My husband and I have been calling this the "hipster convenience store" because the staff is so different than most convenience stores, they are hipsters.
Central Convenience is now my #1 stop when I need odd grocery items in the neighborhood. They always have cream, milk, eggs, the basics, but they also stock harder to find merchandise, which is great in a neighborhood with no immediate supermarket. For example, tofu and miso. They have both. When you walk in, on the right hand side there is a shelf with assorted exotic mushrooms and other produce, and that is where I found the tofu when I needed it.
It is a standard-sized convenience store (small), but it is stocked with much more useful commodities than the 7-11s and Macs' that litter our city streets. I used to live across from a Macs' that was a pot-loving teenager's dream, but useless for the rest of us.
So, thank you Central Convenience for continuing to be truly convenient.
Cash only, as it says on the door.

Best convenience store in the area. They carry all the basics that you could possibly need, and for cheaper than Dominion. You'd think that since there are only two aisles, they wouldn't have a lot of stuff, but they manage to fit everything into the tiny store. Toilet paper for 99 cents, an expanding produce section, and $4.99 DVDs (all new releases!). This place has tons more beyond your basic bread, milk and eggs, so if you need something quick, come here instead of Dominion.

One downfall -- they're not open very late at all, so you'll have to go for late-night runs to Dominion on College or the 24-hour 7-11 down the street.
