Review from Edward R.
Went there for dinner with my wife and 22-year old daughter, and was very satisfied with the food, ambiance, service, and price. My daughter thought her pizza was the best she had in a long time, while my wife greatly enjoyed the salmon. My veal parm was pretty good.
As others have said, a nice location away from the chaos of Clifton Hill. -

this gets three stars only because it's one of the better bets in a town chock full of of chains galore. we visited carpaccio after seeing their ad in the local map given to us by our hotel. the reason we chose it is because it's one of the few places that offers more than one vegetarian option.
the location is a haul from downtown niagara -- definitely not walking distance -- so be prepared to drive and spend some time getting there.
when we arrived, the place was dead. there were many employees standing around. yet it took them over 10 minutes to help us -- huh? service was lackluster, especially from the woman with the long gray hair who seemed annoyed that she had to wait on us. at least the other woman -- the one with longer, curly dark hair (wish i got her name) -- was kind and helpful. again, i'm not sure why we seemed to have two servers -- maybe that was part of the problem?
food was pretty good but nothing special. and it wasn't cheap, either. we ordered the Fromaggio di Capra Cartocciata (goat cheese wrapped in filo pastry over grilled veggies). this was quite tasty and probably the best part of the meal, though it was a bit oily for my liking.
for our main course, we shared the margherita pizza, the mediterranean pizza, and the gnocchi verdi. the margherita pizza was better than the mediterranean. both had lackluster crusts, and the red sauce on the margherita pizza was too sweet. i'm a jersey girl, so i'm all about a good crust and killer sauce.
the gnocchi dish was quite interesting. the bright green gnocchi were shaped unlike anything i've seen before -- tubular and long, resembling green beans or asparagus more than gnocchi. in fact, we all thought they had brought us the wrong dish when it arrived at our table, it looked that odd. however, it was tasty and the sauce was really good (very creamy and heavy, though, so i'd recommend sharing this dish).
they have a few beers on tap, but nothing special. if you want better pizza, go to Taps on Queen -- their goat cheese pizza was surprisingly good. if you're looking for more ambiance and don't mind waiting a long time to be served, go ahead and give carpaccio a shot. -

Excellent food & atmosphere away from the chaos of Clifton Hill. Worth a repeat visit everytime I'm in the area.

Excellent fare away from the Niagara tourists. If you've ever been to Niagara Falls (Canadia side) you will be inundated with all the chain restaurants and Ripley's Believe it or Not. It's like a mini Las Vegas. But cruise down Lundy's Lane, west of the chaos and you'll find Carpaccio, a much more relaxed atmosphere.
