Since when do you need to make an appointment to open up a savings account? This is annoying. It's not like I have the crown jewels. There seems to be few staff here. The line ups for a teller are long.
I appreciate the security at the door. This branch gets robbed a lot due to it's location. They use to have a problem with homeless people camping in their ATM kiosk after hours. They fixed that problem by closing it up after 11:00pm. You then have to use the CIBC ATM at the Mac's convenience store across 99 street. Members of CIBC are assigned a financial professional. They are always moving somewhere else as we get updated notices of staffing changes. I like their online banking set up. It is easy to navigate. I know they charge a lot if interest and short you on currency exchanges, but having a CIBC bank card and VISA are best tools to travel with outside the country. My other bank cards would hardly ever work and I would have to rely on hubby's plastic. I guess you pay extra for reliability.
