For costumes or just enlivening your daily work wear, head to Burcu's Angels to uncover a gem or two. There's a little mysticism in each piece and plenty to please everyone from bargain shoppers to the very particular.

Burcu herself is a vibrant lady, offering her straight-forward opinions as you try on items from the hand-picked racks of clothing at her store. The free bin is worth a good riffling and if you're feeling thrifty, bring in something to trade.

A vintage lover's dream! I could spend hours hunting through this store and trying on all the glamourous dresses and funky accessories. It's whimsical, eccentric, and sparkly, and I love it!

It's not cheap, but then the clothing is one-of-a-kind and in good condition. Sometimes they get a little pushy, but as long as you go with a budget in mind and a get a little picky (there's too much to choose from otherwise!) then you can have a marvelous shopping experience.

The owner doesn't do consignment, but she will do trades if you have a piece she's interested in.

I love shopping there and I almost always leave a satisfied and cheery customer.

Love this store. It's fun vintage clothing and jewelry and rarely do I leave without something. The owner and staff are fabulous, with lots of great suggestions whether you are looking for a costume or something to add interest to your work attire. My friend found a 70s shirt for a new years party while I coveted a Mad Men-esque dress and jacket and multiple pieces of jewelry!

Also known as Pesky Peacocks. This is the second and newest shop by owner Burcu Ozdemir.
In this little shop you feel as though you sneaked back behind the stage, into the costumes room. Full of dramatic, not so gently used period pieces. From Cowboy to "Come up and see me sometime" ;-)
Burcu is of Turkish heritage who is all personality and creativity. She is also a singer who's deep voice can be heard on C.D. and performed live locally.

Also there's a wonderful little corset shop next door with some droolicious numbers.

Sure, there are plenty of vintage clothing stores lining Main Street for you to choose from, but when it comes to one really sticking out, it's Burcu's Angels. You'll instantly recognize this shop by its distinct blue Charlie's Angels-style sign, and you'll know you're in the right place when Burcu herself (owner) starts singing her original songs over the store's PA.

Thanks to Burcu's eccentrically stylish vision, the selection at Angels is second-to-none, picked up by the owner herself at flea markets, sales, and other second-hand stores. And the best part? You can bring in your own pieces to trade or barter seven days a week, or raid the free, 24-hour box outside the store.

Walked in with curiosity and a sense of humour. Walked out with the cutest pair of Betsey Johnson pumps, wishing I could have bought everything I fell in love with.

A hidden gem! I drive by it everyday on my way home from work and finally popped in after having a sorta bad day. The guy working there cheered my up by helping me try and find a halloween costume, he just kept bringing me cool funky things to try on. I also noticed a huge trunk of scarves and we spent about 15 mins sifting through finding a bunch of really marvelous ones for me to take home, P.S. I am a scarf fanatic! I also found a sexy little purple satin nighty for $10 and a funky wide belt with a steel hook buckle that you would wear over a big sweater as an empire waist accessory for $10 as well. They have really cool sherlock holmes hats and trench coats which was what I was thinking of being but a co-worker wants to team up and be mario and luigi so i'm gonna head back and see if they have anything good for that!

Burcu's Angels is the definitive location for all of your costume needs, be it for Halloween, a masquerade ball or the Burning Man festival.  With a fab selection of men's and women's vintage fur, leather and polyester jackets, pants, tops, dresses, footwear and accessories, you would be hard pressed not to find something here.  They take clothes as credit as per usual with used and vintage shops and the owners are ever-so welcoming, encouraging you to have some fun and try on an item or two.  The owner told me that this location would be closing come January and a new one will take its place at 221 East 16th Avenue called Pesky Peacocks.

Say you need a tutu for a costume party or perhaps something red and lacy for your own personal boudoir; where would you go for such things?  The obvious answer is Burcu's Angels where they carry everything from racy lingerie to motorcycle jackets, from cowboy boots to crinolins.  They also have a decent selection of what would be, for most of us, everyday wear - you know jeans and tank tops, for example.  This is definitely THE place to go for Halloween, and anything you buy here, they'll take back after Halloween for credit.  Now that's a good kind of trick or treat.  The last time I was there, the owner mentioned something about moving to 16th Ave, still near Main, so if, in the near future,  you can't find this store
where it usually is try 221 E. 16th Ave.  Or look them up at http://www.myspace.com....
