The voice on my voicemail was confirming my eye appointment the following day.
"Eye appointment? What eye appointment???" I thought...
But as it turns out, I had booked my follow up appointment TWO YEARS EARLIER, and promptly forgot all about it. But the Calgary Optometry Center certainly did NOT lose track.
Once it was established that I had indeed committed to something 2 years past, it was apparent the appointment time wasn't going to work. The location in question was the Avenida area, and I now work downtown. Mid afternoon is too inconvenient.
"No problem," they said. "We have a location downtown as well, and your doctor works out of both. We can send your information there... "
Done deal.
So... I went for my check up, and a couple of things did stand out:
-- The location is pretty convenient for downtown workers, as it's right off the LRT, next door to Moxies.
-- I didn't have to wait at all - I walked in, and was immediately taken back to start the exam process.
-- The exam room and area behind reception is surprisingly spacious, especially given it's downtown real estate. I appreciated not being crammed into a little room like when I visit my family doctor.
-- Dr..Shen has a great "soothing" quality about her, making the visit painless. And thanks for not up-selling me additional reading glasses for work!
No complaints at all.
