Pretty good food.  I had a ton of prawns in a spicy garlic butter sauce.  Meg had a veal  cutlet.    Not great...  Inconsistent service. Had to ask for bread after a long wait.  Our waiter had some friends at another table so he forgot about us a lot.  We finally had to get the owner over to finish out our bill.  He apologized and wanted us to stay for a free desert but we were anxious to leave.

    5/23/2012 1 Check-in Here

Friend of mine warned me before I left for Osoyoos that there was really no good places to eat...   I was skeptical...   seemed really negative.

There were a few reviews here... and the check-in guy at the hotel suggested this place as well... so we figured we'd head over for dinner.
Called up first.... but they said they didn't take reservations except for larger groups (8 or more I think it was).

Showed up...  they sat us in a lounge area to wait...  no one came by to offer drinks, but the wait was so short... it wouldn't have mattered.   Seated...  waitress came by and handed out menus... addressed the specials of the day... and everything was fine so far.

Wife and I ordered a starter of a tomato salad...   the other two people we were with didn't go for a starter.   The salad was tomatoes on a plate...  with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  Nothing much to go wrong...  but the tomatoes weren't very flavourful...  these babies didn't grow up i dirt...  they were definitely hydroponicly grown.   *sigh*   mediocre start...

For mains...  the other two people had the Chef's Fettuccine, and Pasta primavera...    wife had veal parmigiani, with a side of spaghetti with tomato sauce, and I had a spicy tomato sauced sausage linguine.

Nothing was very good...  we swapped around tastes of everything (except I didn't try the Chef's thing... because it was a seafood dish, and I don't do seafood).   The pasta wasn't fresh... definitely dry boxed stuff...    and the sauces... well... they were pretty....  so-so.    The veal was a little tough (frozen veal would be my guess...  possibly a little Chef Microwave involved in the process too)... the sausage was run of the mill (although that actually made it a standout in my dish... sad!).   The dish with the most promise was the pasta primavera... but... it was bland bland bland.    The recipient of it tried to liven it up with salt and pepper... but there was only so much you could add.   I felt it was a little light on garlic...  so thankfully we had a bunch of garlic butter from the bread they brought out... and I suggested he add a dollop of that into his basil cream sauce...   he did... and said it made it a lot better.

So... I left the place realizing that maybe my friend was right...  and thankfully the place we were staying had a kitchen in the room... because the next day we didn't take any chances...   I made the breakfast myself for us... and everyone was pretty happy about it.

Our next meal... we went to A&W.  If I'm going to get bad food... it might as well be cheap food.

My suggestion...  stay away from this place if you have any idea of what Italian food is... or tastes like.   Blah!   :P

Been here before and it is a good spot. Had a good waiter who was attentive and brought bread to the table soon after we sat. I ordered the Soup of the day which was loaded with chicken and was very flavorful. The main pastas were good and spicy. There was lots of flavor in the food and the portions were generous. This is a good spot for Osoyoos and the kitsch decor adds to the experience. I have been there twice now, and although it is not the best Italian I've had, it is also not the worst I've had in fancier places.

Campo Marina is an average restaurant, at best. I've eaten here twice now and had consistent experiences.
During summer tourist season, the restaurant is crowded, noisy, and servers are over-worked, resulting in sub-par attention to patrons. The facility is clean and the service is friendly, but make sure you get there early, since you cannot make reservations. The dining experience is not worth a long wait with hungry children.
The food is OK, but surprisingly bland. I've had microwaved frozen Italian meals with more flavour.

No reservations, but you can wait in the 'lounge' and sip your drinks on a comfy couch. However, if you're hungry you're just going to have to wait.

Everyone in town decided to come the Friday night we came. We waited a while but that's okay. It's a small town with not a lot of places to eat (that has good food at least).

Hands down one of the best gnocchi's I've had. Not overcooked and not undercooked. Just right. The house wine tasted like.. a house wine, if you know what I mean.

The bread they served beforehand was so soft and fresh I could have eaten the whole loaf. The service was okay, but oh well. The food was good.

On our first night in town, I consulted the Osoyoos visitors guide for a restaurant recommendation. Campo Marina was described as "voted the most popular restaurant in the South Okanagan." We called ahead, but were told that they only take walk ins. We didn't mind waiting when we arrived since the restaurant came with such accolades.

When we were seated we ordered a basic pasta with olive oil and garlic and a three dish sampler with a baked cannelloni, fettuccine alfredo, and a mushroom gnocchi. We felt like we were waiting for a really long time and then a couple that were seated after use called over the busser to express their discontentment pointing at their watches saying they'd been waiting over an hour. Our food came out shortly thereafter, as did theirs. Our waitress stopped by their table and said, "Are you happy now?" Yikes! I felt really uncomfortable by the horrible service. She actually said the same thing to them two other times when she came by. As we were eating we heard another table also loudly complaining about how long they had been waiting. Clearly, service is an issue here.

The food was okay. I'd pass on the fettuccine alfredo and the mushroom gnocchi, but the cannelloni was quite tasty. However, that evening and into the next morning I was super thirsty, a sure sign that there was A LOT of salt in our dinner.
