My husband and I ate dinner here and really enjoyed it, though I am curious why this French-themed restaurant serves Italian food...
The servers sang and played music while we ate and were comical (I thought, anyway-I see that some other Yelpers didn't enjoy it.)
Our dinner was vegetable soup and spaghetti, both very good.
The restaurant had a closed in but comfy feeling; couldn't believe the restaurant stretches to the building next door and has an enormous upstairs. -

I ate at Restaurant L'omelette which is the one and same establishment, just that they don't have the white table linens and marginal lower prices.
I went here for breakfast and there was a lot of hype and a long line. At first I thought man the food must be good, so many people. Was I fooled and ripped off quickly ( 4 of us 85+$ for a basic breakfast).
I ordered an omlettee whihc was supposed to be their specality ( didn't seem so), my mother has the french toast without the powdered sugar and maple syrup ( it was un palatable). The wheat toast was dry like a biscuite.
My wife felt like throwing her ham and cheese sandwich out of the window........ don't get fooled this is a tourist TRAP. -

Don't let the accordion player fool you into coming into this place.
There's waaaaay better food in this city.
Soup du jour might have been from last week.
The vegetables in the soup....probably from a can.
Escargot was possibly overcooked.....or just old.
Caesar salad.....meh.
Wify's muscles were dry......sitting in cream and white wine sauce
(aka...cream of mushroom soup....again....probably from a can.)
Maybe I should have gotten the pizza.
Or maybe I should have just not gone here.
I hear Conti Cafe is much better nearby.
This is what happens when you do your research AFTER you go eat somewhere. -

FYI: I ate at Restaurant L'omelette, but the credit card receipt had Le Cafe de Paris on it and the two restaurants are somehow connected.
Not sure what the story is, but I would avoid it.
Anyway:
Was looking for a quick decent meal after arriving in Quebec City.
After walking by numerous Pizza and Pasta places tying to find a reasonably priced lunch we decided upon this place. For a French city there is a LOT of Italian food.
My Kid got a pepperoni pizza. The sauce was excellent, but the pizza was not cooked enough. In addition we ordered a 10" and they brought us a 6" so they gave us another 6" and cooked this one even less.
My wife ordered the Quiche Lorraine it was a tiny piece of Quiche served with French fries. Not very filling, but it was only 8.95 - very cheap for Quebec City.
I had an order of Escargot and they were very good, but the bread that came with it was not very fresh.
Once you soaked it in the garlic and butter it was OK.
For my meal I ordered the Veal and mushroom sauce, the mushroom sauce was excellent and the veal was OK. It was also served with French fries??? I would expect mashed potatoes.
The veal was 15.95 and the Escargot was 6.95. I think 15.95 for veal with French fries is a bit much at lunch time.
I also got a glass of Merlot. It was listed at 7.95, but I was charged 8.95. Hmmmm.
Also keep in mind there is about 12.5% tax on meals in Quebec City. So a quick lunch is about $70 by the time you are done. Somewhat expensive by Boston standards. -

My girlfriend and I ate here while on vacation. We were warned by our hotel concierge that it was "touristy and overpriced," but we honestly (and shockingly) had a hard time finding French cuisine in Quebec City and wanted to give it a shot.
My girlfriend described the menu selection as reminiscent of what would be found in the French countryside. I had the beef bourguignon, she had the veal scallopine - the dishes themselves were average, nothing to write home about, but certainly not offensive.
The service was attentive - the food came out promptly, my water glass was topped off fairly regularly, and the wait staff spoke fairly good English, which was helpful to me, being a non-French speaker.
My one gripe was the music selection. They played 80's pop throughout our meal, punctuated by occasional songs by a wandering guitarist/singer. That could have been better.
All in all, it was an average meal in an average restaurant. If you're looking for a blow-your-mind meal, this isn't it. But, if you're looking for solid French cuisine within the city walls, Cafe de Paris isn't a bad choice. -

I ate here with my coworkers last night, it was recommended to us by a Quebec City native that we are interacting with on business. Now, I am not sure if she actually enjoyed the food or thought we would enjoy the atmosphere but it wasn't too good either way. I had the french onion soup (flavor less and not that money onions, surprisingly). I also had the rack of lamb, which was really really good. However, the vegetables tasted like nothing and were over cooked. Also, for the price, paper place mats wtf? Last night was the "New Paris" parade, and it was kind of neat to watch that out the window. But, 1 bathroom stall, for that size restaurant? Again, wtf. One of my coworkers wanted potatoes instead of rice, potatoes were brought. But whatever. this restaurant gets a big ol' WTF
