A true Italian cafe with all the right modem touches. It recently went through a big renovation and is a great neighbourhood spot to sit and gab with the neighbours. If the owner, Frank, is there be sure to say hi.
Recommendations: Americano, espresso, and any of the food. -

Stopped here for coffee before the Yelp Elite event this evening!
This is one solid coffee shop. Really smooth espresso. Their vanilla in their lattes was nice, vanilla-y, and a little buttery, if might say so myself. The owner is really passionate about his coffee and it shows in his business. He also bakes the little pastries/bakery items himself!! I'm thoroughly impressed. If you want a nice, authentic Italian corner cafe, look no further.
The only thing I would improve on is the canned whip cream. I still prefer fresh whipped REAL cream (yes, like the ones starbucks (bleh) uses).
They also have gelato! -

I like the ambiance of this place and the owners are really nice--cool vibe with lots of sunshine.
However, the taste of the coffee trumps all. After guiltily maintaining my Starbucks habit across the street for the past months since it opened, I finally ventured inside to give it a go. What a regret.
The expensive espresso machine and authentic pulling couldn't cover up the dreadful taste of these beans. Definitely check this place out, just not for the coffee. -

After a whirlwind coffee tour today I finished my day at Zucchero. Tried to go to Thomas Haas but it was closed and ran into this cafe.
Very old world Italian. I expected a really nice espresso and what I got was opposite to what great Itaiian espresso should be.
Great location and visibility. Had a great feel sitting reading the paper and talking to other guests but the coffee needs some attention. -

What a gem the owner of this place is! My wife and I and a friend were out walking with our baby today, the baby was hungry and started to cry. My wife popped into this cafe and asked if they could heat up her bottle, the barista was happy to help. My wife was then sitting on the patio (totally empty)feeding baby, my friend and I and my dog stood on the sidewalk. The owner pulled up and parked in front of us, went inside briefly, then came out and said " hey folks did you order coffee from here?" I responded "no", he said "this areas for customers only", I said "my wife's just feeding the baby" he replied " I know, that's why I didn't say anything".... I've had the coffee before, it's ok, but I will never go back to a place where local families are shooed from an empty patio by an ignoramus because we didn't buy anything..this time.. There will be no next time, douche bag!

Mike is always friendly and the drinks and sandwiches are great. Much better coffee than the 'chain' places, and tasty food and relaxed as well. If I still lived in Kits, I'd still be going there all the time.
