One of my absolute FAVOURITE places to pop in for a quick dessert-type snack to take on the go. Whenever anyone comes to visit me here in Vancouver, a stop at Cafe Crepe is a MUST.
Not only is it delicious, it's also the perfect portable snack that allows you to munch, indulge and walk/shop on the go!
So what's my favourite? Well I like to keep it simple. The butter and sugar crepe is my number one choice, and at at less than 5 bucks each, you can't afford NOT to try it out!!! :) -

Thought I would treat family (wife, 4 year old and 2 year old) to brunch.
SERVICE WAS SLOW. We drank our $6 coffees and left. Told staff it was painful waiting for service. Nothing.
GM stops me on sidewalk and apologized and gives me his business card. Unfortunately I don't feed my kids business cards.
If you have a young family with limited attention span this restaurant is NOT for you. It was sad explaining to my 4 year old why she wasn't getting her french toast. -
Review from Trish R.
I used to like this place but there was a very interesting mishap that I just can't get over and I won't be going back.
The waiter took my order. I waited 20 minutes. The waiter brought my food. The food wasn't cooked. I flagged the waiter to complain. The waiter took my food and I specifically asked that they just heat up the part that's not cooked and bring it back because I was fine with that and I didn't want to wait for it to be cooked all over again. I waited 15 minutes. The manager came back to say they were out of the dish I ordered. I said but I asked for the food on my plate to be heated. He said he will not charge me for it and walked away. So, disappointed and confused, I left. Sheesh. -
Review from Angie G.
I was told to visit this place because their crepes are amazing and the prices are right. I can honestly say they directed me correctly! I had a tasty swiss, spinach, and egg crepe with a coffee and orange juice on the side.
When I got my crepe I couldn't believe the size! It was a huge triangle slice bigger than my hand! It was so good; definitely worth the $7. Speaking of price, my whole meal with drinks only cost me about $11! I was so happy! Being a new-comer to Vancouver from Minneapolis, MN I'm not used to these new amped up prices. I've been trying to be frugal in the best kind of way. I've visited Cafe Crepe a few times now, just trying out new breakfasts/lunches and I've not encountered a bad crepe nor service!
The waiters/waitresses are all very helpful, polite, and smiling! The kitchen staff are all behind glass so you can watch them prepare the foods in front of you (I like this because then nobody can spit in your food *giggles* juuuust kidding!!) The host that greeted us is head of the kitchen staff and he was all smiles and waves when we entered and exited!
I highly suggest this place for anyone looking to pop in for breakfast or lunch. Perhaps I'll see you there! -

I came here twice in one week, actually.
First time, my friend and I split a pitcher of beer. He had the brie crepe and I had the Nutella/strawberry one. While mine was tasty -- though I don't know how you could mess it up -- from someone who loves brie, that crepe was AMAZING. Even now, I'm still jealous I didn't order that.
That experience was fine. We were out the door pretty quickly. It wasn't too busy, though the hockey game was on.
The second time, I had the nutella martini and the burger and fries. The martini was to die for. It wasn't too thick, and not overly chocolately. They also put Nutella on the inside of the glass, and I really had to restrain myself from scooping it up with my finger and licking it off.
Now, about the burger. I just wasn't feeling a crepe, and the waitress said their burgers are good. And it was. Big piece of meat cooked to perfection with toppings. The fries are shoestring fries, and they didn't skimp out.
Just like my first trip, there weren't that many people this time around, however, but the food was great. -

I'll admit, the place lacks atmosphere. I'm not sure why... I mean, there are cute booths, giant art prints... something in their branding just lacks enthusiasm.
My sis and I shared a spinach, feta, mushroom and swiss cheese crepe and a straberry banana nutella crepe. Both were delish. The savoury needed some tomatoes though, to bring out more flavour. I asked for sauce and was given ketchup and hot sauce. Hmm. Ketchup just seemed too redneck to use on such a beautiful crepe so I opted for a wee bit of hot sauce. That did did the trick ok.
The dessert crepe? Incredible. I mean, can you ever go wrong with fresh fruit and Nutella? I think not. We happily gobbled it up. I'm craving it right now, in fact!
What I liked most about the crepes was their consistency. Usually I find (and like) crepes to be very moist and thin. These crepes were firm, crisp and fluffy. I've never tasted a crepe like that before and I really loved it. Not that I don't like the standard fragile/moist crepes, but these were just as great in a totally unique way.
My Illy decaf latte (I was impressed that they serve Illy!) had a burnt taste to it. Well, so this place is for crepes and not for coffee. I can deal with that.
Some people across from us were eating burgers. They smelled so good it hurt, but I mean, I didn't come to a creperie for a burger, so I passed.
I think it's easy to overlook this place simply because it's a chain (I tend to favour the small independent shops), but let's be honest: crepes are crepes. Still, I would prefer to eat them in a cozier place.Listed in: South Granville

We only came here to grab a drink. Yes, we went to a crepe shop to grab drinks.
They do have a decent selection of alcohol though and since we just wanted to relax and escape from the rain, it was a good spot.
They have a few beers on tap and I was able to try the Granville Island Winter Ale. Definitely a fan of the Canadian brew now. I wonder if they have it at BevMo? Several of my friends had their cocktails and they were pretty well made. Prices are very reasonable here so we had a pretty good time once we got our drinks.
However, it does take FOREVER to get anything here and it wasn't exactly a busy night. It seriously took over 20 minutes for our server to bring our orders. There's only one bartender there but seriously, their service needs some improvement. The servers also like to congregate around the cashier and just chat. Took another 15 minutes for my friend to get a JD on the rocks. Kinda hard to imagine that it'll take that long to pour a shot into a class with some ice. Check took awhile too.Listed in: a rainy weekend in vancouver

I've always thought this crepe chain is for tourists thus over-priced and not as tasty as one might expect.
Recently I had a meal there. Savory prociutto crepe with a cappuccino. The service was superb and great atmosphere, but the cappuccino was the WORST one I've ever had in my life. If there's the word "cafe" in the name, better make sure coffee items are above par.
The foam was comparable to soap suds, or really bad, airy, stiff meringue. I tried to mix it with the espresso on the bottom but didn't work. Whoever made that cup must've had no experience and probably never tasted a good cappuccino.
That meal ruined my mood that day, until I had a normal-grade cappuccino few doors down. -

I go to Cafe Crepe every so often as a little tradition with a few of my friends. The crepes are always tasty, even if a little overpriced. The service is pretty fast, except for on friday and saturday nights when the place is packed.

Surprised some people here are unhappy with the service. Everyone I've met here is very nice and the food is very good and reasonably priced.
Of course, the nutella banana crepes are awesome, but even their lunch menu is strong -- burgers, sandwiches et alListed in: My Favs

It looks pretty from the outside and it is a good place for people watching but that's it. The service was extremely slow and the crepe was crappy. I came here specifically for the crepe but my spinach, cheese, and egg crepe did not live up to my expectations. There was nothing special about it, and I didn't even finish it. For the price, I expected more. Cappuccino was ok, acceptable. I think they need more waitresses because the poor girl was taking all the orders from 6 different tables outside, which was why it took forever to get her attention. I should've gone back to Bon Crepe!!!

I've wanted to try Cafe Crepe for years, but simply, it was too built up. The positives were that the staff used a healthy $3 of feta cheese in my "Spinach Feta and Tomato Crepe," and the service was fly. I was not impressed with the quality of the crepe, it was small, expensive, and eggy. If you're craving the crepe, check out the Richmond Night Market while the weather holds out. Theres a "Japanese Crepe Stand," which is yelp worthy indeed.

I come here when i have my egg and cheese craving. What better way to serve it then in a thin like crepe pastry coated in butter?!
Hhmm maybe it's not the healthiest choice but it definitely hits the spot. Especially if you are hung over! I like that you can walk up the window and order. There are not many places in town like that. Prices have gone up which kind of sucks and has reduced my visits.
I rarely sit down and eat in this place, for some reason it doesn't feel right. -

Food:
Fresh Strawberry & Bourbon Crepe with Maple Syrup.
The crepe was pretty good--nothing spectacular but it was a bit pricey I thought ($9 or so).
The hot chocolate was pretty crappy. It hardly had any flavor at all.
The atmosphere was okay. It was very busy and the tables were not cleaned and there were scraps on the floor.
It really bothered me the way they wrap the crepes! They scoop them into these wax paper like holders and it flops--making it difficult to eat!
I asked for a plate and when my friends asked for plates--they had none left!
All-in-all, I plan on perfecting my own crepes at home and getting creative with toppings.. at least it'll be much cheaper and the quality won't be far off :) -
Review from Jason P.
Good crepe place. They have a variety of crepes, all pretty good and reasonably priced (by Seattle standards). I tried their Cafe Crepe omelete (ham, prosciutto ham, brie, and basil) and it was good. Good size omelete, heap of hash brown, and butter drenched toast will be sure to fill you up. They also have sandwiches and paninis which are not too bad, some a bit pricy for the serving.
Service is inconsistent. They could improve on that. All together, not too bad. -

I went here a while ago on Granville at Robson and it was totally boring... The Hockey Game was on, and no one was inside.
They boringly walked over and asked for my order, and then boringly dropping off a pathetic lame tasting and looking Crepe on a plate with no SMHAZZZ.
I'll never go again. I can find better and delicious Crepes on Granville Island. -

This morning we got up and felt like it was a crepe kind of a day, something a bit savory. Where else does one go for crepes on south Granville but right to this place, right to the source. I ordered the Chicken, emmental, egg, and mayonnaise crepe and an Orangina. Which by the way took me back to being a kid living in the middle east sipping on one of these things in the middle of the dessert swatting fly's. come to think of it I had to swat a few fly's today while sipping my drink, I've come full circle. The service was good and the atmosphere is fun, sort of Parisian cafe complete with dutch poster art on the walls.
fun fact: If your looking for a cheap beer head to this place in the evening, cant beat their prices. -

Boring, unenthusiastic, barely passes for "touristy." If you like sweet crepes, you'll have a pretty decent meal, but otherwise, the food is generally overpriced (in particular, the pizza is damn near frozen and the breakfast toast and eggs are sub-diner quality). One time when I was here, some poor hipster on the waitstaff decided to put Neutral Milk Hotel on the stereo, and that made it even more wrong than it already was.

Review from Alex N.
Visiting Canada for a weekend, I was ecstatic at the idea of having a crepe was so exciting and a must! Café Crêpe was a large disappointment. I ordered a strawberry and whipped cream crêpe and what I got was a soggy, doughy, pancake. UGH!
And service was horrible. Took forever to get anyone's attention about anything. Save yourself and walk down the street a little bit and eat at the other café. -

I become addicted to Crepes when i went to Paris years ago...they have them every where..like hot dog vendors in North America...they are sooo yummy and there is something so great about eating a crepe walking around the streets of Paris...
I was happy to know that Crepe Cafe did a crepe reminiscent of the ones I had in France...not quite the same atmosphere..they do give it the old college try with the dark glossy painted walls..photos of french images etc.. and the crepes themselves are pretty good...I like the tuna with mayo and cheese for savory and the banana and nutella for sweet....
This location isn't nearly as busy as the ones on Granville Downtown and Robson so you never have to wait long for your food...
Fun fat..they have super cheap booze...beer is like $3.95 a pint...not that crepes and beer are a good combo..I just thought that was interesting... -

Decided to go to the local Cafe Crepe with my wife and 2-year old and was completely disappointed with the lack of service. We were seated right away, however, the table was still uncleaned and the tab from the previous customer was still there. After waiting 5-10 minutes with no waiter to greet us, we asked the manager to get our server. We waited again, but still nobody came to serve us. At this point, we were completely frustrated and wanted to leave. We complained to the manager who did nothing but blame the fact that the restaurant was too busy. Our booth was very close to the kitchen, so the whole time, i had seen a bunch of their servers - including the one who was supposed to serve us - chatting away. The manager's apology was completely insincere and did not seem to take the complaint seriously. It's obvious that his incompetency is part of the reason why this place is rated so lowly. Until this Cafe Crepe learns what customer service is and how a real restaurant is managed, I don't see myself coming ever again.

Review from Ash V.
Excellent crepe place! The food was very fresh, and they have a wide variety of crepes for a reasonable price. I was happy to notice that they also have a couple beers on tap, which contributed to the European feel of the place. The prices were very reasonable, and the ingredients were hot and fresh!
Better customer service would have earned one more star. The ordering process seemed very disorganized, and at one point someone walked off with my crepe. The employee didn't even ask him if this was the right one, she just dished off the crepe she just made to the first person standing in front of her.
However, we did make it a point to stop by here one last time before we left Vancouver to take a few of their delicious crepes to go. I will be back here the next time I visit Vancouver! -
Review from Cynthia C.
We were starving after our flight to Vancouver and had 4 hours before dinner. So we needed a quick and light eats place to subdue our hunger until our dinner reservations.
This creperie had a huge line outside for crepes to go so we decided to share a crepe. Luckily we shared because the portion size was HUGE. We had the ham, mushroom, and cheese savory crepe. The outside of the crepe wasn't too crispy but it wasn't soggy either. (I despise soggy crepes.)
Meh.. overall it was ok. I've had better. -
Review from Gwen B.
We thought it might be a good idea to see the Canadians' take on French food, so after a morning at Granville Island and before our long trek back to Sea-Tac, we stopped at Cafe Crepe.
We were seated right away, but in keeping with the Vancouver trend, we had problems flagging down our waitress when we needed something.
Still, I would come back here in a heartbeat. My ham and cheese crepe was FANTASTIC! I waffled back and forth with what I wanted to try, but I figured you couldn't get more French than a jambon et fromage crepe. I'm not usually a big fan of ham, but with the sweet wrapping of the crepe, it was perfect--gobbled that sucker right up!
Definitely enjoyed the atmosphere, too. Seemed to be a popular place with the locals and we were able to see and chat with some interesting characters! -

I recently ate at Cafe Crepe on Granville & Smithe. In all the times I have been to Cafe Crepe, the experience has been consistent: great food but not so stellar service.
As always, We really enjoyed what we had: Nutella banana crepe and Smoked beef, cheese & dijon crepe to share. And the service was unusually helpful, offering additions that might go well with our meal and delivering the food fast despite the busy lunch hour. It was an unusual Cafe Crepe experience since as I mentioned before, the service is usually less than great (I have experienced rude waiters galore!).
As i waited at the cash to pay with debit I noticed a sign stating, 'the staff who up-sells the most in the next two weeks gets a $200 bonus!!!' No wonder the staff were so eager to give us suggestions for our meal. Perhaps that sign should be placed out of the customers line of sight?!
Would I recommend Cafe Crepe to others? It really depends on what you value in a dining experience: food quality, level of service, or both? -

I have only been to this location once, and walked out after 10 minutes. Went there for dinner and a few minutes after ordering the waiter informed me that what I had ordered was "out of stock", which was a Pepperoni Pizza. I ordered something else (a Chicken Panini), which was also out of stock. I wasn't in the mood to 'settle' for a meal I didn't want, so I went elsewhere.
Having been to the other Cafe Crepe locations I know they are capable of good food and service, but maybe because this location isn't a central for them they don't want as much food going bad and keep less in the Kitchen. I doubt I'll ever go back because I don't want to waste another 10 minutes ordering items they don't have. -

Ok, so Cafe Crepe. Goofy attempt at being "Paris Cafe" but this place is a blast. Me and my friends always pile into a booth here on the weekend and kill their 6$ martini's till we're ready to go dancing. The patio, when it's open in the summer is hilarious, it being on Granville right in the main drag. They have food, but I'm here for the martini's.

We decided this would be a fun final lunch in Vancouver after a morning of wandering around Granville Island. This place was super busy on Sunday around noon but we were seated right away. I ordered a ham and cheese panini with fries. I thought the fries kind of tasted like McDonald's fries, but my panini was delicious. My meal was big enough that I saved the other half of my sandwich and ate it later, it was even good cold! We ended up chatting with a local (who I think is a regular customer) sitting at the table next to us about different fun things to do in the area. Definitely glad we tried this place, will have to come back and try the crepes.

It was just ok. I found it to be overpriced. We got the special crepes since they have alcohol in them and figured it would be a real treat. However, they were way pricier and we couldn't taste any difference from the regular ones that our friends got. The batter was a little doughy for my taste. I would go again in a crepe craving pinch, but otherwise it was kinda meh.

Service was abysmal. Horrendous. If a quality restauranteur wanted to teach people what NOT to do, he would have an unending supply of staff in this joint. I wish they had a straight line to the manager/owner of this outlet/chain.
Our server didn't show up till at least 5 minutes after we were seated. And we were only the 3rd table in the place around 1000h on a Sunday.
As an aside, you American's don't know how good you've got it as far as proactive, attentive staff go.
Food came up. The dolt waiter spilled cream from the creamer on the table while setting coffee and tea down...didn't even bother coming back with a wet cloth to wipe it off the black table top.
Breakfast was really good, although the hash browns tasted as if made from plastic.
We weren't asked how everything was the customary 2 minutes in, and no offer to refresh coffee ever came.
Once finished, the idiot waiter (whose name was 4 letters, started with an E, ended with a C and had an R in it) chose instead to bus every table that was no longer occupied instead of take our dirty plates away.
We sat for another 5 minutes before eventually walking up to the cashier to pay the bill, which we said we hadn't received yet.
If you enjoy basic, mildly attentive and friendly service, please do not eat here. You will be sorely disappointed. -
Review from Kelvin G.
Service here is HORRIBLE! My family and I walked in for dinner famished. We got seated at a booth, but it took a while for us to get menus, and even longer for one of the waitresses, who were dressed like they were at a nightclub, to take our order. When she came, she asked what we wanted, and then immediately told us to wait a few minutes and bolted to huddle with other staff members. We got up and left. Worst dining experience in Canada. I would steer clear of this place.

Great place for crepes and coffee on the go. I've never tried their dessert crepes but their savory eggs, cheese and ham crepe wasn't bad. The latte was okay similar to Starbucks or any of the major coffee chains.

My husband and I drive up to BC for 2 reasons... to watch pro Hockey and eat damn good crepes! We all know down home in Seattle there's not pro hockey, but there are crepes, but they SUCK! We try and try and try to relive the yumminess of Crepe Cafe crepes with no such luck. We order the swiss and egg, it's soooooo good! I just ate one this weekend and now I want another!

as we walked around south granville, our tummies grumbled for some grub and then we stumbled across cafe crepe. it's a tine lil place that kinda has a goth-y look to it. we wanted to get some dessert crepes even though it was the middle of the day. we got a nutella/strawberry crepe along w/ a maple syrup/banana crepe. the crepe was a bit on the soft side but had a decent taste to it. the portion size were huge especially for the nutella/strawberry crepe.
overall, the crepes were average but satisfying. it's got a good location for the "i've shopped so much and need a sugar rush now" crowd. -
