If you enjoy coffee and would prefer a non Starbucks coffee experience try Cafe Sola. Great coffee and great food in a Cafe that has created a style of it's own.

When you don't want Starbucks and you're in Saskatoon, where do you go? Why, Caffe Sola of course!!

It was a quick visit on my way out from the city, but my vanilla latte hit the spot. There isn't much to the interior, it looks like it could be a theatre set with lots of windows, some furniture and otherwise dark walls. But the girls in the shop are sweet and friendly and it hit the spot!

Note: The hours on the door said the cafe isn't open during summer hours.

I enjoyed a latte flavored with in-house made toblerone syrup! What a treat! The baking is also delicious. Love the local art and music as well

They say, surprises come in the most unlikely places and this has to be on the top of my list.

A wonderful little coffee shop in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. What made me go there? I had a conversation with someone who kept insisting i go to this little place by the bus depot. He found it to be up there with some of the best coffee he has had in his travels. I very well couldn't ignore it , now, could i?

"On tap' for their  that day was a medium blend called Mexican Maya Vinic . Smooth  bodied,  flavourful but not overhwhelming from start to finish. It reminded me of Salt Spring Island coffee - the blend that I'm thinking of skips my memory. :(  brain fart.

I bought some for my own home to grind for myself as well as one of the espresso blends they highly recommended.

What was great about my  experience there was the people working They really knew their coffee: the grinds, the origins, what worked best for what type of coffee maker etc. They genuinely enjoyed what they sold.

On top of that: the best lunch sandwich and salad experience I have had in I can't remember how long. That's right! It beats anything I have ever had in Vancouver.  I highly recommend their stromboli.  The fresh made in house bread is orgasmic my friends!!! It tasted like they just baked it . Un freakingly fresh and flavourful.  The accompanying salad of goat cheese, basil, greens and the balasmic dressing was the perfect balance to the sandwich.

If you go...you have to have the stromboli. It's the only bread they make in house and you can taste it the difference from the other choices on their menu. I was told the other breads were acquired from an outside source. This could explain why a friend who had eaten their before but ordered a different sandwich than myself had a rather dry and disappointing bread experience.

It was the perfect lunch and  I had it in Saskatoon. I am floored.

One of my favorite places to go to for lunch or a beverage and dessert.  Highly innovative menu, eclectic decor, and very friendly staff.  I've spent hours here reading, thinking, working, etc.  The clientele is diverse.  I've met people here from university students and profs to prominent figures from the local cultural scene to people living in the neighborhood or simply getting off a bus at the bus depot across the street.  It's original and sophisticated, but not overly pretentious.  The best kind of place, in my opinion.
