Another java establishment where they get to know you pretty quickly and grind the beans, rinse your cup, and froth milk as you step up to the counter. Numbing yourself with cuppa after cuppa, your tastebuds sometimes needs wakening. I experienced a robust kick that rounded out very smoothly after tasting my first Americano Misto here at Caffe Napoli. I look forward to numbing myself with it.
Just remember not to bring a mug with their competitor's logo....or suffer the verbal jabbing. -

The name of this place is so misleading....
When I went to Napoli last summer, I fell in love... with the city. It's an amazing place with a unique culture compared to the rest of Italy. We also had espresso every single day probably 3x per day.
So, missing Naples, I decided to check out this coffee shop.
Clue #1--French painting reprints on the wall. Cute, but not napoletano at all!
Clue #2--Photos of parts of Italy, but what about Naples? There wasn't anything especially significant of naples in this cafe.
Clue #3--Milano brand coffee. Where is Naples and where is Milan??? They aren't close!
Clue #4--Whip Cream out a can for my espresso con panna. wtf? :(
The espresso itself was too bitter and not smooth at all. It definitely did not have that sweet, nutty, smooth taste that went down so easily. It was quite disappointing.
If you want more of a Napoletano type coffee, try Cafe Artigiano (because I heard from the owners of Cioffi--italian deli in burnaby, that the roasters there are from Napoli.
Other than the coffee and paintings on the wall, this place does have an italian bar (cafe) feel in terms of how the space is laid out.Listed in: Latte? Capuccino? Americano?…, Driving down the Drive

This coffee bar is perhaps one of the most genuine Italian venues on Commercial Drive. People from all walks of European life come here to fill up the thin long room and watch sports, drink espresso, and chat.
Most importantly, Napoli hosts some of the most dedicated regulars of all the coffee shops, making the room as amicable as Cheers, and becoming one of the first stores to create a facebook group for the diehards. With its small outdoor patio in the front, and the larger outdoor space at the back, it fills up with people just looking to kill time and talk with whomever comes in.
It also has a large screen with satellite reception, and plays Pay-Per-View sports for the true enthusiasts. Every Saturday they show boxing matches, and if you like watching two grown men pound each other to bloody pulps, you're not alone and should arrive early for good seats.
The food is delicious, panini sandwiches with ample pickled peppers, and the coffee is authentic, brewed by skilled hands. -

The coffee itself is good. But really I'm mainly talking about the location. It's close to 1st ave intersection with a bus stop right out front. The small outside area is enclosed and your view of Commercial is limited. You have buses stopping every 15 minutes and traffic waiting for the light to change. That being said the barista was nice and allowed me to pay of my coffee later as I didn't notise until after it was made that they only took cash
