't really understand why this place has so many good reviews.  The food selection is horrible (I think the only vegetable on the menu was in a salad), no scrambles, no veggie sausage.  The pancakes and french toast were mediocre.  I was afraid to try the coconut syrup... it was YELLOW??  The wait staff was very attentive though.

I would not eat here again.

I went here spontaneously with a group of friends when our high school had a late start day. Even though we were a party of eleven, they were accommodating and got us seated relatively quickly (It took about 20 minutes, probably because our last four people took longer to arrive.) The waitress was really friendly and it seemed like an actual family-run place (this is a good thing.) The pancakes were awesome. Their bacon (which I had to get on the side because I can never resist bacon) was out of this world: not too hard, not weak either. I'd recommend getting the blueberry pancakes, because you get a lot of blueberry...
It is kind of small space, though, so I'd try to avoid the peak times if you can.
