In my last occupation, we worked with the Calgary Flames organization on a promotion they ran, and still run. In my job before that, we worked occasionally with them through the purchase of tickets for the social club. My review is of the organization as a business, and not on the team.
From the perspective of a business customer purchasing tickets, they are a pleasure to work with. They are very communicative and do their best to assist in drumming up excitement for the tickets. They will also do little promotions around these tickets to give people something extra. Prior to their child-focused promotion, yours truly had the unique opportunity of riding on the Zamboni during an intermission. Aside from the Calgary Flames flag I had to hold onto (I am, remember, and Oilers fan), it was a lot of fun.
As a partner in my last role, we worked on a new platform for the Flames, the specifics of which I cannot discuss. But it was a unique opportunity to work with different individuals within the organization. And believe me, these people are passionate about their team and how everything runs. It definitely felt like no detail is overlooked. Due to the technical nature of this platform, they are also open to new and innovative ideas. What more could you ask for out of a hockey club? -

Though I've moved to Toronto, the Flames are still my home team (someone put me out of my misery if you ever catch me cheering for the Leafs). Though times were tough in the mid to late '90's I stuck by my team and it was great to be on the red mile during the '04 cup run.

Next to the Habs, the team I most hate in the NHL. Basically it all started with those hack artists Gary Roberts, Jamie Macoun and Brad McCrimmon. Sure they have the odd Lanny or Iggy that no one can hate but maybe it's because they really are the Canucks' biggest rival that I just love when they struggle. I mean, I'm howling after they sign the overrated Jay Bouwmeester and by trading Dion Phaneuf have no identity at all.
Put it this way, since they won the Cup in '89, it took them until '04 to win another playoff series (and they get to the Final!). -

Lots of people are down on the Flames right now, but the organization itself is top notch. Ken King is very available and even answers his own email. Try emailing the president of another multi million dollar corporation and see if they get back to you.
