I am a super duper fan of these pasteries. They are moist, nut-free, and the icing is not overwhelming but totally delicious.
At the moment, I am trying to eat healthier and increase the overall health of my body BUT I will have to include Cakes by Robert within this strict regime because they are too tasty to give up! -

I've ordered from Cakes by Robert many times for various special occasions. Their cakes are by far the most delicious special occasion cakes I've ever eaten. They're always fresh as if they were made the same day. The frosting is sweet and the cake is moist making it the kind of traditional dessert that could have been your grandmother's recipe. The decorators are fabulous and accommodating and can pretty much create any image you ask for. I asked them to create a very complicated logo (the Toronto Fire Dept crest) and it looked exact! They also created a BMW, beach scene, and cruise ship for other occasions. They're also much more affordable than other cake places. It says Thornhill but it's really not as far as you think (just off Yonge, just North of Steeles) and they also deliver for a fee.
Forget Dufflet, Paulines, Le Rocca, Nadege, and the other overpriced fancy Toronto bakeries. Cakes by Robert blows them all out of the water. -

I know nothing of the cakes at Cakes By Robert, but I do know they make a beautiful cookiegram that tastes great too! I have to give a solid five stars because I cannot think of anything that went wrong with my Cookiegram ordering and delivery process.
I had my heart set on sending a cookiegram to my boyfriend on Valentine's Day - once it was in my head, I would not settle for any other gift idea. So I did my research of all the places in the Toronto area that do cookiegrams. The going rate was $50-60. Whaaaaaat no, way too expensive. I could make my own giant cookie and put two twenties on top and still have it cost less than $50. However, I didn't know how to hide the cookie at home and get it to his office in the middle of the day. I also would have had to buy a special box for it, the decorating icing, and a heart shaped cake pan... so I decided I should just pay a professional to do this.
Cakes By Robert had by far the size vs decorating vs cost ratio. Other places had large cookies for a good price, but the decorating simply wasn't up to par. Since I am shopping online I have no way of knowing if the cookie tastes good, so it really is the presentation that counts.
When I called to order, I asked for the Valentine's Day chocolate chip cookie exactly as it looked on the web site with a personalized message. The woman who took my order was quick, efficient and friendly. And I was pleasantly surprised when the total was an even $45 (this is for a downtown Toronto delivery). I actually thought it would be more like $50 with delivery.
When my boyfriend did receive the cookie, he and his co-workers were very impressed with the presentation and just assumed the cookie wouldn't taste very good, perhaps like a certain cookie franchise found in shopping malls. They were wrong! The cookie was so fresh and delicious. I finally got to have a piece the next day (today) and it's still really good.
Cookiegram for the win! -

I am SO happy with this store it's not even funny. I HAD to write this review so everyone would know how amazing they are.
I'm eating my b-day cake right now. AMAZING. Lifelong dream come true of having a photo cake (of my favourite artist). Not many customized cakes have the photo cake option.
Absolutely delicious, ready in two days of order, and the cheapest gourmet cakes in the GTA (I compared prices).
No competition out there as the taste is amazing and the price is the lowest.
Oh and they are made in a nut-free environment and there are many options like without dairy, kosher, etc. etc. They also have cookies and special balloons. Don't know much about them but if they're half as good as the cakes, they'd be amazing. -

Cakes by Robert is an amazing bakery, filled with fresh and delicious baked products that are 100% NUT FREE!
Their baked goods are always fresh with the most delicious cake that is moist and remains moist for days after it is baked. To finish it off, the store only uses buttercream icing, which is just smooth and creamy and literally melts in your mouth.
Opened during the year of my birth (1984), I am sad I only discovered this birthday cake heaven this year BUT happy that I can now partake in their yummy treats and use Cakes by Robert for all of my party needs or when I have a craving from my good old sweet tooth.
First off, this store offers 1000's of designs to choose from when it comes to customizing your cake, cupcakes, cookie cakes or special edible loot bags.
You can either go with one of their pre-made designs or bring in a picture to screen onto a cake or a picture of a cake that will give the bakers a concept of what you want.
And for all of you brides-to-be out there, this delicious bakery does wedding cakes and treats for your upcoming engagement parties and/or bridal showers! For your special day (from what I heard), the team or at least one member will have a full consultation on what you want for your big day and what would be the cake of your dreams. They will continue to work with you throughout the process to make sure you are happy with the finish product.
FOR THE KIDS, Cakes by Robert throw amazing NUT FREE birthday parties, which include a feast of individual pizzas, decorating cupcakes, making ice cream sundaes and enjoying tons of birthday cake and fun! It is quite the sugar rush!
As for prices, I find their prices to be reasonable for the amounts of baked goods you would be receiving per order.

Cupcakes with flowers, hearts or stars - 6 for $10
Cupcakes with screened images - 12 for $27
Cakes - Range from $23 to $135 depending on the size
Cookie Cakes/Cookie Grams - Range from $18 to $25
Cakes by Robert does do order pick-ups in the store and does deliver on request.
