This is another one that moved its location. The space is much bigger than before and you can definitely sense it. It seems like a bit of a walk from one end to the other!

    GOODS
If you like the Camper collection then this is your place. They have a back wall dedicated to it. Otherwise, I felt the shoes to be very plain, boring and basic or too whacky. Not a lot of selection of bags. In the Camper, er, camp I saw a pair of cute Mary Janes and mid calf tan boots. Hmm.

    OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK
Not really camping out here anytime soon. Okay, I'll stop.

There was a pair of Frye oxfords I had stumbled across online and had been coveting. To my dismay, I hadn't been able to physically locate them in any stores. Having decided that it was probably better that way, I had put them firmly out of my mind...until I walked into C Squared, that is.

I had merely intended to browse their eclectic selection of shoes when my eyes fell on the shoes of my dreams. Delighted at my find, and having some holiday dough in my pocket, I waffled between splurging on the shoes or pinching my pennies. Knowing full well that I would feel the dreaded "shoppers regret" if I left without them, I at least tried to finagle a deal (given that Boxing Day was right around the corner).

The female employee that was assisting me was very upbeat and helpful. After speaking to her manager, she offered me a small discount on the shoes...not enough to make a huge difference in the dent made in my bank account, but enough to sway me in the right (wrong?) direction. Prices seemed slightly high but generally in line with similar stores in the area and beyond (Gravity Pope), and I admit that the NO REFUND policy sucks, but there was a sign clearly marking this policy by the cash register so that you could still jump ship if you wanted to. I didn't, so now I'm slightly poorer but one great pair of shoes richer. You win some, you lose some.

If you are a fan of Camper or you just love quirky shoes this is the place for you. C Squared carries a wide variety of hard to find brands such as Tsubo and Poetic License.

The clothing in the back is cute too, and in many cases, cheaper than the shoes. Sadly the service is non-existent and the sale section in the back is always garbage.

I know Campers are so 2000, but there's something about those identifiable shoes that make me want to stare at, slobber on, caress, and maybe even swoon them into my bed.

C Squared has the largest display of Campers I've seen in any Toronto store, flats, boots, and all. The fact they specialize in this would make them my go-to resource if I ever could pile up the cash to buy another pair ever again.

It also has a hip array of runners and other creative footwear. It reminds me somewhat of the west coast's Gravity Pope; though it doesn't come nearly as close, it's a nice substitute. Prices are a bit high, but if you want something on the more original side of the scale without going used, it may be a necessary expenditure.

I was generally happy with my purchase of a pair of Tsubo heels here last weekend, until today. When I looked up the shoes on the Tsubo website to show a friend, they were *$40 cheaper* (non-sale price, from the manufacturer website, with free UPS ground shipping) than at C Squared. I don't mind paying a little more mark-up to be able to try things on and get them immediately, but 36% more seems completely ridiculous.
