I am kind of torn about not giving this place 5 stars. The food is great, perfect for cold Vancouver days. Warm, heavy and cheesy. Fondue and grilled cheese are highlights for me, as are the soups. A little pricy for just soup and sandwich, but they make up for it.

I brought my family here when they visited over a long weekend, and they ended up coming back on the same trip. They still sometimes ask if I have been back there lately.

Now why it is 4 stars. Mainly, the place is way too busy for the small space they have. It is usually kind of tight in there and you can expect long waits. Also, when I stray from my favorites I am disappointed, re veggie sandwich and ratatouille.

Burgoo was one of the first restaurants I stumbled in to when I arrived in Vancouver. Having lived in Kentucky, you didn't need to tell me twice what 'burgoo' was--I knew the stew and the term's resonance as a warm, stick to your ribs, comfort in those bleak Bluegrass winters.

The food is solidly good, but it is so unfussy, so uncomplicated, you might wonder why you ventured out of your house to get it. The burgoo is a tasty delight, especially on a rainy Vancouver day--and paired with their house biscuits makes it a guilty pleasure. But the real guilt comes in the bill: Burgoo is shockingly expensive for what it is, and I can't get overly enthusiastic about a $15 macaroni and cheese.

We came here with some new friends for dinner.  We were seated almost immediately, on a Friday night at 7pm, which I couldn't be happier about since I was famished!

We started with the croquettes and ceviche, both tasty, but nothing mind blowing (with that said, I'd totally eat it again)

For the mains, we shared the mac and cheese, the lamb tagine and the beef bourguignon.  Everything was spot on and flavourful!  Lamb and beef cooked to perfection.  Can't wait to try the other mains and a couple of their soups!  The mac and cheese is a definitely must, but you are naive if you think you can conquer this Everest of a dish by yourself!  Just a forewarning :)  I think that I am slowly becoming a mac and cheese addict.  Is it bad if I'm working out and thinking about the mac and cheese... pump a little harder, run a little faster, just so that I can savour another bite?

oh lastly, the wine for the sangria is from a box...shudder.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE burgoo, but something about the Main St. location just doesn't measure up.  Food quality just doesn't seem to be up to par (our food was cold...) with the Kits and Point Grey locations, and the servers are not as attentive.  Still, I'll go here when I need my Burgoo fix and am not prepared to leave my Main St. bubble.

I got the croque monsieur which the menu advertised as having "Gruyere and Emmenthal sandwiches baked and smothered with Dijon accented molten cheese". The only thing other than bread and ham on the sandwich was a gritty bechamel sauce. I only finished half. My girlfriend ordered the salt sandwich (listed on the menu as the Dos Diablos) which was so salty we couldn't finish it either. The crab bisque wasn't bad, but not good enough to ever make me want to go back again.

This place was recommended to us by our landlords, and we finally made it over on a rainy late afternoon/early evening.  I love a place that stays open during the off hours, because I tend to eat at weird times.  For the sake of this story, I was having a very late lunch at 4PM, and not secretly 60 years old.

Everything was just... Perfect!  The biscuits were truly divine.  The cheese?  So.  Much.  Cheese.  Living in a land where buying cheese at the market keeps it out of my pantry except on special occasions, it's nice to go somewhere like Burgoo and truly get your cheese on from time to time.  The ginger beer I had with dinner was also amazing!  I will definitely be back soon.

I was really, really excited to try Burgoo.  My fiance and I tried to come here a few times previously, but were turned off by the 45+ minute wait at the door.  We finally decided to suck up the wait and go out to dinner with another couple.  We got to Burgoo at 6:40pm on a Thursday evening and old our wait was going to be 45 minutes.  This was completely expected.  We noticed a bunch of open seats at the bar, so we asked if we could sit there and have a drink, but there was a wait list for the bar as well.

One thing you should be aware of is that although Burgoo doesn't take reservations for groups smaller than 8, you are able to go in, leave your cell phone number, and go somewhere else until your table is ready.  Is this a good system? In theory, yes, but in my opinion no.  I think it's great you don't have to stand in the super crowded entrance, but it seems a bit unfair that people can take over 15 minutes to claim their table or seats at the bar.

After an hour and ten minutes of standing in the entrance (since it was too cold to wait outside and we didn't want to venture far), we were told that we next in line for a table, and that the group was finishing up.  The table we were waiting for was a group of 4 girls that were already eating their entrees when we walked in at 6:40pm. The group had been sitting at their table for over 45 minutes already sipping tea.  It's their right to stay as long as they want, I understand that, but if there's a line out the door, the nice thing to do would be to go to a coffee shop down the street, not hog a table for well over an hour.  The hostess kept apologizing to us, but it didn't make the unexpectedly half hour longer wait any better.

The super long wait made me want to give Burgoo one star, but the food changed my mind and upgraded my review to three stars.  We started with some biscuits which were warm, light, and delicious.  For the meal, I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, which was absolutely fantastic.  The sandwich was cheesy without being greasy, and the tomato soup was really flavorful.  My fiance had the Irish Stew, and while he enjoyed he didn't feel it was worth $18.  I gave him some of my grilled cheese to make up for it, and he agreed it was great.

I can definitely see why Burgoo is so popular.  The food is great and the quality is definitely there.  Now that it's been almost a week since I was there, I will honestly say that I enjoyed my soup and sandwich, and would definitely order it again.  I just don't know if it was worth that agonizing wait.

This is the place to go on Main St. for some quality comfort food. I arrived on a cold December night and I sat at a table near the entrance. So, it wasn't exactly warm, but once my dish of macaroni and cheese arrived, it really warmed me up.

I ordered the macaroni & more dish which has white cheddar, thyme and bacon with breadcrumbs.

This was the first time I've ever ordered mac and cheese at a restaurant for dinner and it was probably the best mac and cheese I've ever tasted. This wasn't Kraft dinner, but it was filled with lots of high quality tasting white cheddar. I worried that the bacon would make this dish taste greasy and salty, but they were actually light on the bacon - it didn't make the dish taste more salty or greasy in any way.

I did find the restaurant to be a little too dark, a little too cold and a little too small, and the service to be a little too slow. I didn't mind the slow service since the quality of my dish came out great.

Come for the grilled cheese and tomato soup, stay for the Gosling Doppelganger waiter.  This is the place to go for comfort food and as my friend so accurately categorized it the best "chain restaurant" in the city.  I have yet to venture to the location close to me but in my mind Burgoo will always mean Main Street hangover salvation.

I have to update my review - firstly the food is still so delicious. SO DELICIOUS. And as it's currently -25 in Calgary, I could sure go for some soup. Mmm.

Anyways, the past couple times I've been here, the service has been much better. Friendly, efficient, lovely servers. I'm so happy to see it has gone uphill - the hostesses are still not particularly enthused about seating you, but the servers we had were quite lovely.

Also, strawberry lemonade in the summer. Yum!

So I was seduced by the sales pitch from friends that this place is full of pimped up comfort food.. comfort gone gourmet and holy heck we were NOT disappointed at all. We were lucky to hit this place early in the evening and only had to wait about 15min for our table. The mac n cheese was massive, so was the grilled cheese my hubby enjoyed. It all tasted great, like homemade, ( if mom was a gourmet chef.) Portions were generous enough that between 3 of us we left feeling stuffed and didn't mind the slightly higher costs because it wa so good. As other folks have said, it's a small location, so they have huge wait lines..be prepared to wait, and pay a bit extra but you really won't leave hungry.

Love the look of this place.. feels like something you'd see in Manhattan, not Vancouver... that's a good thing!

The biscuits were awesome, but unfortunately I was really underwhelmed by the entrees.  I ordered the jambalaya and it was just ... okay.  Certainly not worth $17.

Next time, I'll have to keep it simple and try the mac & cheese.

It's rustic decor and comforting scents offered a warm first impression upon arriving at Burgoo. The experience that followed was well worth the wait to be seated, when we arrived at the dinner version of rush-hour.

The. Mac. And. Cheese. Enough said. That stuff still cranks my mouth into watering mode, even when conjuring thoughts of it in my mind. I can't handle it. Warm, cheesy, rich; pure perfection.

In my experience, the service has been outstanding. We were asked to switch tables, which wasn't any sort of a big deal, but as a result, were offered (and gladly accepted) a free dessert to share! This is a great sales technique, one of which I definitely approve. The molten chocolate with a touch of Mexican spice was wonderfully indulgent.

Highly recommended. It's like a trendy cabin with a menu filled with a plethora of soulful dinner options, friendly staff, tasty drinks, and comforting food scents floating about. I'm so pleased that they've opened up a location in the Kitsilano side of town as well!

Probably the best mac and cheese I've ever had. Uncomfortably filling and gut-clogging the way a good bowl of mac should be. The comfort food review highlight is no exaggeration - you WILL crawl out of this restaurant on all fours, begging for your blankie. Or a colonic.

Definitely the worst guacamole I've ever had. Bland, watery and littered with onions. Avoid.

Lemonade was lovely and thirst quenching in the most perfect way.

I left here satisfied and in a level 7 food coma the likes of which I haven't experienced since my cousin Julian's 600 person AYCE Ukrainian buffet wedding in June 2003. You've been warned.

Yeah, the french onion soup lived up to its billing.  pretty tasty, lots of onions, that's always good in my books. highly recommended.  And the mac and cheese actually kicks Mac Shack out of the water, lol, after i had reviewed it before (but i'll still go there anyways, simply for dessert ;) ).

but boy, yesterday when I went, it was a 45min wait!! at 2pm on a sunday, what else...normally i don't wait that long, but i was working away on my laptop...

If one did not have to worry about cholesterol, LDL or lactose-intolerance, there would never be enough cheese and grease in this world. Burgoo does cheese right, in the form of Gooey Cheese Grillers and Mac & Cheese. Wow my stomach is doing its begging dance and cries as I write this.

There is a neat atmosphere, although the cozy chalet feel is too fabricated in our current post-modern contemporary world. Nice holiday experience though. One big downer: the service was WAY TOO SLOW. We went on a week night, but it was packed. We were told the wait would be 45 min for a table, which actually turned out shorter, but it was the wait after putting in our order that was infinitely long. I definitely did not approve of that, thus they lose the one last star.

My soup - chicken hirana? - was super delicious and paired well with my grilled cheese because it was herb/spice-y (rather than creamy like the rest of the soup items). My companions all tried a soup each (french onion, clam chowder, and crab bisque). All were well made but I def recommend the clam chowder above all.

Definitely a worthy experience. And for anyone who likes both gooey cheese, and crispy cheese... do try the cheese grillers. You will not regret..... Just go to the gym after.

Overall I like Burgoo, bread, cheese, soups, other warm goodies all impresses me! What I don't like is not being able to make reservations on Friday and Saturday nights, then getting in after an hour to have all noise in the restaurant by having to listen to the most obnoxiously loud laughing broad that people all over the restaurant seemed to take notice. This laugh was worse then Fran Drescher, a real evening spoiler!

I found the cheese grillers boring but I am more of a cheddar cheese girl so I think it's just me, but dipped in a bowl of tasty soup and all is good!

I have had a few of their soups all were very flavorful with a very home made feel! My favorite has been the Babushka borscht, I love beets and I love this soup even more!!!

Their brushetta is just weird, it is more of pasta sauce slapped on bread with two blobs of mozzarella, not authentic and also not a good twist on the original!

I kick myself in the ass after every time I go for not having the brie fondue...maybe next time...

On a cold rainy day, there's nothing better than shlepping it out to Burgoo and downing a soup (lobster bisque, or when they have it, seafood chowder) with a cheesy grilled sammich (Dos Diablos please).

I'd tell you more about other menu items, like the Macaroni & More (sticks to your tummy, licking the hot bowl is not recommended though), or the Irish Stew (tender lamb in a rich broth), but drool is usually dripping out of the mouth for my soup & sammich that I haven't ordered them as much.

If you're feeling especially hungry, make sure to order the biscuits. Just do it. You can thank me later. Seriously, send me $5 or something.

I have had a 5 star experience with Burgoo, on Main, and then I had a 2 star experience so I'll sum this up as a 3.

First time I came here I had the Dos Diablos: "two grilled angle cut filone sandwiches with melted spicy white Cheddar, chunks of Chorizo sausage and roasted red pepper"  & the Boston clam chowder: "a thick and creamy classic of clam, potato and bacon, accented with green onion and fresh herbs." The sandwich was SO cheesy plus the pork had a perfect amount of spice. If you like clam chowder then don't hesitate (I've tasted two of their other soups and they were great as well). This is a great combo if you love dipping your cheesy pork into a hot creamy broth, ohh mow.

The latest experience I ordered the Tastier Chicken: "roasted chicken, melted Brie, apple, cucumber, red onion and greens with house Dijonnaise, served on multigrain". It tasted like microwaved chicken. Never mind, there wasn't a taste at all. The Dijonnaise was really weak/mild, the greens (just spinach) and cucumber, apple, red onion were not cooked. I ordered the spinach salad with it - I should have asked what the "greens" were in the sandwhich... Their salads are nothing special - stick with the soups. AND STAY AWAY from this sandwich!!!

Service was just fine in both sessions.

The atmosphere is super cozy! Me and my boyfriend loved the lodgey type atmosphere. The sandwiches are good, a bit messy. It wasn't over the top as for the cuisine. If your looking more for just comfort type food then this place is recommended. Service is pretty good! Now their white wine (Burgos own) is flippin delicious ! The seasonal beer has a hint of irish cream to it! Overall it's a cute cozy place for a date :)

I am in love with this place! I want to take it back to Calgary with me so desperately.

I had the spinach salad and the corn and chicken soup. I don't have much else to say other than it was delicious & completely fantastic. The interior of the restaurant is quiet enough to have good lunch-time conversations, and totally beautiful. The service wasn't great, our waitress was a little bit surly but the food came quickly enough and there weren't any mistakes made.

It was hard to give them 4 stars when the service is just lackluster (main st). However the food speaks for itself and it deserves 4 stars!!

While going to the Kits location to finish up some school work and have their amazing crostini, I fell in love with a soup. By far the most flavourful moroccan mint lentil soup I have ever had. It blew my mind.

Their mac and cheese is fabulous, but make sure you are starving because it's incredibly rich and creamy.

Cannot wait to try the grilled cheese and tomato soup!

No reason not to give it 5 stars, but I do want to ensure that my "five star rating" is for a place that is well everything that is good, (sorry that's not very clear). .

Wife and I went there around 1930 very busy and apparent 20 minute wait. But if we wanted to sit outside, we were allowed to. We ordered a drink, and appie to start and then went onto the main course. Food came out in relative ease and not a long wait.

We ordered the Fuego something... it was cheese and chorizo meat with nachos. Tasted fine, cheesey, a strong hint of lime. Only complaint was that the dish that held the nachos was obviously recently washed and had some left over water on the bottom so not all together dry as a result a few of the chips got a bit soggy at the bottom, but we got extra ones....so no harm no foul.

I ordered the Irish Stew, large portion for myself (big eater) and it was plenty, well spiced and no complaints.

    No desserts .

Would definiately go back and recommend to my friends.

You can't go wrong with the mac and cheese at Burgoo or even a soup and sandwich. Whatever mood you're in, classic comfort food will always find a home in your stomach.

I've been to this Burgoo Bistro location about a dozen times and each time I've left satisfied and, more importantly, full! The menu changes seasonally - which is nice because I get bored every now and then.

The staff here are very courteous and helpful. Although seating might be a bit of a challenge during peak hours, they do their best to accommodate everyone that walks through the door.

There's also a patio open during the summer overlooking bustling Main Street but if you enjoy people watching over some good food, it's perfect.

Finding parking can be a pain but the hassle and wait is worth it. Your taste buds will thank you for it.

Came again to this place for the cheese grillers (or grilled cheese) and the crab bisque.  Decided to try the Burgoo Buscuits.  Ridiculously good! Piping hot, cheesy and perfect already so I then decide to add some butter and my day was then officially over.  Completely content.

Since my day couldn't technically end right then and there I devoured the gooey cheese griller which they allow the cheese inside to melt on the outside and get a bit crispy!

If I wouldn't have gone into a cheese come i would stay and had the same thing for dinner!

So I have to apologize, I know that places like this, "comfort food" places don't aim to have the best salads in town, so perhaps take my review with a grain of salt.

I had what can only be described as the worst salad I've ever had out at a restaurant. Now it wasn't bad because it had gone bad, or things weren't flavourful, it was like whoever prepared it didn't bother to taste it as they went.

Greens and grains - mixed greens with quinoa, currants and pumpkin seeds, finished with a sweet honey lemon vinaigrette. Sounds good right? Well no, I hated it, there were so many flavours... tart, sweet, salty all mixed in. It was not good.

The friends I was with enjoyed their meals but I was not sold.

    Food: 4*
I know I know, there are tons of places for brunch in Vancouver.  There's even a highly rated one just a minute walk from my home, but I always seem to end up back here. I heart their Pain Doré (french toasts). Have also had their Huevos Flamenca (not bad), lobster bisque (kinda heavy), BTL (yum), & mac & cheese (meh), but the french toasts makes my heart melt.  It comes in a huge portion with lots of sweet fruity syrupy goodness.

    Service: 3*
Lovely. Never had bad service. Also, never had to wait too long for a table.

    Ambiance: 4*
The place is cute. Nothing fancy but homey & cozy.  Its patio is great for people watching (saw a HS friend I haven't seen in while once) but I would probably not sit there again after a traumatizing experience involving a bee, my face (almost) and my soup (although the restaurant was very nice about replacing the soup).

    Value: 3.5*
The Pain Doré & avg price of other brunch dishes: $10. Pretty standard compared to other brunch menus in Vancouver.

    Recommended/Will I Return: In a heartbeat.

Burgoo. Just like mom used to make, only better, heartier, and healthier. Okay, scratch the healthy part. For the most part, Burgoo's food involves heavy breads and cheeses. Awesome right? Yes. Brick-in-the-stomach inducing? Yes.

Today I opted for a wee bit of healthy and split a brie and ham sandwich to dip in my nom nom nom tomato soup. This soup sure ain't no Campbells! Hearty, pulpy, rich and served in a massive mug. I had to be rolled out.

The downside? The wait. We came at lunch and waited 20 mins for a table. Not the end of the world, but I'll know for next time to make a reso. This place is popular for a reason. Mmm hearty cookin' makes me happy!

Upon walking in you feel like you've entered a cozy ski or trappers lodge.  I wished I'd worn a knitted sweater (maybe even the ones your grandma lovingly knits for you) and jeans to match the decor.  It was packed and me and my friend were lucky to score a spot at the bar.  I think I had a clam chowder or some type of seafood soup and was rewarded with the tons of seafood in it!  My sandwich was really good and I would have loved to have eaten their famous macaroni and cheese, but was out to play some dodgeball after so I had to eat light.

It was a tad pricey, but when you factor the atmosphere and the quality it was really good.

Cozy place with cozy food!  Burgoo is where I go when I want to curl up and eat something warm and comfy.

The bright summer patio is a great place to share drinks and one of their unbelievable fondues, and in the winter it is heated, blankets are distributed, and outdoor dining becomes soft and decadent.

The food is flavourful and rich.  The gooey cheese grillers are as perfect as a grilled cheese sandwich can get - pair with a cheesy bowl of (so far in my travels) Main street's best French onion soup, and a sweet glass of one of their meads - they have MEAD!  Try it - it is really nice! When I took my dad there (this is totally a dad-friendly place) he was all about the stew.  I adore their soups.

The wine list is also a very good selection.

There is often a wait, so be prepared to put your name down and go up the street (I usually hit up the  5 Point) for a glass or two before dinner.  It even kind of adds to the relaxed nature of dinner at Burgoo.  Dining there is not something to be rushed, and goes well with a (good) date, catching up with family, or good friends.

While all the other Elites in Vancouver are doing their Elite party and after party thing, I'm diligently sitting here at my home office typing out another review.  This one is different though.  It surrounds the establishment known as Burgoo Bistro.  More about the comfort aspect over the food.

A review about comfort food and in particular through the eyes of a young Japanese giirl who came to Canada for a planned vacation that just so happened to begin just after the Tsunami and Earthquake that rocked Japan.
This night was her last night in Vancouver, before returning to Japan and where her new life as a high school teenager would begin in the near, distant future.  It was a somber feeling and the reality that she would soon have to face when going back to her life on the island, albeit temporarily till next school term.

So it was that night that we took her out for what we all here call comfort food.  Her night out as an adult and away from her siblings and parents.  Away from the domestic familiar distractions.  It was on this night that she was out, dressed like an adult and felt like one too.  She could be her own person.
She tried a little bit of everything, from the fondue to the mac and cheese to the soup and the sandwich.  Comfort food that made her feel all warm and humble inside.  Happy and giddy too, but also sad.  Happy for the life that she had and the thankfullness that she felt but sad that she had to go home.  It was the conversation that she was able to have that made her night out special.  The people around her, the ambiance and the language.
English, to speak it seemed so special to her now.

It was this night that she decided she wanted to come back and go to school here.  It was this night that concreted the desire to live here and discover what her new life in Vancouver could be like.
And it all happened that night at Burgoo.  Wow! what a mouthful.
    What an epiphany!

And to top it all off?  The food aint bad either.

Afterall. itis comfort food and that's what we were here for that night.  To give her comfort.

I love Burgoo. It had been too long since my last visit.

Last night my friends and I were on the hunt for some major comfort food. Burgoo was suggested and everyone was game.

There was hardly a wait, we got there as one table was leaving. Nice.

Mead was on special for $5/glass and the one I had (Middle Mountain Black Mead) was great! I was on a bit of a budget though, so I had to make it last through my meal. I'd never had mead before last night. My life is now complete.

I went in with the intent of ordering Mac and Cheese, but somehow I was distracted.. Oh, yes I remember now. The harvest soup was FREAKING CAULIFLOWER AND CHEDDAR. And it was vegetarian friendly! As soon as our delightful waiter said the words, it was decided. I went with the soup and sandwich combo for $15. Obviously I ordered the grilled cheese with this. Who turns down 4 kinds of cheese inside delicious fried buttery bread? Idiots. Oh, and I guess lactose intolerant people. Although two of our group were lactose intolerant and that didn't stop either of them.

We decided to share the Brie fondue while we waited. It was soooo creamy and gooey and delicious. It came with 2 kinds of bread chunks and some apple slices, and we pretty much annihilated it within minutes and the only solution was to order another fondue. This time the "Fonduemental" made with Emmenthal and Gruyere cheeses, and served with more bread and grapes rather than apple slices. This one tasted stronger of white wine than the brie one, and was also much sharper. I liked both for different reasons, but the brie fondue was definitely my favourite.

The soup was so amazing. I kept picking the pieces of fried cheese off the side of my sandwich and dipping it in. It had some melty cheese on top and it was so flavourful! The sandwich was delightfully greasy (in a good way) and so full of cheese that the self-loathing started before I even left the restaurant. You know what though? It was worth it.

I can't wait to get home and finish my leftovers.

Please, nobody tell me how many calories or grams of fat I consumed. It's better if I just don't know... :(

Burgoo is the ultimate place for comfort food.

I'm talking French Onion Soup (which by the way was the BEST I've ever had), Mac and Cheese, Burgoo's BLT sandwich, Cheese fondues, hearty soups... I can go on and on.

I was feeling a little tired this morning after a hard night of partying and drinking and that French Onion soup just melted my crappy mood away...

This chilly chilly weather had me craving some warm comfort food, so Burgoo seemed like a good choice. Imagine my initial disappointment when I was told we'd have to wait an hour for our table! Fortunately, Cafe Rustico (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) came to the rescue, and we waited in cosy, tea-filled warmth.

Lunch for me was the tomato soup and Kentucky burgoo:

    Straight Up Tomato Soup 3.5/5:

This soup has a nice tangy kick to it and a generous swirl of olive oil on top, but I prefer chunkier versions. Loved that their soups are served in large mugs!

    Kentucky Burgoo 4/5:

This hearty stew is flavourful and super filling! It's served with either mashed potatoes or biscuits, but my server said I could get a little of both. Nice! Of the two, I preferred the biscuits. I ordered a full sized portion, and now have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

    Service 3/5:

The service was average, not poor but not great by any standards. My party of three was placed at a 2-top table, so it was cramped, but we were too hungry to wait for a larger table. We had two different servers, and the one who settled our bill was better than the first one.

    Decor 4/5:

I can't speak for the other locations, but this Main Street location has a chalet feel to it: cosy and comforting, just like the food!

There's not much to complain about here, but given all the praise I've heard about Burgoo, I (naturally) had high expectations. I wasn't blown away, but I'd still go back.

    Cheesy cheese overdose.

Went to the roots of childhood eating and ordered the classic mac & cheese while the gf got the the gooey cheese grillers with pacific chowder soup.

When the grilled cheese arrived, I thought it was garlic toast. Biting into the butter-by-osmosis bread revealed the gooey mix of white cheeses. Stretching the cheese was fun, but where's the good old yellow/orange cheddar that mommy used?

Chowder was ok, but didn't comfort me. I think it was the peas that threw me off. Peas don't belong in chowder! That's what pea soup is for, geez.

Mac 'n Cheese. Same deal. White cheddar threw off my childhood memories.

I forgot to add we started with the guacamole with chips. Although not bad, it added to my confusion as to this whole comfort food concept.

I think I need more veggies in my diet after this.

My mom and I went at noon on a Wednesday. We were very pleased with it. We got right in and the food was so delicious.
