After reading all the reviews and hearing so many good things about Cafe Buenos Aires, my girlfriend and myself as well as another couple visited this restaurant on a Friday night. We ordered quite a few small plates and to be honest, I was expecting a lot more.

The food wasn't bad but it was nowhere near as good as we were hoping. Out of the 8 or so small plates we ordered, I thought the best were the ARGENTINE CHORIZO which was very tasty, PULPOS A LA GALLEGA the octopus was delicious and cooked very well, and the GNOCCHI although the amount of truffle oil used was a little overpowering. I do agree with many of the other reviews, the sangria was very good and tasty and worth a try.

Overall it was a fun night but was hoping the food would be a lot better. I'd prefer Salumi in Massapequa for tapas over C.B.A.

Went for the tapas but got distracted by the rest of the menu.

Service was great. Food was amazing. We had the empanadas appetizer and a pitcher of white wine sangria to start. Both were outstanding.

Salmon entree was cooked perfectly and the gnocchi with braised beef was awesome.

Chocolate empanadas for dessert was the perfect finish. Best meal we've had in quite some time. I'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

I'm a huge fan of tapas. This place doesn't disappoint. They have arguably one of my favorite dishes I have ever tasted. Its the hot tapas dish of -GNOCCHI
With breaded bay scallops in garlic sauce with truffle oil scents . The bartender said this would make you do circles and dance after trying and I have to agree. This is a nice  little bar scene for drinks, wine and tapas. Friday they have a Flamenco dancing show which is a great touch. The food here is on point. You can have steaks, burgers, pasta etc all with an Argentinean touch. The service is equally solid and the wine selection is very nice. The feel of this place inside provides great atmosphere.

I love tapas and good tapas seems to be very hard to find on Long Island. I ate here last night and the food was fresh, delicious and creative.

The highlight of my meal was the signature martini which was made from peach vodka, peach schnapps and peach nectar. Do I like peach? Yes! Was this a girly drink? Probably but damn it was good!! (had 3 of em)

From the cold tapas menu we ordered the seafood ceviche which had shrimp, calamari, scallops, jalapeno and lime ... i will say it was a bit too limey but the fish was so fresh i enjoyed it thoroughly.  We also ordered the figs stuffed with blue cheese wrapped in prosciutto and it was sold out (by 7:30? really?). Next up was the Queso de Cabra with goat cheese, red and yellow beets with olive oil, nicely done fresh salad to share...simple and done well.

Next up was the hot tapas menu....we ordered chicken and beef empinadas and they were delicious. The only mistake I made was not ordering more of them. the dough they were made in reminded me of a pretzel and they were not fried or oily. The filling was moist and bursting with flavors. I'm not an empinada expert but these are some of the best empinadas I've ever had/ We also had the fondue with the meet skewers but to be honest this was a little boring, just kinda one note or maybe I'm just not a fondue guy.

I never felt rushed, the service was decent until we ordered desert. We were all ready to get some Flan but they blew it and never brought it so I ended up canceling it. They offered me a free coffee but I declined. I will have to go back one night just for desert I think, they had a number to choose from including churros.

Great crowd, fantastic sangria, great ambiance and a wide range in choices of some great tapas

    Round 1
Pitcher of red sangria, chorizo, ceviche, garlic shrimp, tuna cappachio.
Tuna wasn't great but, good Ceviche was unbelievable and
Chorizo made us order seconds, and the Garlic shrimp only fueled our appetites further as well as out curiosity.

    Round 2
    Another pitcher of red sangria
Another ceviche, steak with a queso dip, skewered beef, fried calamari, and empanadas.
Everything was stellar but I did have better emapanadas dough was like pizza dough.

Dessert I highly recommend the crepe with caramel and banana

    Will visit again no question

Cafe Buenos Aires has one of the best Sunday brunch menus Long Island has to offer (asides from the larger steakhouses). During the spring (it's open throughout the year) $19 will buy you an outside table, a large breakfast, and a San Gria or Mimosa.

The brunch menu is extensive, offering skirt steak, omelets, eggs benedict, fruit, and all sorts of breakfast amenities. The skirt steak comes with potatoes and is topped off with two fried eggs and chorizo. The mimosas are great as are the large san grias.

I went to Cafe Buenos Aires for my birthday so I ordered a bunch of the different small plates, the steak, and the paella. I must have ordered ten different dishes, most of the dishes were seafood... and hot plates. While everything tasted good, nothing really stepped up and wowed me... the seafood was fresh but the dishes were just a little too salty.

The calamari, clams and mussels, sweet bread, cheeses, and meats were all very good... I don't think you will be unhappy with any of the small plates you order.

The steak and paella were good, but again, they were both a little over salted and also overpriced.

The restaurant is a little dark in the inside an the decorations are clearly inspired by Argentinian style.

As far as tapas restaurants go, I haven't been to too many on Long Island, but this restaurant certainly will provide an entertaining and delicious meal... your just not going to find that it offers many WOW dishes.

I rated a tapas restaurant in San Diego called Costa Brava, which is a league above Cafe Buenos Aires, but because the brunch option at Cafe Buenos Aires is so amazing, I gave this restaurant an extra star.

I was in town with some fabulous college friends of mine last weekend.

After getting some AWESOME spa treatments at Hand & Stone Spa, we were all FAMISHED and set out to grab a quick bite before our meal at [unnamed restaurant]. I dont know if its just a Huntington thing or I've had the fortunate of missing out on this phenom in my 30 years of breathing but...most of the restaurants were closing for lunch and reopening for dinner but all at different times. Most of them didn't have a sign indicating as such either. So we ended up going to several restaurants and being told they were closed until dinner. After walking about enjoying the sunshine we decided to try to get a table early at the [unnamed restaurant] my friend had reservations for. Um...yeah...the staff was QUITE RUDE and snotty when they told us they were closed.

Then we happen to run across Cafe Buenos Aires...

The staff was kind, friendly, and even though they were closed and in the process of reopening for dinner they offered us seats at the bar and suggested we all have lovely cocktails until they were ready to seat us. The bartenders were really patient and friendly even though a few members of our party were being really indecisive on what they wanted to drink....

After chatting and drinking our assorted drinks, we were escorted to our lovely table and given a menu. Two members of the party opted for the LI restaurant week special and the others opted for tapas....and of course a pitcher of sangria for the table

Everything was excellent! The food, the drinks, the atmosphere and the service. Next time i find myself up this way i will definitely have to come back!

Dined here for the first time over the weekend; it was a Friday night, and my only other experience with Cafe Buenos Aires was as an outsider.  After dining at the French restaurant Cassis, just a block away, we walked by to see a lively crowd and hear music flowing out of its interior.  Naturally, I assumed it would always be like this and predicted a reservation would be a necessity.  This was not the case.

Called before leaving Long Beach to learn that reservations are only made for parties of 6 or more, and the hostess did not believe that the wait would be an issue on this particular evening.  She was correct, even at 7:30, but that should not lead you to believe that the place was quiet; quite to the contrary.

A formidable crowd awaited at Cafe Buenos Aires; seating was available outside, but it was too cold for most, including our party.  The menu is authentic; lots of red meat, tapas, fish and chicken, accompanied by vegetarian sides, that can be substituted.

We ordered an appetizer off the specials menu; a hollowed out eggplant, filled with chorizo, eggplant and topped with melted cheese.  It was first rate.  The food, overall was above average and made a strong argument for a return to Cafe Buenos Aires.  The wine list was small, but commendable.  Any place where I have multiple malbecs to choose from is OK in my book.

Desserts were tempting, but ultimately we passed.  Definitely put Cafe Buenos Aires at the top of your places to dine this summer; it will not disappoint.  The experience is authentic and will have you signing up for salsa lessons by the time the bill comes.

Arrived about 6:30p on a COLD Friday night for dinner with a gal pal.  My first time in the village of Huntington.  Very cute area. Lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants.  As a result parking is a little tough even though they have municipal lots and street parking (although snow blocked most of the street parking).

There was no wait, although it was a little early for the dinner rush.  The place was packed when we left at 8:30p.

They feature a hot and cold tapas bar menu.  The empanadas (beef and chicken) were good and so was the grilled sausage trio (beef, pork, and chicken).  Red Sangria was good.  Good portion entrees. Friendly staff, and live tango dancing started around 8pm.

All in all I did not have any complaints and I would return which is why I gave it 4 stars.  Not excellent enough for the 5th star but 3 seemed too little.  I would recommend as a good date spot as they have a good list of Argentinian wines and candle-lit atmosphere.  Pricey if you get apps and wine and dessert...of course....but I thought most the entrees were fairly priced around $20-$25 each considering they were mostly steaks and seafood in large portions.

    Its all about the recovery...

Today we went to Buenos Aires and enjoy a nice meal with my parents. Read my other reviews so you know how I feel about the restaurant...

However, they screwed up my mom's dinner.  She ordered a main course and was brought a salad.  When it was pointed that my mom got the wrong meal, the server put in a rush order for my mom and brought the dish out right away.

He took the bottle of wine off the bill as an apology and still only charged us for the salad instead of the dinner plate.  What a nice recovery!!!

Just one thing... the back section that leads to the kitchen ad bathroom gets so busy with the servers running in and out of the kitchen and chatting at the server's station that it gets quite crowded and noisy.  In fact, a table asked to be moved to another section after 10 minutes of loud server's chatter and running in and out of the kitchen.  Do not recommend seating back here at all!!!

Had a lovely little date night here on Saturday and everything was just terrific.

We had tapas - potatoes, chorizo, empanadas and shrimp - with a salad and dessert, and left satisfied and not the least bit stuffed. Service was excellent and friendly. Wines by the glass were superb and even my martini was as good as I make at home!

    A definite keeper.

Wanted to try a mixed grill, and came at about 2pm on a Sunday to find that there was a prix fixe brunch menu in effect.

Luckily, the same items I wanted on the grill were available at the prix fixe price of $19.95 or so, AND included my first drink (a bellini).  The place was pretty full at 2pm, and that was a good sign!

My husband's sangria was so good, when it was time for the next round, I ordered that instead of the bellini.  We ordered so many, the waiter gave us one "on the house," advising us to order a pitcher next time so we could save a little money!  He was right.  We just didn't know it was going to be so good :)

The mixed grill, especially at a prix fixe price, was phenomenal.  I loved the morcilla, or blood sausage.  I know most people think that's gross, but I had had it in Puerto Rico and haven't had one this good until, well, until I came to Cafe Buenos Aires.  And now I know where I'll be having it from now on.  The meats were all delicious and expertly cooked.

The live entertainment was a total surprise and big plus.  This restaurant has great ambience - I really enjoyed the live dancing.

I really felt like I was on vacation.  We were treated to relaxed service, and enjoyed our meal at a leisurely pace.  It was great, and I thought at the end of it all, it was a bargain.

If you want it to, it can be a real experience - you could stay here all day, enjoying delicious cocktails, and eating tapas.  I fully intend to, when I have the time :)

I should also mention that I have a gluten/wheat allergy, and the staff were very attentive to my needs, without making me feel like I was a pain.  Our waiter knew exactly what ingredients were in each menu item - now tell me another place that can do that!  It's not very common, but I give big kudos when I see that.

If for nothing else, come for the Sangria and the tango dancing!

The food is very good as well. The empanadas were done very well. Two people in my party had the Milanesa Completa and raved about it. I had the paella, on which I had heard mixed reviews, but being a paella lover I wanted to try for myself. It was GREAT! I got the half portion which was totally enough food and ridiculously well priced at I think $12 (this was dinner!). Plenty of seafood and the rice was not soupy which is a paella pet peeve of mine. Very tasty.

For dessert, we sampled a few things, but the churros really stood out as the best - great crunchy, fluffy texture - sweet but not too sweet.

Wow- almost impossible to believe this place has gotten even better. How?  Constantly changing the Tapas menus, getting some excellent bar help (finally!) and just serving up some of the best food in a town known for really good restaurants.

Now that summer is here there is some limited sidewalk seating available for alfresco dining or people watching.

We have dined here at least 10 times... it is a staple! Located in Huntington Village in the center of the shops and nightlife, Cafe Buenos Aires is known for typical Argentinean style BBQ and Spanish tapas.  The place is always lively, with live tango dancing right in the dining room.

Start out with a bottle of Malbec and then get ready to eat... the food is awesome!  Begin with classic argentinean tapas... beef Empanadas, Matambre (sliced stuffed veal) and definitely some Chorizo.

For dinner, you must have the Entrana (grilled skirt steak) with heaps of chimichurri (blend of spices and garlic) or the Milanesa with an egg on top (breaded and fried beef)!  Taking it to the next level? Go for the Parrillada Mixta for two- an over the top selection of steak, chicken, sausages and sweetbreads.  Break out your stomach pump folks... it's time for dessert.

Dulce de leche is the star of the show... definitely have the panqueques (crepes)!  Other personal favorites include the Balcarce (meringue and peaches) and the Don Pedro (whiskey, vanilla ice cream, walnuts) ... simple but worth the calories. Finish it off with a double espresso and your ready to get rolled out to your car!

The Scene- Romantic and lively. Great for a first date or dinner with family.
Food and Drinks- 4: Stellar!  Wouldn't change a thing.  Never been disappointed.
Tip Worthy- 4: Double the tax and then some. Servers will guide you through the menu- both food and wine.
Coordinates-  4: Neighborhood- Centrally located, lots to do. Bars, clubs and shopping are steps away.
Restaurant Return Rate- Green light.  I'll be back with my friends

I came here on a Tuesday night (it had been snowing all day and the driving conditions were terrible) yet the restaurant was half full which is a good sign.

We ordered 2 tapas a grilled octopus with garlic sauce which was very tender and full of flavor and a Argentinian sausage dish which was okay nothing special.

For my entree I got the seafood soup which was the perfect size and great flavor. The broth was yummy and the seafood was large and well cooked.  If you do not like spicy stay away!

My husband had the ravioli and it was very flavorful and rich.

I will def. be coming back, the service was good, the food was flavorful and the atmosphere is cozy yet elegant.

I visited Buenos Aires last summer and couldn't get enough of the food.  I was hungry to find some good Argentine food up north.  My boyfriend and I had popped into this restaurant a few months ago but at that time were in the mood for something more casual.

New Year's Eve was a different story.  As we walked in the restaurant was very lively.  There was a couple doing the Tango in the back room!  My boyfriend and I sat at a bar table where our attentive waiter brought us our menus, water and bread (which came with three yummy dips).  We ordered a glass of wine and an Argentine beer: Quilmes.

We decided to start out small with one tapas: the chorizo.  It was delicious!  So delicious in fact that it sparked the ordering of another tapas-- fried calamari.  Calamari so good that my boyfriend remarked it was the best he'd ever had.

Now onto the main course!  We had the Filet de Lenguado con Camarones (Filet of Sole served with mashed potatoes and asparagus) and the Gaucho Steak (served with bleu cheese and mashed potatoes)  The sole was so delicious that I kept saying it tasted like butter.  I highly recommend both dishes.

Sadly there was no room for dessert, but we will be back to give some a try!  In order to save room I recommend getting 2-3 tapas and one main dish.

    Enjoy!

I can't believe I've been around for 22 years and haven't tried Argentinian food. This was so good, I wish I've been eating this stuff my whole life.

Let's start with the atmosphere: You don't feel like you're in the US. There is a lot of earth-toned decor, with paintings of ranches, animals, and mountains. The music playing is entirely in Spanish. The hostess and wait staff were predominantly of Argentinian descent, and knew a lot about the country and the foods. The bar was beautiful and large, and there were tables that were somewhat elevated looking over the bar. That's where I sat.

This was the first time I've ever ordered anything from a TAPAS menu. Thery had an extensive list of small appetizers to choose from, but my company and I decided on three items to split: BROCHETTE DE CARNE (Assorted meat served on skewers), CALAMARES FRITOS AL AJILLO (Fried calamari in a spicy garlic sauce), and EMPANADAS (Turnover pie (beef, chicken, spinach and corn)).

The meat skewers were not my favorite of the three. The meat was perfectly cooked, but I felt that the spices on them were kind of dull - that maybe I could have ordered that anywhere. They weren't any different from your ordinary shish kebab. However, my friend liked them the most. Go figure.

The empanadas (we ordered beef) were FANTASTIC. The shell was like a perfect, flaky pie crust. They were exploding with meat, onions, and bits of egg when you broke it apart. It tasted like a tiny little meatloaf inside of a pie. What can you hate about that?! Nothing, that's what.

The last tapas was the calamari in spicy garlic sauce. The calamari was cooked perfectly, was very fresh, and was fried to a crispy perfection. The spicy garlic sauce was tomato-based and was full of flavor - but it wasn't spicy. It was still delicious, but I was hoping for some heat. The  Arrabiata sauce you find in Italian restaurants  is much hotter.

For the main course, I ordered a dish known as ÑOQUI, which were gnocchis served with shredded beef short ribs, goat cheese, spinach, and mushrooms in a garlic butter sauce. The sauce was super-rich and very creamy, and the garlic didn't overpower any other component of the dish. The beef was so tender that it broke apart on my fork. The gnocchis were very dense and creamy as well, and you could tell they were home made. They paired very nicely with everything else on the plate. The tang of the goat cheese gave the dish a really nice kick - the sauce had some sweet components to it that really contrasted against the strong taste of the cheese. It was super delicious, but so rich that I wasn't able to finish the entire plate, or order any dessert.

    Oh well. Maybe next time!

I solidly thought for a moment about giving this an "Eek! Me thinks not!"

Being new to the Huntington area, I've been dining out a lot, trying to get a feel of places that I'd like to become a frequent patron of.  These choices are largely in choice made with the help of wonderful yelp reviews!! After seeing the reviews of Cafe Buenos Aires, I figured that I would give it a shot!

Let's start from the beginning, we get there, and I had wanted to ultimately sit outside but once I saw how on top of each other the tables were, decided against it and sat inside.  (I think that sitting outside for lunch would be okay, because not as many people seem to be here)  The place was PACKED at 6pm on a Saturday.  This to me, is always a good sign because large crowds usually equate to yummy meals!

I wanted to start my meal off with a drink, perhaps a glass of wine, yes a glass of Pinot Grigio, can't ever go wrong with Pinot ... the waitress "thought" they might not have any left but would go check.  I thought this must be a mistake because seriously, how do you run out of Pinot Grigio, I'd say it's a pretty popular wine and if at 6pm on a Saturday you see you're running out GO GET MORE.  So I settled, I ordered a raspberry margarita. The margarita was OKAY, I personally didn't like it, but a drink doesn't make a restaurant so I'll over look it.  Although I really hate when they put fruit in my drink that doesn't go with the drink ie; a piece of lemon and a cherry ... remind me again how this goes with a raspberry marg??

    On to the FOOD!
We start out with the Ensalada Portena - a salad of watercress with radishes, pears, walnuts, and manchego cheese with a citrus vinaigrette.  SOUNDED DELICIOUS! Listing the ingredients still, I think "man that sounds like a good salad" WRONG!! I don't know where the hell this salad went wrong.  The vinaigrette was disgusting, it was so sour! The salad was good when you got a bit of each ingredient with a piece of pear - then it actually tasted decent; however, this was a major problem since each salad had four small slivers of pear.  I am a salad lover, this was probably ranking among the worst salads I have ever had.  It had the makings of a perfect salad, it was just missing something sweet and that dressing need not ever be used again.

This is when I start getting leery ... but alas, I stay positive and think, my Cavatelli pasta with shrimp, bread crumbs, and veggies in a garlic confit will be great!  It comes out ... with HUGE wedges of carrots, whole zucchinis, and three different color broccoli ... interesting.  Remain calm, it might be good!  Wrong.  The cavatelli were overcooked, the veggies although good in their own way, did not mesh with the dish.  The garlic confit was very watery.  The shrimp though, were delicious - I will give the dish that.  If it was only shrimp I would have loved it.  There is something about the assortment of vegetables paired up with that, that doesn't do it for me.  I had even asked the waitress beforehand what vegetables were in there and she said she wasn't sure - this should have been a warning - does it change everynight? who knows.

My dining partner ordered Roasted Porkchops encrusted with mixed nuts, served with caramelized bananas, fruit chutney, mashed potatos and roasted asparagus.  The pork chop was cooked perfectly, was very juicy, and was delicious.  The caramelized bananas were also delicious. The mashed potatos .... were interesting.  We got into a big debate with eachother over if these potatos were instant ... I thought they were just pureed into a very, very, VERY, fine mash, but even giving the benefit of the doubt that they were not instant they were NOT much better than instant.

We decided to skip out on dessert because neither of us were feeling too great about this selection.  Paying ninety some odd dollars for a meal, I'd like to come out saying "MAN THAT WAS GREAT" not "WHAT THE HELL" .

With this being said, the decor is nice, the waitstaff was okay, and the sangria (which I did not order) looked AMAZING!  There seem to be a lot of good reviews on here, so maybe my visit was a fluke ... or maybe everyone else has consumed the full pitcher of sangria before eating ... either way, I won't be coming here again.

we've been twice, once for mains and once for tapa.  In both cases we were disappointed.   The food and service are just OK.  It's quite loud.
There are much better choices locally.

I had brunch here recently and did not have a good experience.  I had the Mini Grill which included skirt steak, chorizo, lamb and blood sausage.  Everything was pretty bland... not much flavor at all.  I didn't even bother with the Blood Sausage cuz that thing looked disgusting.  The other people in my group that ordered the same dish felt the same.  The presentation of the food didn't make it look too appetizing either.  I asked for medium, but the stuff was more like a medium rare with my food soaking in blood juice.... yum yum... not.  I usually have soup if I'm looking for food in liquid content.

I had a 2 bellinis.  The first one was good.  The 2nd one tasted nasty.  There was no mix of peach juice in there, when I tasted it.  I asked the waiter to fix it.... saw him bring it to the bar, and the dude behind there, that was also the rest. host, made some nasty insulting remark about it, to his friends sitting at the bar, to make himself look cool.  Little did he know I was staring right at him when he did all that.

So yeah.... I definitely would not recommend this place nor go there again.  Not only does the food stink, but so does the service.

Gnocci and Short ribs in a garlic butter sauce = fantastic. Was skeptical about the combination, but not disappointed. Will return!

Cafe Buenos Aires has been on my restaurant wish-list for quite some time. I rolled in here and brought a vegetarian with me, feeling bad because I knew she would not have the greatest selection of items to choose from in a place that really specializes in meat and fish.

Buenos Aires makes a pretty good first impression, the bar area, outdoor seating, dining section are all quite nice. The quality of materials is high, nice tablecloths and utensils, wall hangings and decor.

The service had its ups and downs, I'll go into more detail later.

We both enjoyed the bread service with three bread toppings, particularly the tomato-bruschetta. What we enjoyed even more was the sangria, which was part of an upside to the service, I asked the waitress how good the sangria was, because I am particularly picky about sangria. Not only did she comply with my request to try a sample of the white sangria, she brought over a red as well and she brought a huge freaking glass. We tried the white and very much enjoyed it. Not the best I've ever had but perhaps in the top 5.

Neither of us were very hungry so I ordered the Tuna Burger and she ordered the cheese fondue with vegetables off the tapas menu. The tuna burger was just kinda blah. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it was just kinda there, no flavor, no kick. The best tuna burger is available 3,000 miles away at Rutherford Grill in Napa, CA, and it really makes the one I had last Friday look bad. The fries served with it were good, but I also like Burger King's fries and I don't imagine there's much of a difference. The vegetable cheese fondue was good, nothing to write home about.

Up until our entrées arrived, the service had been pretty good. But once we were done with our meals and had places to go, people to see, the waitress was nowhere to be found. I think perhaps 27 minutes passed while we were looking for an opportunity to get the check. This turned what was perhaps a 3-star meal (based on the sangria and, at the time, decent service) down to a 2-star performance for me. I was literally about to call the restaurant from my cell phone to ask for our waitress when she finally arrived and asked if we wanted dessert.

Now Doug E Fresh is trying to not be one of those "OMG he died of a heart attack in his thirties and he looked healthy" people - so he did not select a beef entrée here, which might be what I should really do. So, that said, there's a chance if I'm in the neighborhood again, I will try Cafe Buenos Aires just once more to try something a bit more traditional. If that happens, you can rest assured that this review will be updated.

Love this place for tapas! Four of us came here for dinner and shared a bunch of tapas plates. I think my favorites were the steak and the empanadas. Such a delight!

Service was pretty attentive, although getting the server to come by to take the check took a little bit of time. It's all good though, since the company and conversation were enjoyable!

I've read other reviews and just don't get it. we dined here last night after hearing great things about it. first of all the place was so loud that if was very hard to have a conversation. The waitresses are young and inexperienced and one had an attitude and actually just walked away when we were deciding whether we were ready to order yet. Ok, the food....empanadas were good, paella was great. Skirt steak was fatty and the gnocchi was just ok ( but really looked awful). I had flap(?) steak with very bland tasteless mashed potatoes. It would have been nice to have a vegetable with it. Portions were small. Desserts were just ok. I had the churros with a tiny, tiny scoop of ice cream. Churros at besito are way better. These were tiny...about 2-3 inches long.
Judging by how crowded it was, others must like it.

We have come here quite often over the past five years - it was a love at first sight experience and we have stayed committed ever since.  This restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience from the moment you are greeted by the extremely classy Argentine manager to the moment you walk out and say goodbye.

I will cut to the chase about the food - this place KNOWS how to cook meat and pasta!  They make fantastic fish specials that are usually served over a bed of risotto that is so good you never want it to end.  Their best hot tapa is the cheese fondue served with various meats - the chorizo is the best dipping meat and the cheese fondue is so good you'll end up spooning it out of the cup when you've finished all the dipping pieces.  The menu staples have changed slightly over the years - but one thing is for certain, the Noqui (gnocci) with braised short rib, spinach, and mushrooms topped with garlic sauce and dollups of goat cheese will NEVER disappoint.  Neither will their steaks, mashed potatoes or red wine sangria.  Their desserts are no joke - be prepared to have an "I'll have what she's having moment" if you happen to be near me as I'm eating either their dulce de leche filled crepe or churros with dulce de leche ice cream.  Out of control.

This place is super busy on Friday nights when they have live tango dancers perform.  If you've never been to Argentina, this will be next best thing.  I can't say enough great things about this place.  If they sold t-shirts, I'd buy one.

Nice atmosphere, good drinks, great food. This place is closer to 4 1/2 stars than 4.

Reservations for groups of 6 or more only.

Outdoor seating available, but it's kind of a narrow, busy sidewalk and it's pretty close to a busy road. Even though I was there on a nice night, I still chose to sit inside instead.

I had heard good things about their sangria, so my girlfriend and I tried it. They have both red and white -- I tried the red, and it was delicious, but I noticed a lot of other people drinking the white, too, so I'm sure that's good as well.

The food, not surprisingly, was great. Try the steak with bleu cheese -- fantastic.

The service was a touch on the slow side, but they were very busy, so I can't really blame them. And our waitress was friendly and knew her stuff, so I can't say anything negative there.

I went to the movies down the street and was starving afterwards so I walked to this restaurant and I was so pleased. I sat at the bar which seemed to be the more popular scene, and I was recommended the sangria by a lady sitting next to me. The bartender had a special of Blood Orange Sangria so I tried it, WOW! Very good. Not bitter at all and very strong. I was feeling it after the first cup. The tapas are great. Small but delightful. Will definitely come here again for happy hour.

Went here for dinner tonight based on Yelp reviews. The food was fantastic! I got the monkfish wrapped in prosciutto and it was terrific. My parents got the sole and the filet and both were excellent. For dessert we had the pear tart and it was perfect as well. Overall I would give the food 5 stars for sure. Unlike other reviews we found the service also very good. Our only complaint would be that the big crowds made it noisy enough, then they turned on music really loud on top of that! So the experience was very noisy. Granted though it was a Friday night on a holiday weekend. I'm sure it's not always like that.
Overall -- I highly recommend it for excellent Argentinian food!

    Service - 1 star. Food - 4 stars.

We'll probably have a better experience going on a slower night instead of a Saturday.

We were seated outdoors and the service was painfully slow. Until I searched for the waiter I think he forget about our table and order. (And he got the order wrong when the food finally came.) I also thought there was a tapas menu but we were never given one.

We started with the ensalada portena and the ensalata buenos aires appetizers. Both were delicious and good sized portions. For entrees we had noqui (gnocchi) with crispy bay scallops and mushrooms in a truffle cream sauce and the fettucini with goat cheese and short ribs.

Cafe Buenos Aires offers the option to have the pasta as appetizer size. What a great idea. The portion was just enough. The gnocchi was loaded with the crispy bay scallops. And the fettucini was overflowing with short ribs.

We didn't leave anything on our plates. For a $42 bill we definitely got our money's worth.

We'll definitely be going again but perhaps we'll do better indoors and on a weeknight.

Picture a nice evening sitting at a sidewalk outdoor table in Huntington sharing a few great Tapas plates and some red wine.  Excellent selection of unique items.  Indoor was good too but I like the outdoor experience best.  Waiting for the warm weather to go back.
