This is one of our regular spots. Drinking on Dundas is way better than drinking on Queen, less douchey, more cute girls, and people from around the way. No shirt tuckers or out of city dudes at this bar. The bartenders make some pretty wicked cocktails too. I can't get fully stuck in here though, cause it usually gets rammed and we have to go to the next spot.

Review from Chris P.
I stumbled in here with Dishan W. after the elite event last night. I chose it out of nothing more than a complete drunken random selection and asked the bartender what the bar is called so I could check in.
This is a pretty cool place. Its dark and has a cozy homey sort of feel. The whole front wall is open which added to the ambience. The furnishings are all made from dark wood and are all lined up against either wall so you get a choice between sitting on the bench attached to the wall or on the chair. I opted for the bench, somehow I just prefer to sit on a bench while drinking. There is some comfort to having your back against the wall, now there is only one direction anyone can potentially come at you.
The funkiest part of all though is there is a guy behind the bar playing records. Really, records. Not an ipod or even CD to be found anywhere. The music mix was very ecletic and really got the energy in the whole bar going.
When we got there the place was fairly empty and that situation amazingly reversed itself within about 30 minutes. It got incredibly packed and extremely loud. Some people began to tango in and around the tables. Everyone was smiling and saying hello. It felt as though everyone in the bar knew eachother, even though we didn't.
Price wise they are reasonable and need to mention--there is no table service, you've gotta trek up to the bar to get your boozage.
The night ended like this--
Dishan - So how drunk are you on a scale of 1 -10?
Me - On a scale of 1- 10 how drunk am I??? I'm about a 25.
Dishan- Hahahaaaa
I'm just too funny when I'm smashed!!!Listed in: Places I Have Been With Other…

Went to Camp 4 recently for the first time at the recommendation of a friend. Walking in I expected a typical Ossington dive bar, attitude and all. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed, totally unpretentious bartender who enthusiastically ran through their beer options with me and my friend, even offering us a sample.
The decor is simple, but effective. The narrow bar offers an intimate feel that is very inviting and as Michelle C remarked, makes you feel like you're in a bar you "wish was in Toronto."
Living in the East, I don't frequent this bar as often as I would like, but whenever I'm in the west it's always near the top of my list. -

Toronto, ON
New to the Dundas/Ossington area, Camp 4 does not feel like a Toronto bar. Instead, it feels more like that bar you stumble into in another big city (think Chicago, New York) that makes you feel at home and go "Man, I wish this place was actually in Toronto". All of the tables are reclaimed wood and walls decorated with big recycled silkscreen frames. Very cool. The bar is very well stocked, giving the impression that it had been open for years.
Perhaps my favourite thing about this bar was the fact that they were selling glass jars of Sangria for $11 (equaling 3 glasses of wine per jar I was told). The jars came with a little ribbon and handwritten tag like a jar of homemade jam that said the date and what "night" it was at the bar. I believe this is a Wednesday night special, but it would be awesome if this was a regular summer offering.
It was hard to find a table when we were there which I found to be a positive - sure, sitting down would be nice, but I'm seriously thankful that this place seems to be flourishing because I can see myself becoming a regular. I'm not usually a bar type but I'm a sucker for good drinks and a good atmosphere. I'm looking forward to trying more drinks and seeing what the crowd is like on other nights. -

I'm with Michelle C on this one.Crowded. Definite edge spilling out on to the sidewalk in a vibe area. Even the doorman had moxy. 20's crowd very + mixed with goodlly helping of Toronto reserve( poliite to 1 old person there).will definitley subject to scrutiny again when perspectives not clouded by hot company .
