ive never bee to their new location; i always went to the one on queen street east in leslieville, which has since closed down.  this was always a very funny store because it had many cajun paraphernalia thatd be perfect for a mardi gras celebration, but in that doesnt exist in toronto so what gives?

i think though, that the stuff they carried was so festive and fun, that it could have been put to good use for any type of raucous party, bare boobs or not.

what i went there for though, was the food.  they had awesome gumbo, great little meals with cajun rice like southern fried catfish, or blackened catfish.  youd walk into their store, order something at the back (usually the special) and sit at one of their metal tables, pour through a left behind newspaper and that was that.

they also had shelves upon shelves of crazy cajun sauces with names like "burn your fucking face off" salsa or stuff like that.  thanks for the warning.

i dont know when im going to get myself to laird and eglinton any time soon, so cajun corner, you will be missed.
