This festival has been around forever. It's in a nice huge park in North Vancouver overlooking the water. It's very relaxing to attend.
I hadn't gone to this festival in years and they have improved the security presence all throughout. They have police parked right in front of the park too.
This festival has food, junk food and clothing/jewellery for sale. A large stage with great live shows and bands. They also have a dj that plays music on the food section side.
You have to know where to go for the food. In my opinion most things didn't look too appetizing I guess cause everything has to be precooked but I guess that's expected at festivals.
I was definitely in the mood to trying out some delicious Caribbean food but
I made the mistake of going to MAMA Bev's Tent. It was absolutely gross. I was loving the idea of trying something Caribbean and try the jerk chicken because I always hear about it but it turned out to be a big disappointment.
We had ordered jerk chicken meal ($10) with Jamaican patties ($4).
To add insult to injury when we finally found a place to sit and eat our food when I opened my box I only received a leg and thigh on rice. For $10? come on. If I would've know I would've never ordered it. I definitely felt cheated.
Anyways nevertheless I had fun! The music was great, the coconuts looked good and so did the corn on the cob. :))
The view is spectacular!
