Ummm....they have lots of stuff I usually need every few months or so (clothes, beauty supplies, and don't forget..shoes!) BUT sometimes the customer service is not great. I noticed they have a lot of older, older ladies working there. And older people they are known to be crabby, well these older women are noooo exemption! But they're old, so they're allowed to be crabby, but still! I feel like they don't really wanna help you!

I like the Clinique Dept. I actually have had great customer service experience there. There was a real nice older gal that worked there that is Italian! She gave me a coupon!

You can get clothes at a good deal. And it's at the HIP. If you live in this area, you know you're going to have to end up visiting here anyway, so we just deal with the sha ka - cons!

This location is a bit busy and disorganized. I tend to choose other locations further out from the city simply because they are cleaner and better organized and a more peaceful shopping experience. At this location I found it a bit humorous that their clearance items were still hundreds of dollars. Sometime they have true sales on quality items, just takes awhile to find those products and at this busy location they are lacking in these bargain products.

This is my preferred Carson's. I've never had a problem with exchanges or returns that I can recall. My most recent returns/exchanges went very smoothly. The staff members have always been very helpful and friendly. People may knock the annoying spray girls, but on my last visit I had about 3 of them helping me at once as I was looking for a new signature fragrance. It took a little while, but finally one came along with great recommendations.

When I go to Harlem Irving Plaza, I usually... never make it out of Carson's before the other stores close. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what stores are in this mall now, as we rarely make it farther than Auntie Anne's before the mall closes. I always seem to spend more than I planned here, which to me speaks not only of the good sales and product selection, but also the sales people.

Shoes shoes shoes....why is the shoe section always a crazy place to be?  This was more unpleasant than normal.  I stood around holding a few pairs of shoes waiting for a sales associate to assist me with a size from the infamous back room.  They came and went.  After 20 minutes of standing there trying to grab someone's attention I finally got a noticed.  Or so I thought, let's just say it didn't go so well and I never got those shoes.

I find that Carson typically has the exact same items that you'll find at any Macy's - with an average of 25% higher prices.  In addition, the employees at this particular location are rude.  They generally don't acknowledge customers at all unless approached, and I have experienced a similar situation as a previous reviewer when returning an item.  I did have the receipt and tags, but the tags were removed when the item (a jacket) was given as a gift.  The clerk was very "snotty" (to use the previous reviewer's term, it fits so well), and asked why I would remove the tags unless I had worn it and then tried to return it.

This is the last time that I will ever do business with this particular  Carson Pirie Scott.  I had to exchange an unwanted gift today.  I did not have a receipt but the tags were still on the item.  I did not want cash back, only a merchandise credit.  The heavy set blonde in the Juniors Department was very rude and snotty,  She didn't want to honor my exchange, and then had to call management to get an okay because I wanted to use the credit towards items in the children's department, not in her department.  Have no idea why that would be a problem since it was a store credit and no money was to be exchanged.  The store is always overpacked and messy, and I have absolutely no desire to dig.  I am not sure what happened to this company.  I remember that it was more upscale in my youth.

Well stocked three story store.   If you happen to live on the Northwest Side, this Carsons' is much preferable to the one in Linconwood.  Good selection in all categories.

Carson Pirie has always been a favorite department store of mine.  They are nice, without being snooty.  And lately, it seems like some of their prices are coming down more.  I like the fancy dresses they sell on the 2nd floor, and I enjoy checking out the perfume counters.  Although when those annoying stalker ladies come with those samples and want to spritz me, I run the other way!

This Carson's is perhaps the best department store currently at Harlem Irving Plaza, with a wide variety of clothing. It's not as great as the main store in the Loop, but my parents and aunt used to enjoy shopping here a lot. I used to buy them Carson's gift certificates from the Loop store so they could redeem them at this location.

Carson Pirie and Kohls are the only reasons to visit this crappy mall.  The Carson's shoe department is heaven because the teens who hang at the mall only buy junk, so there is an abundance for the rest of us!
