Review from Tae K.
Vancouver, BC
I can only speak for the dining experience at CCFV, as I am unfamiliar with the other services offered by the Centre for Vancouver's francophiles. However, if the quality of the movies/books/classes/events are as good as the food, the whole place gets five stars!
Complete with an outdoor patio, the cafe at CCFV offers generous portions of gourmet French food at great prices. The daily specials are a steal at around $20, which includes a salad, entree, and dessert. If you don't speak French the menu might be hard to figure out, so try the lamb, duck, or mussels with fries.
The service is a bit slow when the place gets busy, but the friendly waiters and waitresses, tasty food, and overall French atmosphere will have you going back again and again. Bon appetit! -
Review from J G.
Vancouver, BC
Le Centre Culturel Francophone de Vancouver houses a library, a restaurant/café and has any number of resources for the francophone or francophile. The restaurant is high quality French cuisine at a reasonable price (about $20 - $25 for the table d'hote), and the service is charmingly French. In addition to the restaurant, there is a nicely stocked library of books, magazines, newspapers and videos all in French, and the centre also hosts a number of regular and special activities such as their Wednesday night French speakers gathering, outings, cultural events, French classes and some events that are family/child friendly. This is really an excellent resource for anyone who has a love of French or a desire to learn.
