Review from Buzz B.
Vancouver, BC
In my opinion, by far the most well-maintained park in Greater Vancouver. The duck pond is great for remote controlled boats. That same area of the park is also ideal of summer barbeques.
For joggers, the 5km trail around the park is great for people who get bored at looking at too much forestry; it runs along Kingsway and Patterson so you get to see a bit of everything. -

This park is great, trails and tracks through the woods for walking and biking.
Close to business and even the local commuter train..
This park also has bathrooms and even some fitness challenges along the way. -

This is still a work in progress! because I'm still discovering this (central) park. And so far I've been to the park once and it was in boundary and kingsway side of the park.
There was a nice playground for the kids, but only few much of seats or shades for parents! (I was melting!!). Some people were having a BBQ so i guess it's allowed to bring your grill to this side of the park.
Another good thing about the park is the free parking, and through it was a weekend and there was a (noisy) match in the attached stadium, we found a parking spot in no time.
On the downside, I think this park has some negative energy! I'm gonna explore this matter in my next visit :D seriously this park does not feel right for a funny reason, could it be the layout, the tree, or may be the noise in the background. This could be a personal perception, but let me know if anyone agrees!
So, I'm gonna go to this park again, if not to enjoy the place, it'll be to resolve the negative energy mystery! :P -

I do the most random bike rides here. It seems like there are innumerable gravel trails through the park, twisting this way and that through the woods, around duck ponds, playgrounds, a clearing with a gazebo. I can ride around for hours, going this way or that as the path forks and loops, stop to read a book, watch the squirrels (black, brown, grey - they're everywhere), have a snack and then ride off again back down the BC Parkway, along the Patterson Sea-to-River bikeway, or west on the Midtown route into Vancouver for a spell. Central Park is an especially magical park to ride in (or walk, if that's how you roll) on sunny summer days, because it's all so verdant and shady. Easy breezy.
Like Queen's Park, nearer to me, it's got a bit of everything: Swangard Stadium (where I went to track meets as a kid), some open fields on the side by Boundary Road, a pool, and a golf course. But what I like best is that though it's in the middle of everything, it lets you get lost for awhile. -

I've been coming through this park over the last month for my bootcamp classes and it's a huge, diverse, and interesting park. There are so many nature trails--some of which contain exercise stations. There is a soccer stadium there where the Vancouver White Caps play. I think there is also a baseball diamond! Pitch and putt-- so much fun!
I know I still have more to discover of Central Park. But it's ridiculously huge with so much to do there. I think (if I may say) there is even more outdoorsy things to do here than at Stanley Park! -

this 90-hectare urban park is homage to so much...
swanguard stadium-where the whitecaps have their soccer games, schools around the city have their track meets, the 24 hour relay takes place every year....etc! it has probably one of the nicest outdoor running tracks i have ever ran on.
outdoor public/private swimming pool-not a swimmer myself so i can't boast too much about it...but every summer it is packed with kids and adults.
pitch & putt- yep, behind all those trees...there are golfers practicing their swing. ive tried that course a couple times...i suck at golf. how do i know? i can never finish the course...its not even a REAL golf course, yah, i suck.
outdoor playground- recently renovated, the kids play area is always home to shouts by toddlers, kidlets and adutls alike. i have always loved their 'rolly' slide..when they took it down, i was so sad. then later i go back to see that they just replaced it with a new one. =)
baseball diamond- you can catch a few local games out in the diamond by the patterson stn.
running trail-awesome. it has 3 different distances, with a bunch of 'workout stations' sprinkled throughout to challenge ya! ive done em all...and they're great.
awesome amount of grass field- for bootcamps, picnics, sunbathing, frolicking with your dog, run around with the fam...use your imagination.
i could go on.... i have a lot of memories at this park =) but instead, i say go and make your own.Listed in: HOT spots

Central Park is the largest park in Burnaby. It is covered mostly with large fir and spruce trees. There are many trails that are ideal for walking, jogging, and cycling. If you're new to fly fishing, there is even a fly casting pond just for fly casters. However, there are no fish inside the pond. There is even a 18 hole Pitch and Putt golf course. The Pitch and Putt is popular with teens and seniors. There is a large field on Boundary Road and Imprerial Ave, which is popular with the volleyball crowd. There are many picnic tables and it's an ideal place for a summer BBQ. There are plenty of free parking all over the park. I have seen many coyotes in Central Park, so you will have to be careful if you have small dogs or children. The park washrooms are gross.
