I'm normally a Regular at Carrie'l for my hair needs but today I felt like getting a cut on my lunch break. After a quick google search I discovered Celebrity was just over a block away from the office and I walked straight over there. Even without a appointment they could fit me in straight away and as it was my first time the receptionist showed me around and got me a robe.
I was introduced to Courtney who would be my stylist and she asked me what I was looking for and the treatments I have had in the past. After explaining my hair was pretty dried out she explained the extra conditioning treatments and the price and added it only took the same time as a normal conditioning. I went with a 10 dollar protein boosting treatment which was massaged into my hair for a few minutes. Very relaxing!
When it was time for cut she got the run down of my hair, if i do much to style it at home (I don't) and said she would just clean it up for me. Sounded good! I was expecting the run of the mill trim but instead I ended up with a really adorable style that is no fuss and my hair looks and feels healthier. She didn't try to up sell me on any products, just explained the type of product she was using and what it did as she was going.
She told me what kind of colouring would suit my hair and skin tone and recommended that I wait until my hair got a bit healthier before doing so. She gave me her card and after I paid (it was under $75 including a nice tip) I was on my way and made it back to work within my lunch hour.
I have to say I'm impressed, I've had quick haircuts and great haircuts but never at the same time. I'm sure I will be returning to Courtney for as long as she is there! -

Salons haven't given me the greatest experiences over the years - that's probably why I spent about a decade hacking my own hair off with a cheap pair of Goody scissors.
That is, until I met Stephanie, who has changed my life. A stylist working out of Celebrity, Stephanie's cuts are perfect for me: choppy, low maintenance, and cute as hell. I don't even have to ask her to DO anything - she just somehow knows exactly what I want.
The salon itself has operated since the '60s and is still on the cutting edge. It's centrally-located, low-key and friendly, yet very professional with stylists to suit all tastes and budgets - from the bouncy wedding-day updo being crafted in the chair next door to the wash 'n wear bohemian shag with which Stephanie revitalized my own limp locks. -

Marianne is my go-to at Celebrity - she's awesome! She cuts both me and my boyfriend's hair, as well as several other good friends' hair. She always sits down and discusses with me what I'd like to do with my hair, and always makes it look nice. She's the only hairstylist who's succeeded in cutting my boyfriend's mildly curly hair in the style he normally wears. My gf comes every few months to get her hair cut and coloured something different every time, often leaving it completely up to Marianne to decide, and it always looks amazing. Marianne is fun and bubbly, and great at what she does - would recommend her to anyone. Prices for a women's haircut is $70, men's $50.

I've never really trusted other people to cut my hair, and always preferred the DIY approach... until I found Patricia at Celebrity! She is just amazing! She's the only one who cuts my hair now! I also send clients to Celebrity to have their hair styled for photo shoots. I've yet to see a bad hair do walk out of there!
