Quebec City ...quaint, quiet, beautiful architecture, stone cobbled streets. A great place to visit. One of the highlights of my trip there was a nice French cafe called Le Cafe Buade.

We walked in and were greeted in French - I sighed thinking they spoke French only, and my blank gaze brought about a quick "We speak English" from the waiter. I bet they're tired of us expecting everyone to speak the native language, but I was thankful. We were promptly seated. I ordered a Sleeman - first time I've had that beer - nice bite to it.

Ordered off the lunch menu - soup/salad and an entree for what amounted to a very reasonable lunch. Dessert was included but we were in a rush for time, so we didn't get around to that. Had a delicious cream potato soup - strong hint of potato but completely smooth - one of the best soups I've had in a long time. They also brought out several bowls of French bread - sliced baguettes. Nice crispy exterior, buttery soft and warm interior - a very well made bread.

Lunch consisted of steak and frites with a salad - my only reservation about this meal was the steak - ordered it medium, came out more of a medium-well, but regardless, it was quite dry. It came with an excellent mustard dipping sauce - tangy but offered just the right bite to offset some of the dryness. Steak was seasoned well though.

Fries were also well cooked - nice thin steak cut fries. I'm not a huge salad fan but it was quite good as well.

Overall - excellent meal. If I ever head back to Quebec City, I'm going here.

One of my most suprising and satisfying meals in this city of hype and tourist traps. On my second day at QC I walk around so that I could find a place so that it catered to everyones choice and when I check the Menu here it looked like it would fit the bill.

The appatizers that I ordered were Onion rings & Nacho Chips. The Onion rings were crisp with no oil dripping andf done to perfection. The nacho chips were baked with cheese and spicy with the right amount of bite and a decent size for 4 people to share.

the Cream of asparagus soup tased very nice with a decent taste of asparagus. The entrees were a whole grilled chicken ( which was a hit with my MIL). I had the spagethi that was done very well and tasted very nice opposed to my other italian experiences in QC. My mothers sandwich wasn't good, they threw a bunch of vegetables and cheese throws on top and thrown in the over ( It did not look appatizing but she said that it tasted alright).

Over all a very positive experience, the service was efficient and quick, they were very attentive and food tased good approx 20+$ per person.
