What a finding it was to discover Lynn, whom I consider an hairdresser extraordinaire.
I am still thankful to Lucille, the neighbourg who told me - years ago - about her wonderful hair dresser at Burrard Hair Design. She always looked so great and I had to comment on her hair style.
Since, all the friends and acquaintances I recommended Lynn to adopt her as their hairstylist, and have reacted the same way towards me: expressing their satisfaction and gratitude for the tip. At this point, even if I write this review, maybe I should be concerned that one day she may be just too busy to give me an appointment. As far as haircuts goes, I truly believe she is impossible to beat.
For starter, Lynn not only listens, but understand what you want. Then because of her experience and knowledge, she gives advice and suggestions to make what you had in mind even better, explaining why instead of just improvising and practicing on you -- like is the case in many high end places I have been before. There has been times when Lynn even read my mood and knew I was ready and inclined for a bolder variation from the previous cut.
Contrary to other salons, you don't get half an hour of snobby attitude and grandiose mannerism from a pretentious "inspired artist" about to create a masterpiece out of your hair, and a huge excavation from your budget.
Actually, what you get (as an additional perk to skills, knowledge and ridiculously low prices), is a healthy, serene presence from a very wise, pleasant and unpretentious professional.
I came to consider Lynn's haircuts bordering on therapeutic. Her chair is one you can sit and relax into for a very good experience and an honest hair cut.

I have been to this salon three times due to the reasonable price. The first time was alright; the second time, I was less than satisfied; and the third time, I was completely dissatisfied.
My first appointment was to get my hair highlighted and I didn't really have a problem with it, so I went back a second time to get my hair colored again. The stylist didn't like the color I had chosen because she thought it wouldn't compliment my skin tone, so she dyed my hair a different color that was almost exactly the same as the color I already had.
A year later, I decided to give them another try and go from a brunette to a blonde. I was told that it was possible, but that my hair would look more gold than white blonde. After seeing some pictures in a color book, I agreed and they began to color my hair. When it was done, my hair was pumpkin colored and uneven all over. When I asked them to fix it, they told me that they couldn't change it because "that was the color I had chosen" and if they dyed it any more it would look even more uneven. To top it all off, they put so much product in my hair afterwards (without my request) and brushed it so roughly that it took three shampoos to stop it from feeling clumpy and damaged.
I ended up having to go to another salon to get my hair fixed.
This place, to me, is a classic example of "you get what you pay for." This place may have great prices but they come with overbearing stylists and a lack of skill and care. -

My wife and I have been loyal customers of Burrard Hair Design for 11 years. Lien and her staff are always very friendly. The prices are very reasonable they even have a "get ten cuts get one free" program!
I suggest booking an appt. since they can be very busy sometimes with walk-in business.
My wife always gets great complements on her hairstyles and has recommended many happy customers!
