In the Northeastern of Thailand, men wear Pakama (sarong) in bright check patterns. That's how my fascination with check pattern was developed. The first Burberry piece I purchased, four years ago, was a carryall bag, similar to the Smoked Check that was recently released.
I was really excited about the opening of a Burberry store in Toronto, since the selection at Holt Renfrew tends to be limited. The men's section occupies the first floor and the store does get most of the collection offered on-line or in their US stores. In my opinion, Burberry is the perfect place to build your wardrobe with classic pieces.
Staff are friendly and attentive without any of the attitude one might expect from a high end retail store. I love that staffs would introduce themselves, allow me to browse the store peacefully and available when I need some assistance. Several times they went out of their way to search the stock room for a particular size or item in stock but not currently displayed in the showroom. -

Look, if you're really after trench coats and classic pieces like that, come to Burberry. I find their coats to be pretty amazing, but just be sure that you check out all the other stores first before you plunk down $2000+ on a coat.
I think the service here is pathetic, however. They absolutely judge you when you walk into a store in just jeans and a coat, or if you look really young.
I find SOME of their sales people are great, others you can barely understand what they're saying (and vice versa) and the one manager I came across was not 100% focused on customer service and couldn't make a decision to let someone help me find a coat.
I mean, HELLO!!! I am paying $2000 for a coat. The least you could do is fawn over me and send someone to help me find said coat rather than hemming and hawing about not having enough people on the floor downstairs (for the record there were 4 downstairs and I just needed 1 of the 4).
It can also be hard to find a sales associate to help you, and frankly, they should be crawling all over the floor to help. When I've gone upstairs, I have yet to receive a "Hello", and/or to find a single sales associate manning the floor.
Still, the coats are nice. I just wish the service matched my expectations. -

Canada's flagship Burberry store is finally here and it looks great. The setup of the store is nice and easy to navigate. The facade blends well with the rest of Bloor street and is right at home next to Hermes and Gucci.
As I expected, however, the products suffer from the Canadian and/or Bloor street mark-up, so you're paying about 15-30% more than what you will pay in comparable American stores. I wonder what the sales will look like, but even then, it will be hard to keep up with the Americans.
Can't comment on service because I didn't purchase anything, but I imagine its consistent with the rest of Bloor. -

Impeccable service. Very personable! When I visit Toronto, I try to shop here rather then Holts.
Two floors. Menswear is in the back of the first floor, Women's accessories are in the front. Upstairs are women's shoes and womens wear with Burberry's different collections (Brit, Prorsum etc.).Listed in: fashion.
