I like their Crepes - reasonably price but really tasty. It is a must visit if I am in Quebec city. Even they don't have many seats but it worth waiting.

I have tried the following ones and all of them are good:
    Roastbeef, mushrooms & swiss chess
    Ham, mushrooms & green pepper
    Strawberry dessert crepe

Kristina L.'s review from earlier this year is spot on.  A few additions:
    1) I don't feel the same way about the waitress's attitude.  I think it's busy there and it's probably tiring on them.
    2) You will likely wait to get in on a weekend.
    3) The cafe au lait is great.

We chose to go here over Marche ou Crepe (it's a bit of a walk if you're spending time within the walls) and another one that hasn't been reviewed well here and wasn't half has packed as Casse.  We'll try another creperie next time.

A cute, casual, and affordable crêperie! A perfect pit stop for hungry bellies while roaming the streets of Old Québec City.

While the crêpes weren't the best I've ever had, they were still better and more satisfying than others I've had in, say, Boston. And if you're just not in the mood for a crêpe, no worries! Casse-Crepe Breton also offers soup, sandwiches, and salads. My freinds and I loved the freshly-squeezed juices such as carrot, grapefruit, and yes, celery! Not to mention fun coffee options like Liégeois and Viennois.

My only complaint is that service was a tad slow and waitresses weren't exactly friendly. I could almost hear them thinking "Ughhhh, American tourists. Here we go again!" I used to live in the province of Québec, so I really don't tolerate this type of attitude. Other than that, I'd go back.

This is an awesome Crepe place in downtown Quebec on Rue st Jean. Reasonably priced and great portion size with good quality fresh ingredients. I always go to Casse Crepe whenever I visit Quebec city. Their Crepes with 3 ingredients cost around $6.99. Great service too. There's always a wait because of how popular it is. I think it is worth the wait:)

Expect to pay about $8 CAD for a delicious dinner not including drinks.  It is great tasting, fresh, healthy, and a good value.  Additionally, it is a prime location.

The only downside is you might need to wait 20min mostly outside during peak dinner hours, but this is only because it is a great restaurant and can therefore not be negatively counted toward their review.

Nice little crepe place with something you won't find much in Quebec City, reasonable prices.  We ate here twice.  The first time, the crepes were a bit over cooked, the second time they were just right.

I would definitely recommend this place.  It is not five star dining, but a nice place to grab a bite, without the outrageous prices at most other places.

My partner and I come to Quebec for Carnaval and we always make a stop in here for breakfast. I order the ham, egg, mozzarella, and mushroom crepe. It's big enough to satisfy me until the early afternoon. The dessert crepes are also great (except the cherry, they use canned cherries, yuck). The staff is friendly and quick. I would recommend this restaurant.

In the middle of vieux Quebec, this is a relatively good option for some cheap eats. Savory and dessert crepes are available on the menu. I opted to split a savory crepe and a dessert crepe in order to try both. We had the marron (chestnut cream) crepe for dessert with maple syrup and ice cream as additionals. It was fantastic and definitely hit the spot. Service was relatively quick and cheerful. Can't go wrong for the location and price.

After having a great dinner within the walls of Old Quebec City, my fiance and I were on the way out when we came across this place.

The place was pretty full, which meant that it was probably good, so we went inside for dessert.  My fiance ordered the chestnut crepe, and I ordered a crepe with fresh strawberry, bananas, and vanilla ice cream inside.

My fiance thought that the crepe was good. The only thing is that she said that it was a bit too sweet.  My crepe was made just perfect for me.  It tasted great!

Our server was friendly and attentive. It made for a pleasant all around experience.  I would definitely go back to this place again.

Update:  My fiance and I went back inside Old Quebec City again in the evening for a bite to eat.  Instead of dessert, we thought that we'd try a regular meal here.  My fiance ordered the ham, egg, mozzorella cheese and mushroom crepe, and I ordered the roast beef, onion, mushroom, and mozzorella crepe and a tomato soup.

The crepes tasted okay, but we really liked the dessert crepes more.  In other words, the crepes we had the second time around were nothing to write about.  The tomato soup didn't taste right.  I can't find the words to describe it.  In addition to this, the service was really really bad.

We were even lucky to have our waitress come to our table to take our order.  Once our order was taken, our waitress disappeared outside to have a smoke with another co-worker for a long time.  Only after another waitress called them both in did they return.  It was a total one hundred eighty turn from our experience the previous night.

I originally gave this place four stars.  After our experience tonight, I only gave them a total of two stars for taste and service.

Looking for a quick breakfast before exploring the old city. Stumbled into Casse-Crepe Breton just around the corner from our hotel.

Couple of notes before the food/service review.

    1. If you're a "fat boy" like me avoid the booths - they are pretty squishy especially if you are a fan of I don't know... breathing.

    2. Go early! The place was lined up out the door by 9:15 am

Okay, first order of the morning was coffee - and it was GOOD!! I love a place that automatically brings milk and cream and keeps your cup topped off.

    My family all ordered crepes.

I had the #4 combo a crepe stuffed with ham, mushroom and mozzarella.

My wife created her own breakfast crepe with spinach, mushroom and mozzarella

We commented to each other on how piping hot the food was and the freshness of the ingredients.

My daughter ordered the strawberry crepe that she saw someone else eating at the table beside us. This was packed with fresh berries, and came with a small side of whipped cream. Gotta say I had a bit of food envy when it was placed in front of her.

Our waitress was very friendly and made some suggestions about where to visit during our time in Quebec City. The best part - breakfast for $30. I've found Quebec City very expensive so far, so this was a nice surprise.

If you're around Casse-Crepe Breton early and it's not jammed to the rafters then check it out. I was glad we did.

Casse-Crepe Breton appears to be one of the most popular crepe places in Quebec. Just about all the guidebooks list it as a go to spot. So, we dutifully stopped in on our trip to Quebec. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype.

The crepes are average at best and the selection of fillings is decent but nothing special. The have both sweet and savoury crepes starting at about $5.

On the up side, the ambiance is nice, the service is friendly and quick, and the prices are good considering the location in the heart of Old Quebec. The crepes are OK but I'm sure there's better places in Quebec.

I am so thankful for Yelp and our guidebook for directing us to Casse-Crepe Breton on our recent trip to Quebec.  Our first day in the city we ate at a creperie attached to Le Chateau Frontenac and I was so disappointed with the texture and flavor of my crepe.

My husband and I made our way here on the second afternoon and each ordered a sweet crepe for an afternoon treat.  I had a butter and sugar crepe with ice cream and he had a chocolate crepe with ice cream.  Wow!  We each savored every bite!!!  Having lived in Paris, I was immediately taken back to the authentic flavor and texture of a true butter and sugar crepe that in the 13 years since no other non-Parisian establishment has been able to duplicate for me.  I was in heaven.  So much so that we went back for a return visit on our last day for another one!

The second time we returned, we sat at the bar and watched them prepare the crepes.  I will say I was blown away by the volume of ingredients they put inside each one.  Especially for the low price!

I can't comment on the savory crepes, but I know we'll return whenever we visit Quebec again!  C'est parfait!

I have to agree with Marcus H. and John B., though I can't bring myself to give out 1 star.  This restaurant came highly recommended in several guide books and by some family members who went earlier this year.  I love crepes and was excited to have "the best crepes in Quebec."  My husband and I both ordered savory crepes and were very thrown off by the texture.  They were hard, somewhat chewy, and didn't have a great flavor to them.  I also wasn't impressed with the filling of my crepe at all.  The proportions seemed to be off and nothing tasted quite right.  Pete only finished half of his, which says a lot.

If you are looking for the best crepes in Quebec, definitely go elsewhere.

Lovely creperie in the busy Old city neighborhood.

The crowd was a mixed between locals and tourists.  Luckily we came earlier than the lunch crowd because there was a line when we finished.

You can pick 2 fillings for your crepe for $5.75.  Or take their recommendations.  All for less than $9.
They also serve traditional breakfast fare like bacon and eggs and toast (love toasts in Quebec... nice and thick).

My favorite was the apple and Swiss cheese crepe... remember to order some maple syrup as well.  perfect combo that I rarely find in the US.

Service was great and I love the little cottage ambiance too!

This was the first place we sought out to try when we first got to Quebec City this weekend knowing that crepes were a speciality in this town AND it was a top recommendation in my QC guide book. We saw a line out the door when we got there though, so decided to go back another time. We went back the next day and I was excited as the not only did the menu look really good, but I thought it was such a good deal to make your own crepe for under $8!

The decor was cute, a small venue you we got a table by the window which was nice to people-watch.  I was surprised they didn't have any outdoor seating though.

We started with a pitcher of sangria which was pretty good. My bf and I decided to get one 'savory' crepe of roast beef, swiss cheese, and mushrooms and I got the dessert crepe with the strawberry filling.  The savory crepe was quite tasty and definitely filling by itself. The dessert crepe was not quite what I expected as I suppose I pictured getting fresh strawberries and creme inside instead of just jelly-like strawberry spread.

Nonetheless, I wish I had gotten a chance to go back there again before I left, one of the cheaper crepe places in QC and well-worth it!

The first time I visited this creperie I was disappointed to say the least. Myself and two of my girlfriends ordered some sweet crepes and some beer on tap. When we received our crepes all three of them were overdone and so chewy that our knives couldn't cut through the leather! Also their tap ran out of beer so we got half a glass to start with beaucoup de head and our waitress kept forgetting to give us the other half of our drinks!

I found myself in Quebec a few weeks later and since all my other friends told me this place was good for them I wanted to give it another shot ...and I was at the stage of hunger where you start taking it out on children walking by..ahem...

This time was much better! My boyfriend just got a classic Quebecois crepe of ham and cheese (classy boy!) and added a side salad for $1.50 I think. The side salad was so good! The crepes were perfect and delicate they way they should be and our fillings were magnifique!

I'm so glad I gave you a second try CCB - now I will recommend you to others...but you will stay at 3 stars as the first impressions count too.

I stopped in here for breakfast during a recent visit to Quebec.  It was up the giant staircase around the corner for my hotel, and definitely worth the walk.  (I discovered the elevator about 10 minutes before I left to head back home to Boston)

I think my fellow yelper David W. sums it up pretty well: "Authentic?  I couldn't tell you... but  it was delicious"  I thought it was better than the crepes places I'm used to back home (which are still pretty good) and I was talking about this place for the rest of the weekend.

The line to get in looked pretty long, but it moved quickly.  It's pretty small inside (although, bigger than it looks from the outside) but it's very comfortable.

I got a chocolate and strawberry crepe (yum!)  and the savory options that I sampled were also very good.

I found myself in Quebec for the day and eating a crepe seemed like the thing to do:)

A check of YELP mobile found this place has some good reviews and wasn't too far away.

We arrived around noon on a Sunday and we waited a few minutes for a table....

Inside is really small...and that explained the wait.

We ordered from their savory menu, but their sweet crepes looked delicious...  I ordered a Ham, egg, mozzarella and mushroom...

Authentic?  I couldn't tell you... but  it was delicious and at 7.50 for a touristy part of the city, I thought to be a fair value.

If in Quebec again, I would go out of my way to stop by this place again... this time for something sweet.

Was the first place I had breakfast my last trip to Quebec. The service was great and I enjoyed my morning ham and cheese crepe with hot chocolate. While there I was also entertained by the waitress who spoke no english but never the less chose to swear in english when she walked into a lamp, for better or worse it made me laugh. It's is a cute little place and I enjoyed it very much.

I think this place only gets rave reviews because it is one of the few cheap options serving up non-McDonalds-type food in old Quebec.

But honestly, there is nothing really remarkable about these crepes. The crepes taste exactly how you think they'll taste, and nothing is surprising. If I had a crepe wheel, I could make this myself quite easily and I'm no great chef!

My friend got the bananas crepe, while I got the bananas crepe with chocolate and creme fraiche. Mine was good and the chocolate sauce was nice and bitter like real chocolate should be, but it was not worth the $9 I paid for it! My friends banana crepe was just a dry flour crepe with chopped up bananas and nothing else! No sauce or seasoning to tie it together, and it definitely wasn't worth the $8 he paid for his.

This place should not be lauded in the tour books like it is. Just because nearly everywhere in Quebec City is expensive doesn't make this place any better just because it makes mediocre food at relatively low prices. My money would have been better spent on some delicious artery-clogging poutine at Ashton. :)

I was visiting from Toronto and ate at this restaurant. I ordered the crepes with chocolate which were ok. The crepes were a little dry and hard. Normally crepes are softer but perhaps that is how they are served in Breton as well. There was plenty of chocolate in those crepes, which was the only thing nice about this place.

The poor rating is not only for the food but also due to their bad service. The server was extremely rude, not only to us, but to others as well. Since they are a small restaurant, they ask people to wait outside until called inside. As this is not a normal practice at restaurants most people end up entering the restaurant without reading the sign posted on the door. The server was extremely rude to those people entering (including us), and asked people to wait outside. I think the server could be polite while asking people to wait outside.

For a crepe meh.  I got the egg cheese and ham one. It kind of wasn't like a crepe at all, it was like a quesadilla.

Maybe stick to the dessert ones? Not sure but definitely not what I was looking for.  Also my bf got the Expresso milk shake thingy it was like 4 slurps and it was done and it was like $4.

Anyway, I believe there is another creperie called Cafe Billing, when i went it was closed, but, heard those were legit.

I have been to Quebec city 4 times and have eaten here every visit, this place has steadily declined and now down deep in the DUMP.  They know it and think their past laurels will carry them.... me thinks NOT.

Now they have a guy out on the street begging customers to come in an try them, In all my prior trips I had to wait at least 20 minutes to get a table. Now we were 4 adults and we walk it and had a pick of the tables on the July 4th weekend.

The Crep was very tastless, we each picked a different one and all of us could not get thru it, I have the basic crep with eggs, my wife has the ham and cheese and the others were the Apple filling and the spinach and onions, peppers.

The spinach onion, pepper was the worst, it wasn't even cooked and it tasted raw...... this place is a DUMP, AVOID. the Crep is a french version of a glorified pancake that is twice the price 1 10th the pancake ( almost like and Indian pan roll --- that tasts lot better).

this place now takes the cake for ruining this basic french hype of a pancake.

I love this place and it's very reasonably priced compared to all of the other creperies in the area.  I ate here 3 times during my 4 day visit to Old Quebec City.  The other reviews seem a bit picky, as though the reviewers don't know what a real crepe is like.  My husband and I both tried the savory crepes and the sweet crepes and all were delicious.  You don't have to go strictly by the menu; you can customize your crepe with any combination of ingredients.  The "granny hot chocolate" and the fresh squeezed juices were amazing!

Within the walls of old Quebec City and all its pretentious restaurants, this place is a breath of fresh air.  It's not fine dining.   It's a creperie.  I had both a dinner crepe and a dessert crepe.  The combinations offered, or create your own crepe options, are very interesting.  The result is a fairly tasty meal.  The prices are reasonable.  The service is friendly.  Yes, I know, there are a LOT of fine dining options in old Quebec City, but for a relaxing bite to eat, this is a nice place and definitely worth a try!

Tasty crepes. HOWEVER. The ladies making them are not.  Watching them make or rather torture the crepes is not only aesthetically unpleasant, but almost torterous. I doubt they washed their hands once during the 2 hours I was there, but they went back and forth touching the meats and cheeses, then the veggies, then dessert fillings... possibly the rag they used to wipe the counter occasionally and several times their faces. No gloves.  I guess if there had been a wall between them and the counter, it wouldn`t have bothered me as much. But there is no wall. There WAS, however, a hair in my salad. I sent it back - a little apology and a giggle is how they dealt with it.  You decide if you want to come here. I think Quebec City is not short on creperies...

ok, this place is good and i would have given this place a great review except when we went to pay, they were completely ridiculous when it came to accepting USD instead of CAD. at every other place I went to in the 4 days, they accepted cash on a 1:1 exchange rate (which works a little in their favor), but here the exchange rate for something that was 9 CAD came out to cost $22!!!!!!! insane.

food was good though. not worth $22 that's for sure.

What a great spot for breakfast or a treat!
Basically I was walking around the city with the SigO, scoping out a place for breakfast the next morning. While I was reading the menu here, a family asked me to take their picture. As I did so, I asked how they were enjoying themselves and the Crepes. They could not stop raving about the simplistic pleasure of a well done crepe, so of course I had to try.
What a cute, tiny little place. They make the crepes to order right out in the open concept kitchen. There are both sweet and savory options. I immediately went for the cherry with the choc sauce and whipped creme (Because if I'm going to do it, I'm gonna DO IT). What a delight! One crepe may not fill you up if you are starving as I was, but I decided to fill up on a nice hot chocolate instead of sampling another crepe.
It's a nifty spot, and in the early morning you can tell the locals like to hang out there diner-style.
I fully approve!  (and so does SigO who enjoyed his savory Crepe)
Beware Crepe-tation, the temptation to try all flavors in one sitting.

one of the more popular and touristy creperies in quebec city, casse-crepe is located right on the busy rue saint-jean which leads from chateau frontenac through town to the city gate and on to the commercial area.  we had gone to le billig the day before and experienced their buckwheat crepes, so we thought we would try the more crowded place that yelp has warned us about.

we stepped into a clean, sparkling french-style creperie with shiny beer taps and mirrors with the specials written on them.  fortunately, it was not that crowded but we did have to wait for a seat.  the girl didn't ask us if we were ok with the bar, where there was one lone guy sitting there in the middle of the three seats.  so we waited.  it wasn't that long before the guy finally paid his bill and left, and we ended up with a pretty decent vantage point of the open kitchen.  i put an order in for a bowl of hot chocolate, and what arrived was really a bowl of rich creamy chocolatey goodness perfectly foamed.  my boyfriend ordered the strawberry crepe [the day before was a savory crepe day, today was sweet], and was asked if he wouldn't mind strawberry jam, instead of fresh strawberries as the kitchen was out.  very nice of them to ask, and he consented.  it was pretty good jam, but it was jam with chunks of preserved strawberries.  i couldn't decide what i wanted.  i just knew i wanted something with maple syrup [we are in canada after all, eh], so i asked if it was too weird to have ham, swiss and maple syrup all together.  boyfriend made a face, but our sweet server said, "no, it's quite good actually!"  i'm not that weird after all!

food was pretty good...i think i'd stick to the conventional crepes as opposed to buckwheat.

Awesome place for crepes.  We split the ham, egg, mozzarella and mushrooms crepe and it was great!  Perfect for a late breakfast and big enough for two people.  The staff actually persuaded us to hold on ordering two crepes (we considered ordering a chocolate crepe at the same time) so I'd give the service a big thumbs up for that one.  The small cups of coffee (or cafe au lait for us) are a bit small, but the bowls are also too big.  Anyway, there can be a line for parties over 2, but I'd still recommend it even if you have to wait a bit.  Oh yea... the prices are cheap and there is a ton of selection.

Crepes were ok.  But the waitress we had was rude.  First strike, told us to wait outside the store for a table.  Strike two, when we pay for our bill, she asked if we wanted to put the tips on the card.  I told her, yes, but she do not ask me how much to put on and proceed to put on a 20% tips. She definitely did not deserve it with her service.  Definitely WILL NOT go back.

Food was good. My wife and I had dinner crepes and then shared a dessert crepe. The sevice was fine and the staff  were friendly. It has a quaint atmosphere and a casual feel.

This restaurant was both recommended in the Michelin Green Guide and had received favorable reviews on Yelp, so we decided to try it out.  My wife and I both love crepes and spent a lot of time in Normandy and Brittany searching out little creperies.  To my mind, a crepe should be very thin, with an airy texture and a very slight chew.  In a savory crepe, the chew usually comes from the buckwheat.  Here, the texture was markedly akin to a tortilla and both the savory and dessert crepes were made with white flour.  I had a crepe with egg, ham and fromage.  My perfect version of this crepe involves thinly shaved, sllghtly salty ham, a hint of cheese and a sunny side up egg around which the crepe is folded.  Somewhat short of this ideal, the egg was basically hard-cooked, the ham tasted like the pre-sliced grocery store variety, and the cheese was fine but too plentiful.  In a city filled with wonderful restaurants, I wouldn't waste any time here.

    My rating system:

    * Terrible, avoid at all costs
    ** Below average
*** Good, solid cuisine, good price to value, as expected
    **** Above average, wonderful cuisine
***** Amazing, worth a special trip

The crepes are well done and the service is friendly. Greate place for a light meal or an afternoon crave. the counter overlooking the cooking area gives it a cozy feeling, but can be a little crampy. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.
