Review from Andrea L.

It's not the most mod looking dining space, but its spacious and functional.
Drives me absolutely mad when I'm sitting on a wall booth and I can almost touch elbows with the guests at the other table.
It was a really quiet night, a table or two were there, but Jerry; was fantastic.
Very courteous, prompt, charming and thorough.
We ordered the crab cakes, filet mignon and the bread pudding (they happen to run out and we got cheesecake instead! Yippee!)
The crab cake was enormous. It was bigger than a hockey puck!
Not overly battered and delicious with the chipotle relish underneath. My stomach was 1/2 filled just from that one crab cake.
Along came the filet mignon, which was grilled to perfection, medium rare. I was able to hold the knife with 3 fingers and barely use any strength and I was still able to get clean slices off. This was the first time that I have not finished a dine out entree..that's how filling the appetizer was. I had about a scoop of mash potato left and I had to give in, otherwise there would be no room for the cheesecake! Even then, there was a blob of cheesecake left over.
My boyfriend and I were both hanging off the edge of our seats. Dinner was at 7:30, my stomach didn't ease up till about 9:30/10pm!
It was all very delicious and great value for a $28 menu!!

Review from Vincci L.
A nice, casual relaxing place within the Hilton Hotel for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A open space, situated next to the lobby. I come here when I want some good service and delicious food. This place has never failed me.
West coast cuisine is the focus here; there are many seafood dishes. Lunch has many salad and sandwiches, as well as entrees. My favourites are the avocado and shrimp sandwich-baby shrimp salad, avocado, and lemon caper mayonnaise, on your choice on freshly toasted bread. Also get a choice of side of salad, fries, sweet potato fries (woot!), or soup. This is super yummy!! Another recommendation is the Mediterranean wrap-grilled wrap with roasted peppers, onions, portobello, zuchinni, eggplant, mozza, and cucumber yogurt. This is very very good, freshly grilled veggies, all wrapped up in a sundried tomato tortilla.
For dinner, try their seafood pesto linguine. My love of pesto, along with fresh salmon, halibut, and prawns, make this dish absolutely delicious!
Extensive wine list is available.
Service is always great, and all requests are always accomodated to. Ingredients are always fresh. This is a great place to meet up with friends, or a simple business lunch.Listed in: Lunching in Richmond

Random Thoughts On My Dinner For Two
I was happy to try Carmichael's because they list some of the nutritional values on their menu (Hilton Eat Right). It would be great if they listed the nutritional info for more of the items, though.
Our server was very courteous but seemed to be covering too many tables, so service was way too slow.
It was a little jarring to be enjoying dimly lit ambience while little kids in sweatpants were eating at a nearby table, but that's actually one of the quirky things I love about hotel restaurants.
The cranberry slivers baked into the fresh bread were yummy and unexpected. The chicken breast, wrapped around broccoli, sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese, was okay. It might have been better with more filling, but perhaps that would have raised the fat content right off their Eat Right program! My husband's beef tenderloin with crushed baby white potatoes was good value.
For just $5-10 more per person, the same fare at The Keg would be way better.
The only reason I'll go back is for drinks with a party of 6 to take advantage of the centre table with high back teal upholstered chairs. They look inviting.
