The contact page of Carbrea's website includes "home phone." That sums up this winery perfectly. This place feels like home. The owners may not be pouring your tasting, but that's because they're busy working in the garden.

The wine may not be the best you've ever had (it does get better every year), but it's pretty darn good. Many of the grapes are grown on the property. Stop in for a tasting and grab some cheese and crackers. They even have cutting boards and knives so you don't have to byo. Then take a seat at one of the farm tables next to the vineyard. We usually find ourselves here around sunset. There's no view of the water from this spot, but that's not necessary with all of the flowers and grapes. The absolute best part about this place is how unpretentious it is. You feel so welcome here. Even if they're closing the tasting room, you're welcome to buy a glass or bottle of wine and hangout in the yard. "Make sure to latch the gate on your way out," said the owner. "We need to keep the deer out of the grapes. They love 'em." I do too.
