It's been 8 days now and I still miss my bike. After biking to spin class (yes there is some irony to that) my workout was met with a missing bike, cut lock and a broken heart.

To help speed the mourning of my cherished bike I looked towards yelp to  point me in the direction of a new bike store - Cap's.

I came here to find a ear to my sad tale, they were willing to provide me with support and care that I needed in the form of a new bike.

Cap's staff were very helpful as a casual biker looking to do more road cycling. They asked all the right questions and took the time to understand what my cycling needs and dreams are. After a long discussion they pointed me to a new bike.

The only thing that hurts more than a bike seat is the price of a new bike. Thankfully Cap's gave me a good price (i compared with other stores) and gave me a deal on accessories.

Now that I have my new bike I can rest easy knowing I have a mode of transportation that is ideal for my new career as a vigilante. I'll find you $%^&& #@(#*$'s for stealing my #$*%&*# bike!

My experience at Caps was beyond my expectations.  A sales associate named Marie helped me over the course of 3 days, deciding on which bike to purchase. I searched all over Vancouver at as many bike shops as I could in hopes of finding a new mountain bike that I could use multi-purposely.

Marie's sales tactic was to first ask me some questions on what I wanted. What will you use the bike for? how often will you use it?  do you want it for long term, short term? multiple use or one use?

And it was through these questions that revealed my true desire. I didn't want a mountain bike at all! Marie convinced me that for the long term a folding bike would prove to be the most useful and durable. He was right! I've had the bike for 3 years now and it was the best purchase of the year.  I can go shopping with my bike and bring it in the store without a lock, using it as a shopping cart. I can go mountain biking with it, long distance biking, traveling. Just about anything! and to boot, the seat doubles as a tire air pump. Which has been sooo useful for those unexpected times where your tire looses air.

Marie was very sensitive to my financial boundaries, which was refreshing. Caps was the only store that gave me outstanding customer service. I was prety much ignored everywhere else.

They also included service for 1 year after the purchase of the bike and gave my tips to keep it running well.  Marie also did a 15 min demo on practicing how to fold and unfold the bike. which only takes 60 seconds.

wouldn't go anywhere else now. Excellent customer service, honesty and very educated staff makes Caps a 5 star for me.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike.... :D

All my bikes have come from Caps - one of my favorite childhood memories is of my dad taking me to Caps to pick out my first two-wheeler:  bright green with a red and white banana seat, streamers and a  white wicker basket.  And a bell.

A week ago I purchased my first bike after many non-riding years.  I have been in and out of Caps a few times in the last year in my quest to find "The One".  The last couple times I was assisted by Marie, who is very knowledgeable.  As a previous reviewer mentions, Marie asks you a lot of questions to help you understand bikes and what you need in a bike based on what you will use it for.  She is super friendly, as are the other employees I have encountered.  And patient, not at all the sort of super pushy sales pitches I have experienced at another bike shop I recently visited.

The store has a very homey, family feel to it.  Maybe because Caps has always been a family run business.

I finally settled on an Electra Townie 7 speed, in Matte Eggplant - sort of retro cruiser-like but a bit more upright.  Marie let me test drive lots of different bikes, on more than one visit, until I found this one.  The shop has lots of accesories and the mechanics gave my bike a thorough inspection before they let me take it home.

I will continue to visit Caps for all my bike related needs - the service is just excellent.

I've been looking for a new road bike for quite some time as I've grown really into the sport this past summer so I called into Caps to see what models they had (I live quite far away from here) and the gave me a list of bikes that were my size and their prices so I decided to come check it out.

The conversation involved three bikes, all models having my size or around that size that were on sale.

I came over here within the next three days and it turned out that the guy helping me at the store couldn't find any of the bikes they said they had over the phone (maybe they were all sold in the past three days?!?!) or that the bikes they said were on sale were in fact not.

However, he did find one bike that was on clearance that I could have been interested in, but I was worried about the size (it was 2 sizes bigger than what all the other bike shops were recommending). When asked if I could try it out, he was extremely reluctant to let me do anything besides take it around the parking lot so I left in a hurry. Most other road bike shops I've been to help you understand what you're investing in, let you try the product out for at least 15 minutes (if not a lot longer), and really make sure that the bikes the right fit.

I have only dealt with one store attendant in person and another over the phone so I definitely cannot speak for everyone as my experience for the shop was limited and the other reviews quite positive. That said, I feel as though they were dishonest with me over the phone and that they were trying to push a product that was clearly not right for me to get rid of old inventory.

I bought my bike at a used bike store, but I often go to Cap's for accessories and advice. Like any good bike store should, they have wonderful, helpful staff. For example, I was recently attempting to install a carrying rack, and the parts that came with it didn't seem to fit my bike. I rolled on up to Cap's and they were able to sell me the correct parts, as well as give some hints on how to do it. They even gave me some chain grease, gratis, to make the bolts stick better. (I know, free grease. Pretty exciting, huh?)

I don't know where they keep them, but Cap's also has a collection of old bikes, including those old big-wheel ones. Every summer they race them during an event called Sapperton Days. I've never actually seen the race, but it looks like a sight to see.

Anyway, this is a family business with loads of history in the community, so I feel good about supporting it.

Best bike shop in the Lower Mainland. Certainly the friendliest--for some reason many of Vancouver's dealers can be best described as "eccentrically grouchy." Not so here. Many varieties of bikes--including folders--very helpful, friendly staff, and generally better prices than other places.

The only reason this excellent shop doesn't get five stars is they lack a professional fitting setup--plenty of people do fine just going by an inseam measurement, but a professional fitting makes a big difference for long-haul or competitive riders.

I didn't buy my bike here but I have bought all my accessories at this location.  They almost always have what I want for my bike and are very helpful.  I plan on pickign up some more girlie cruiser bike accessories this year.  Maybe they will even have a bike basket for my little dog Puck!
