Nothing better than a warm apricot crepe in hand with an illy cappuccino in the other while gabbing with your boo or a sister from another mr and enjoying a yummy, gooey crepe.
I would say it is an absolute must do!
PS: to the bad reviews... I agree, for some reason when you eat in it goes from yummy to crumby :(
2 Stars if dining in
4 Stars if it's hot in your little hands and your out and about. -
Review from Jen T.
Many moons ago when I visited friends in Vancouver I had a chance to try crepes from the Crepe cafe.
My friend's boyfriend use to work at this store. Straight off the plane I was given some savory chicken crepes. That thing was nasty , just wrong . The flavors didn't mix well- dough too soggy , chicken really dry .
When eating in store it was still pretty crappy . The crepes aren't memorable ... wait maybe they are , because I still remember them as bad. -

Nutella and Banana, I come to get my fix, for me and my friend, and for a 'chain' like place I come to you! I for one, like to go to different places to try new things, but Cafe Crepe always seems to get me, with their open front concept where you can either order from the windown and watch these guys cook it up, or sit in, while they serve you on the inside.
This one on Robson always has the crowds of people all the way till closing time. Usually the last one's on the block to close, as everything around them is retail. They just do what is right in regards to their name, they make good crepe's, whether your into sweet ones, or savoury ones, whatever time of day it is.
I also come in here for the other stuff at times, like the super long hot dog they have, and other foods when I want to go different, but it is hard when their crepe's are so good. -

A good selection of sweet and savory crepes. The coffee is a bit on the strong side. It's a good place to go for a taste of Europe, euro-style. I like it for casual brunch.

I was downtown yesterday rushing to get to Commodore to watch the hockey game and the plan was to grab a quick bite at Babylon Cafe. As my husband and I walked by Cafe Crepe, I made one of those screeching halts. My nose caught a wiff of that delicious buttery crepe and my body was tilted in a 45 degrees angle. It was so strange and almost cartoon-like.
My husband just looks at me and says "Alright, lets just eat here instead..."
Woohoo!! Europa Ham, Swiss Cheese and Mushroom Crepe. Best meal of the entire night!Listed in: Lunchin' Downtown

Cafe Crepe is a great establishment, reasonable prices and serves a nice breakfast. I had the ham and swiss crepe, and coffee. We arrived at 11 am and while the place was busy, our server, Raffi was attentive and pleasant. We beat the crowd as the line outside was starting to wrap the front of the building.
Cafe Crepe is a small chain in Vancouver, BC and has consistent, quality food. Savory or sweet, this place is good! -

We stopped for breakfast and got the feta, spinach crepes. They were tasty and our waiter was friendly but it took a long time to get our food. It was $28 plus tip for 2 crepes, one tea, and a small Americano.

Review from Nicole S.
We visited Cafe Crepe in September and were very disappointed with the service. I even saved my receipt from over a month ago so I would remember who our server was. We were served by Jeff on 9.9.11 and my husband and I were both disturbed by the lack of even a basic smile from our waiter. When we gave him our order he didn't say thank you or great choice or even OK. He just wrote it down and walked away. We were like, did we do something wrong? I mean, we ordered alcohol and each ordered a dinner entree, we couldn't understand what the problem was. We both agreed that if you don't enjoy people then you probably shouldn't be a waiter. The food was just OK, overall not a good experience.

Review from Nathania Y.
My brother said that the crepe here was pretty good, so when I was visiting Vancouver, I searched for Cafe Crepe on the first day and was completely disappointed. I ordered the crepe with rum, but I could not taste the rum at all. I think just for a regular crepe with nutella, it was really overpriced.

I don't know if my low rating has more to do with the fact that I didn't get to choose whether or not I ate here, but I found my spinach and feta crepe lacking in flavor - possibly the most mediocre crepe I've ever eaten. But what are you supposed to do when you're dining with your inlaws, niece, and nephew? Service was actually friendly, which is odd for Vancouver.
The facade, the ambience of the interior and menu are trapped in the 80s, but I think it's kinda cool that you can order a crepe from the window on the street. The ingredients tasted as if they were of low quality. I think they used frozen spinach, but I may be wrong. -
Review from Lea T.
Delicious crepes, amazing fries and a Nutella thickshake to die for. The service was a bit slow, but we asked to sit somewhere quiet and they found us a comfortable booth out the back in the bar/diner. Just make sure you take your patience with you.

Cafe Crepe is a successful chain in Vancouver... Large variety of sweet & savory crepes, Easy place to grab a quick bite while shopping on Robson or South Granville, Vegetarian options, Cafes include both interior seating and a walk-up "to go" window for fast take-away...
i had the a margarita pizza and customized it and had fries added on top of it to make it a poutine pizza and man was it delicious. i would go back just for this. -

For a quick meal, and cheap cocktails this is a good place.
Service was prompt .
I had a grilled chicken burger and salad. The chicken was good but the bun was way too much so i just ate the breast on its own which was a really good size.
The salad was boring and left much to be desired.
Limited menu, but where can you get a double martini for 5$ Downtown Vancouver? -
Review from Kathy D.
We stopped by here for a mid-day snack from walking around downtown for so long. This place is pretty cramped since limited seats. It is more of a take-out and eat as you walk kind of place. Service was decent. There was a line out of the door and you just order as you walk in. You have to wait for your number in order to get your food. It's pretty cool that you can see how they make crepes through their front windows.
Normally, I order dessert crepes but since I was so hungry I decided to try out a chicken crepe. The chicken crepe was definitely big and very filling. I wasn't a big fan of it though because of how filling and how thick the crepe dough was. It just made me feel greasy and fat! Otherwise, my mom ordered a delicious pastry and hot dog styled in bread and I enjoyed that ten times more than my order. Next time, i should try out their other sweet crepes, hoping to give them a better review!
But I gotta say. I have found NOTHING that has been able to beat the real crepes in Paris! -

Might sound odd but I go here for their hamburgers more than their crepes. Their hamburgers were a great deal but they recently jacked up the price. However, I still order this as I think it's one of the best in the area. Their fries are crispy and tasty with the seasoning salt they use. If it were not for their burgers, I'd give this place three stars as I find their service a bit slow and unenthusiastic and I've had much better crepes elsewhere.

When you walk past this place you can't help but be completely enthralled by the smells. Who doesn't like crepes?
Went in with my group of 6 to have crepes for lunch on Thursday afternoon...the hostess was extremely snotty. She didnt think that they could accomodate a group of 6 "big people". I was like BIG? Who says that? FYI..no one in our group is "big"...or "fat" ...we were 6 really petite people...I think she meant adults but right then I was totally annoyed.
Once seated (oh and all 6 of us fit just fine in a booth thank you)...we ordered our crepes...huge portions.. I got a veggie crepe and it was so bland and boring. It needed salt...and flavor..and just everything.
My aunt ordered a panini that was actually a little better.
The fries were oily and not fresh tasting at all.
Overall....yuck...wouldn't go back. -

Yummy crepes, delicious hollandaise sauce on the eggs but eggs were poached a bit to hard for my liking and the english muffins were not toasted first.

When staying in the Sutton Place Hotel, you are blessed with an amazing restaurant with one of the best breakfasts. There are times, however, when you don't want to deal with the shishi-ness of a AAA 5 Star hotel restaurant and have something equally good, but without all the fluff. That's when you go to Cafe Crepe, right around the corner.
Having a large variety of both sweet and savory crepes, Cafe Crepe is probably as close to the authentic flavor of French crepes as you can get. The crepes themselves are paper thin, but just so flavorful and satisfying. If I'm craving savory, I usually go for the ham and cheese crepe with bechamel sauce... so fattening, but oh so delicious. For sweet, go for the sugar and banana flambe with grand marnier. So much flavor... so much culture.
While I would normally ding this place a star for only decent service, the crepes more than make up for it. Be weary when talking to the crepe Nazi in the front, one wrong word can send your crepe into the trash, and your order to the back of the line. -
Review from Linh N.
Wow, this place sucks. The crepes were mediocre at best. The eggs that we ordered didn't come out the way we asked for it to be prepared. The waitress was a little dishonest when taking our order. She asked us if we wanted whipped cream and strawberries in our crepe in a manner that made it sound like they were optional/free toppings but were actually about $4 more which is like, half the price of the entire crepe/eggs/sausage combo. The sandwich that we ordered also came out without mustard, which we explicitly asked for and when we hailed the waitress for some, it took her another five minutes to bring it out.
The service here is incredibly slow and bad in that you don't really get served what you want. I can't believe people like their crepes. They're rubbery and filled with strawberries covered in overly sweet syrup and topped with cheap whipped cream in a can. -

As a chain, cafe crepe has done pretty well in Vancouver. This is my favourite location downtown. It's clean and has good service.
Most patrons are here for an a break from robson street shopping- it's an excellent place to have a break/snack.
The layout is kind of awkward, but it is one of the better locations for staff and management. -
Review from Gabe A.
After an early morning flight into Vancouver and a taxi ride into the heart of downtown, Kat, Jeremy and I stumbled into this place in the middle of a construction area looking for some breakfast. I had a coffee and a ham crepe to prepare for a morning at the museum down Robson Street. A lot of fun art prints on the walls.

We've enjoyed crepes at Cafe Crepe twice now and each time we ate inside. First, the bad: never, NEVER go inside if you want quick service. This morning, we were at our table for just over an hour before our breakfast was served. This seems to be the norm so if you're in a hurry (or have anywhere to go for the next two hours) make sure to order from the front window.
Now for the good: the crepes are wonderful, light and fluffy with delicious fillings! We've opted for savory crepes both times but the sweet crepes look like they'd be perfect for dessert one evening. There are so many choices, I think I'd be in crepe nirvana if I could try samples of all of them.
Don't miss Cafe Crepe when you're strolling on Robson! -

I feel like this is one of my fail safe lunch places... (or late night snack!)
If I want to eat something that I know I'll like and that too, cheaply - here it is: A spinach, mushroom, swiss cheese crepe. Sigh* How could you NOT like it?
I've heard some pretty amazing things about their sweeter crepes as well - however, since i don't have a sweet tooth, i get my fix by simply seeing them whip up these seriously desserty concoctions!
I particularly like this location as the staff is quick, friendly, and efficient! That's always a plus especially when it's a grab'n'go lunch! -

Maybe great for takeout, definitely not great for eat in.
I came here two years ago and it took about 1 hr for them to make 2 crepes. I thought the speed must have improved two years later, but no! It took them more than one hour to bring out the two crepes my friend and I ordered. Does it really take that long to make crepes?
The manager was super snobby, and didn't seem apologetic at all for the delay.
If you plan on having breakfast here, you might have your mood ruined for the rest of the day. -

When I first heard of this cafe I thought they would be out of business with-in the first year, I never imagined they would be so successful and in multiple locations.
Cafe Crepe is a neat idea thst is very well executed. Though they have a deliciously wide array of crepes on their menu they actually are more than just a coffee house with a unique menu.
Let me first say the coffee here is amazing. From a strong cup of joe to americanos or any barista drinks they make it all and quite well using Illy coffee.
The crepe dishes are well made brought piping hot and stacked high with toppings when they arrive to the table. My favorite is any of the ones with nutella.
Secondly to this they offer an array of meal items but the one I'll focus on is the chicken burger. A thick fluffy white bun is graced with a very juicy well seasoned chicken breast topped with lettuce, tomato and red onion. I recommend getting the cheese and or bacon to really kick it up a notch. Lastly add some hot sauce and hands down you will agree it's the best chicken burger you've ever had. To add to this masterpiece is some of the nicest french fries I've had recently. Medium cut style, not overly thick or thin very crispy and well seasoned.
Lastly let me say that Cafe Crepe has some of the kitchiest ambience out of most of the cafe's I visit. High deep back black seats like something out of a David Lynch movie comfort the guest while on the surrounding deep deep dark red walls hang larger then life art posters. -

Don't eat inside. Seriously. TheTripChick also posted that but it was after we went. Blargh.
I had a relatively tasty beef/egg/cheese/dijon crepe, friend had a completely overcooked burger and we waited forEVER for our food. Would get a crepe there again, but definitely from the takeout window. -

A cute little restaurant on Robson where you can get your usual breakfast fare and of course, crepes. I ordered the banana and walnut and it was good, but wasn't the best I've had. It was dry, but overflowing with fruit and nuts. Again, I was amazed at the price of food in Vancouver. My crepe was $8.
Service was friendly and prompt. You can also order crepes to go. -
Review from Christine R.
This is where I was first introduced to crepes- and ultimately where I fell in love.... growing up, my parents would take us up here once a month and we would stay at "The Landis" and after shopping would always grab a crepe here. It could be the dead of winter and my parents would still want to walk Robsin's and to keep warm we would buy crepe here.
I discovered Nutella here and of course that's my all time favourite- banana nutella crepe.. I've also had a couple of their savoury crepes- but the banana/nutella is my fav and my go to.
I haven't been back in a couple of years- but just thinking of this place makes me want to run out to the nearest DMV and get both my kids an enhanced id so we can grab some crepes!! -
Review from Amary N.
I was strolling down Robson Street. And I saw a line at Cafe Crepe. I had to spy on this place. Thinking "Hmmm..is this another tourist trap?" I saw some locals. So, I decided to go for it.
I got to say, nice crepes. Not bad for a snack. Couldn't imagine crepes as a meal. But hey! That's just me. I like mine sweet. I got the Nutella & Strawberries. While my friend had the Banana Cream.
Negative, is their poor service. Get ready to wait 15mins or longer for your crepes. It's a pretty tight place. So, I highly recommend take out. Prices $7CAD or more.
Remember it's Robson Street so parking is going to be tough in this area. -

We pretty much came here for dessert after coming from another restaurant. The place was packed but it didn't take us very long to be seated, and I know why. The service is amazingly fast. After being seated we were fed and out of there in like a blink of an eye. We weren't rushed or anything, but we just didn't have to wait very long at all to order or for our crepes to come. (I'm kind of shocked to see so many reviews complaining about the service. Something must have changed recently, because I don't think I've ever been served in a sit-down restaurant this quickly.)
I had an applesauce crepe and it was pretty bland. I don't know what I was expecting, really. It's just applesauce in a crepe. My husband's dark chocolate and strawberry crepe was awesome, though.
The prices are a little high as far as crepes go, but it's a nice occasional treat and I was really impressed with the service so I'm willing to let the prices slide a bit. Oh, and I like the setting. I feel a little cooler for having been there. -
Review from Nick S.
I lived in Santa Monica, CA for three years, and there was a Cafe Crepe about a ten minute walk from my apartment. Only now, after visiting Vancouver four years later did I realize it was a chain!
My girlfriend and I went in for a little nostalgia, and I can say with certainty that this location matches the Santa Monica one exactly. Same decor, and same quality of service - that slow, faux-European apathy that kind of annoys you but you really don't mind. The crepes are of course, awesome, but the panini we shared (prosciutto + mozzarella) wasn't even hot when we got it. Still, it was good.
Cafe Crepe is great for dessert but only so-so for lunch and dinner; the quality can definitely vary and you better not go starving, because no matter when you go or how busy it is, it's going to take a while.
But a lemon sugar crepe with French vanilla ice cream? Totally worth the wait. -
Review from Hoa T.
Maybe I should have gotten a crepe, but I just wasn't impressed with my omelet. It had brie, some kind of meat, and vegetables of some sort? Actually, I don't really remember what was in it besides the brie, but I do remember it being pretty uninspiring. No one else seemed too excited about the food or service either. I should have saved my appetite for Japa Dog. =\

If you're craving crepes, look no further.
This little cafe has several locations, ALL of which are good because they are all incredible consistent in the way the make crepes.
They have an extensive menu of both sweet and savory depending on your current craving at the moment. Of course, if you're like me, you can have BOTH!!! Yum.
My favourites?
Sweet: Nutella, Nutella & Strawberries, Nutella & Banana, Sugar & Butter
Savoury: Cheese & Ham, Cheese, Egg, Ham & Mushroom, Cheese, Egg, Ham, Mushrooms & Spinach (as u can see, i like 'em thick and juicy)
Now, I never realised how good these crepes are until my recent trip to Paris over last summer. These are as authentic as it gets! And PS: don't feel obliged to eat in, have a crepe to go and browse Robson! It tastes way better that way when you're window shopping & stuff your face! -

We were lured to this place because we heard beer was cheap. $12 pitchers of Granville Island is pretty good for downtown! Liquor is cheap too.
I went for a crepe with chicken, mayo, cheese ... the works of the chicken category. It was kinda bland, but it stayed together for the purposes of cutting and eating. It got boring after a few bites. The fries were OK, but salty.
It's comfortable, there are booths for groups or a couple. I wouldn't call it a date place and there's no physical bar. It's got a more restaurant than bar vibe. But if you're looking for a cheap place to get some beer and a snack downtown, this is a good option.
Be warned: there are a suspicious amount of fruit flies that may annoy you while you eat. -

like many reviewers... this is where i first popped my Crepe-Virginity.
(oh yeah, and other virginities, too! i'll explain later...)
i've lived in Paris before. my mother used to call them, "craps" or "crap cake"- so i was a very confused little child. then we settled in the states and my memories of crepes were simply forgotten and hidden away somewhere in my brain.
it was in 1998 when my cousins from Seoul were visiting the northwest; Seattle and Vancouver were their next destinations. shopping in the district can get a little numbing and tiring. my dad would take a few smoke breaks and kind of walk along the beaten path. in one instance, he returned with a floppy, thin and triangle shaped pancake.
my mother exclaimed, "CRAP!"
i thought my dad had burned her with a cigarette or something! i was asking her if she was okay, but she looked at me clueless.
"CRAP CAKE! remember in Pah-Ree (Paris)?" - mother
my dad laughed so hard, he nearly dropped the crepe.
"it's pronounced, CLAY-APE"- dad. mind you, my parents are *FOB's.
the famously adored Nutella and Strawberry crepe... oh-so marvelous and intriguing to the taste buds. i was immediately brought back to when i was a child... living in France and watching my parents eat plain crepes with a simple sprinkle of powdered sugar on top. now... at that time, i had never tasted Nutella. i'm not much of a chocolate fan, but Nutella?!?! oh, it's magical.
right then and there... in front of my parents, i lost my virginity to CREPES and NUTELLA. i creamed my pants. i know... EMBARRASSING!!!
*FOB= fresh off the boat. =)Listed in: Van-Titty-Comittee

I had a sliced beef crepe and my wife had an apple sauce/banana/cinamon crepe. Each crepe was around $8 and I thought quite overpriced after we received them. Very little beef was in mine, and the crepes just weren't very tasty. I've had much better crepes at other restaurants.

Review from G T.
Okay, first let me say that I went in with the intention of ordering a crepe but to get a savory vegetarian crepe with spinach, tomato, and cheese was going to cost me $10. That's a joke, I don't care where you are located.
I ended up ordering a Pannini with cheese, tomato, basil, and olives. It's a good thing the bagette was amazing because my $7, 9", sandwich had exactly 3 pieces of cheese that was not melted, four tomatoes thinly sliced, 3 olives, and 2 withered basil leaves. Seriously?!? AND you have to pay $2.60 for fries! This place is a rip off.
The only reason I would go back is to try the sweet crepes since it is virtually impossible to do those badly. -
Review from Kathleen H.
a few comments:
- the wait here at this popular Robson st. location can be hideous.
- service...pretty much non-existent as the understaffed wait staff struggle to cover all the tables
- ambiance...also non-existent...instead of a relaxing and inviting environment, the cafe is loud and completely over-crowded.
- dessert crepes - lots of selection and I really enjoyed the dark chocolate w/ bananas and I don't even like bananas. The bitter sweet dark chocolate is a great contrast to the fruit and tastes absolutely delicious.
- savory crepe - we had the ham and cheese and it was pretty good...
- pizza - surprising tasty and cheesy on thin crust...
- price - very steep on the crepes...would I come back again and pay $9 for a crepe and kinda crazy atmosphere w/ waiters spilling water, and long waits...I think NOT.
