As much as I despise the way taxi drivers are on the road around town ( obnoxious horns, cursing, maniac driving).... when you're a passenger, Central Cab sure delivers!
I can easily step out from my APT and hail a cab, but I'll always call Central Cab when going to the airport. They ACTUALLY show up within 10 minutes of scheduled time frame, sometimes earlier. A dispatcher places your pickup time and the driver calls you when outside instead of driving away for a more convenient fare. With all the huge events here on SoBe I appreciate the dispatchers honesty of admitting longer pickup times rather than leading me on.

I only use them because they have the, verifone credit card computers in their taxis.
it is easier for me to use them because they have hundreds of taxis on Miami beach and it makes it easier for me to write it off as a business expense. I took them every day back and forth for a week to the convention center and had no problems Great option Excellent service ! -

Hands down my best taxi experience ever. I ordered a taxi for 7:30 the next morning, and although I was a bit concerned that the dispatcher didn't take my name or number, apparently they just take your number from the incoming call log. The driver called me at 7:20 to confirm he was on his way, and which entrance I would be at. When I got down to the lobby, he was already waiting for me outside the lobby because he had parked around the corner.
The driver was incredibly friendly, and got me to the airport in record time (but I never felt unsafe - a very rare experience in a cab!) - the fare was only $20, and it's usually $30. We chatted on the way, and it was just such a pleasant start to the morning.
I can't recommend Central Cab enough! -

I never waited more than five minutes after placing a call! The drivers are super nice and talkative if your in the mood. Very humble. I would have gave 5 stars but the cabs always smell like cigs:(

Since taxis aren't really about price, it's all about service. Central Cab is my go to taxi service while in South Beach. Whether it's getting a ride to my friend's apt to pre-party (and it normally is, at least once a week), or a taxi to the airport, Central Cab will be there for you.
Points for:
They answer the phone! Crazy, huh!? and if there is a "wait" for an operator, it'll usually be 45 seconds or less.
clean cabs, nice enough drivers, driving skills are never scary!
They get to my place fast! I call usually between 10:30 and 11 pm on a friday or sat night- primetime! - and they are always outside in 4 minutes... like clockwork!
I just called to make a reservation for a dog friendly van to take me to the airport in 7 hours. "No problem, it'll be outside at 8:30AM". How often do you hear "no problem"? Exactly why Central Cab gets my stars : ) -

Central Cab is my go-to cab company on the beach. If I call for a cab, they're at my door in under 5 minutes, which is awesome. Unfortunately, unlike some cab companies, they don't take your number and have the driver call you when they're outside, so you have to be on the lookout, but once you get used to that, Central Cab can't be beat.
The drivers are always super-pleasant and very friendly. They'll take you wherever you want to go as fast as they can, without all the nonsense or out-of-the-way "short-cuts" you may get with other cab drivers. And not once have I had to explain where a common location is, again, unlike with other cab companies. Central Cab rocks.Listed in: SoBe Local Faves

For the record, this is the only cab company I've ever liked. I'm a tough customer. =P
Why They Deserve My Almighty Praise
1) They answered the phone within 2-3 rings.
2) They didn't do the answer-then-immediately-put-on-hold-for-10-minutes thing. That's cheating.
3) The gentleman who answered was incredibly friendly, polite, and didn't rush me at all. I almost thought I had a wrong number.
4) He asked if it was okay if they sent someone right away (!) or if I needed to schedule a later time to make it more convenient.
5) The cab came in 5 minutes, tops.
6) The fee was reasonable and the driver was super nice.
7) Driver went the quickest way possible and definitely made every light he could. =)
So yeah, only people I'll be calling to hand over my hard-earned cash. -

We often use Central Cab where I work and they are great, They always answer the phone right away and the cabs get here so fast I am amazed!
