Messy, dusty place. Imagine a basement with many many opened boxes, all filled with old toys and old stuff, and they're piled on top of each other. You just don't even bother cleaning anymore! By PILES, I mean... piles that reach the ceiling (at the back of the store, and yes, we made it all the way to the back!).

MESSY DUSTY PLACE!!! you do need gloves! The isle (singular) fits one person looking sideways. There was another customer who came in after I did and... we were trying to "switch places" (he wanted to go to the back of the store while I wanted to walk to the front), and we had to BOTH EXIT, so that he can go back in and walk to the back. While I went back in.. and continued browsing for things at the front.

This happened a couple times, like when the store keeper himself was walking in and out. ohhhh my my.

Lots of paintings in broken frames. I actually really like those art pieces :) And tons of OLD junk... Play Station 1 with controllers, broken electronics, old naked Barbie dolls, candies from 20+ years ago (THAT is definitely garbage!), rusty candle holders...

If you're looking into opening a store with random pieces of art and inexpensive tableware, check this place out. I saw an old and wrecked violin. I wouldn't mind fixing that and having it on display :) Some other interesting things for me were vintage comic books (back when it was 50 cents for a couple pages!) and NOT broken plates and china cups.

Prices are set by negotiating and bargaining with the shop owner, who just minds his own business and doesn't watch over you like a vulture.

Think a hoarder's house. Dusty and full of "stuff," if you really don't like this kind of place, don't come here. It's not for everybody.

Otherwise, I know my boyfriend had a blast here. And I know there are some gems if you're willing to search :) Personally... I really hate dusty, messy places!!!

This is not the antique store from the movies with artfully displayed spinning wheels and charming roll-top desks.  This is an enter at your own risk, go digging for that treasure type of establishment.  If you think shopping at Winners is too much work because you have to search, then this is not the place for you.

The process is as much fun as the result.  I would advise wearing gloves, not because the items are so precious, but because you might want an extra layer when you have to move a pile of stuff just to get to the other pile of stuff.

I found a trove of old frames for an upcoming show.  I also noticed lots of other small knick-knacks like old cameras, little wooden boxes and other doo-dads.  (The Art Collector owned by Mr. G a few doors down is better if you are looking for large items like furniture).

One item that sticks out in my mind is a carefully framed cross-stitch landscape - on the back it was addressed to a Mr and Mrs on the occasion of their 50th anniversary in 1976 from Mr and Mrs Thompson.  If found, please return to Mrs Thompson of Georgetown, Ontario.  What brought that little treasure from its comfortable home in Georgetown to this purgatory?  I was tempted to buy it and maybe try to finding this Mrs Thompson of Georgetown.
