This 'larger' version of the downtown chain is one of my favorites.  Lots of room to spread out, a large room with big windows, outside patio with enough interest to warrant spending some time outside.   The service here, as with most Artigianos, is always impeccable, and I love that they are just as excited about latte art as the other "higher-grossing" locales.  I think this place is the sole reason I could see myself moving to Burnaby Heights some day...

But, if you have read Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidental, you'll know that the washrooms are the biggest 'tell' as to the quality of the place.  Thankfully, they pass with flying colours (and I absolutely want that copper basin sink for my house one day!)

All my friends love Caffe Artigiano, and drag me along to the West Van location, where I have various tea drinks. They are always satisfactory, but keep in mind it's pretty hard to mess up tea.

This past Thursday, I was headed to SFU for an early morning final, and urgently needed a lift. I stopped in here, and got a chai latte. I was surprised at the roomy interior, lots of places to sit down, study, socialize. I could see myself stopping in for a study sesh one day, if they have wi-fi.

I'll be honest, I don't drink coffee. Period. Maybe that's why I don't find this place very special. If you are one of those people who LOVES coffee, I would recommend stopping by. I had a gander at the menu, and apparently their coffee is so great, they can sell a 1/2lb. bag of it for over $100.

This would be just an a-ok from me: my Americano tasted pretty good (I didn't need to over sweeten it), the interior is spacious, location is central when meeting old friends. There's a decent amount of tables outside, but the noise of passing cement trucks, semi-trailers and buses could easily ruin a quiet morning or a chit chat with a friend.

What won this Caffe Artigiano a 4th star was my trip to their loo. Spacious, clean, and what's this? The same faucet that I have at home: an open flow faucet that you can see the water running out of from the top, adorned with a handle with the same look and feel of a turn of the century pump.

You too would give it an extra star for this, trust me :-)

I was thrilled to see a branch of the Cafe Artigiano chain opened up on Hastings. It's very light and airy, especially on a sunny morning, and fits in perfectly with the Euro-Italian vibe of Burnaby Heights.

Great lattes, of course, just like the original location. The blueberry muffin was a little too crumbly, however - I don't think it was just me being messy when it got all over the place.

Still, I loved sitting at the sidewalk table with my hunny and coffee in the sunshine, like a Folgers ad, but with better coffee.

Tasty coffee here and it's in an excellent location -- I like not having to go downtown to get a good latte.  Just like the Calgary location that introduced me to Artigiano, there was a great atmosphere, helpful staff, and a great drink.

I am undoubtedly a coffee culture vulture. Any where that has good coffee as Artigiano seems to, and respects the bean in the way that they obviously do, gets my vote.
This cafe is in an area that lacks a community village, so it's providing what I view as an essential element; a place for people to gather together and also offering a good product.

Coffee lovers delight! Have time to get coffee and actually sit back? Here's the place to go.. especially if you want an Art Latte! Challenge your barista, and ask for an art latte that is not a leaf nor a heart, and hopefully you will inspire them to do something eye popping :) So far.. I've been impressed with their "Lion" art, also thought to be Jesus! hehe :)

The one that tops the Starbucks in this city. Also the one Artigiano I know far away from downtown. I really love coming to this place, as the coffee is far up and above how Starbucks taste (Sorry to all you Starbucks addicted fiends!). And the place itself has a great feel, from the high ceilings, to the wood finish, and the very friendly staff, there are many things to like. The area where this place is located has definately grown in the last 10 years (Willingdon & Hastings), and continues to this day with new businesses and building being raised.

I sometimes make the effort to actually come here, when I want a good coffee. The prices are a little higher than Starbucks, but the quality alone makes up for it, and you get a great place to sit around (very big and spacious inside), a handful of seats on the street, with tons of free street parking. They do not open late though, I think only up to 9, or 10 at the latest.

Disappointing Americano and a terrible Lemon Blueberry muffin. Only one bite needed to know it was days old and not edible. When I mentioned to the clerk the muffin was inedible, she said "oh well", picked it up, and threw it in the trash.  Then walked away.

Too bad, this place used to be the best, and was my favorite coffee vendor in Vancouver.

Hopefully this is just an 'aberration' from the normal Cafe Artiginano experience, but I certainly won't rush back anytime soon.

I'm glad they opened up a Caffe Artigiano near me.  The coffee is roasted to perfection and their vanilla latte's (my usual) are delcious! I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Caffe Artigiano since they were the first to put a night little design into my latte. :-D
The muffins are pretty good, and the sandwiches look good too.

Out of all the locations, this is my fave!  Every time I go, there's always FREE parking, seating and no wait! ;p  Stupid downtown!!!

Great service staff.  Always happy visiting this place.

Good coffee and pretty decent desserts here.  We had the Lemon Coconut Bar and Chocolate Silk Cake.  Silk cake....... I don't get it.  It was good, but I found the cake to be very hard.  It was sitting in the fridge so I guess the chocolate hardened up, but then after some time it did soften up and it was de, wait for it... licious!  The Lemon bar thingy was awesome!  I would definitely go for that again! =)

Caffe Artigiano outside of downtown FTW!!!!

I am a fan of Cafe Artigiano and am happy for its success in Vancouver. Thank you for providing refined and oldschool style coffeehouses that please the eye and pallet.

Location & Atmosphere: I love coming to this location to read and study because the sunlight pours in on a nice day. Walking distance to some of Hasting's best produce stores, Italian markets and recreational activities (Eileen Daily pool, McGill library, Confed Park).

Lattes & Staff: Although this particular location is home to an award-winning barista, the staff and lattes are subpar in comparison to the downtown ones. But hey-ho what do you expect, it's Burnaby, people (self-deprecation is acceptable in truths)!

P.S. Thanks to Kreag S. suggestion of Spanish Lattes and blueberry scones, I am now addicted to this afterschool snack.

The latte I had was pretty good and the pastries looked great but I only had time for a quick caffeine fix.

nice big open space - Artigiano's foray past the Vancouver border to the east.  Great job - as ever - on their beans roasted by 49th (also the previous owners).
