Review from Angela L.
Oooh girl, you fa' real? It was one of my last days of work in Richmond. How to celebrate? Obviously with some kind of blended chocolate monstrosity. I had to have it.
First of all, I was really choked that they don't have some kind of website with their hours and their flavours conveniently posted. I'm a chooser - I like to take my sweet time and think about it before I choose. Unfortunately, the options at Bubble Queen are overwhelming for choosers like me. It doesn't even end with picking a flavour, as the Queen of Bubbles, bless her democratic heart, has something for everyone. Fruit slush, iced tea, powder, fresh, milk, no milk, whip, no whip, half sweet, honey sweetened, unsweetened, bubbles, no bubbles, and so on and so forth. Standing at the front for 10 minutes squinting at the menu board and causing a bottleneck is not an option for me, but neither is hastily selecting something sub-par and not being satisfied. I don't tolerate sweets well. If I'm going to risk a headache, it has to be good. Fortunately, Yelp saved the day. Kinder Bueno slush? I'm sold.
The thing is a beast. It's a lot of chocolately action, so either come ready for the caloric excess or share with someone, as it's one of those crave-every-once-in-a-while-but-only-indulge-on-sp ecial-occasions type of treats. It even comes with two whole pieces of Kinder Bueno chocolate bar on top. It wasn't really a "distinct" Bueno taste, but I can't really complain with generic chocolately nutty deliciousness. There were also some HK cafe style snacks and egg waffles available, which I unfortunately did not get a chance to try.
The staff working were surprisingly pleasant, "surprisingly" because I imagine that it must be annoying working somewhere like this and encountering choosers like me who hem and haw. Perhaps it's the epic wall of chocolate that keeps them smiling. I would definitely return to try out another of their multitude of flavours (the fresh fruit ones looked delicious) or to treat myself to a liquid chocolate bar again. -
Review from Quan H.
Went back again last night and ordered their papaya milk (again). This time I only tasted milk and a hint of papaya, which was a bit disappointing, and the oreo bubble waffles - no matter how much our group tried, we couldn't taste the oreos. I guess it didn't meet our expectations. We also ordered the matcha mochi waffle - which, apparently, was taken away by another group that ordered after us. There weren't a lot of people there, so I don't know why they couldn't recognize the people who ordered what =/
However, the bueno shake tasted good - they blended a whole into it, so you could taste the grittiness of the choco bits, and topped it off with a part of the chocolate piece on top, with some whipped cream. Definitely not a drink you should order if you're on a diet.... ;)
If they could be consistent with their fresh fruit drinks, they will have a faithful customer here. I'll probably be back to try their other waffles, though~1 Previous Review: Show all »

Can you imagine, any of your favorite chocolate bars, blended with milk and ice, resulting in one amazing liquid dessert!
Yes, this is THE place to get it. Lindt chocolate, Ferrero Rocher, After Eight....you get the idea.
Needless to say, I was a satisfied customer when I took a sip of my Malteser slush. Bits of grounded up chocolate, within a sweet, smooth, creamy drink. Oh my!
Yes, I'll be back.Listed in: ROTDs!

I really like this place but I sadly need to take off half a star - at least. The last two times I've come here for my bubble tea fix (a bubble tea fix which INCLUDES boba), Bubble Queen had NO BOBA! What bubble tea place has no bubbles when it's only half way through their store hours? Plus, they weren't even in the middle of making any. They had none in their __ square block radius of a store - unbelievable.
Bubble Queen makes delicious and fresh bubble tea but today they were fresh out of boba - which is a huge disappointment if you're craving for bubbles. I ended up buying a honey red tea, only to try and drown my boba sorrows. So beware of this possible scenari0.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Joanna N.
I came here specifically for the bubble waffles, thanks to fellow yelpers!
There's a wide selection of bubble waffles from original ($3) to peanut & coconut shavings (~$3.50). I tried the original and green apple with cinnamon. In Hong Kong, original is the usual flavor, so I'm not used to other flavors. I thought the green apple was only OK.
They have a $5 special which includes 2 bubble teas & 1 chocolate bubble waffle. Unfortunately I'm not into chocolate, so I couldn't take advantage of the deal...
Bubble Queen also has a wide range of bubble tea selections to fit every person's taste! These are all definitely worth a try!! I tried the taro milk tea with coconut jelly, lavender milk tea (hot), and the jasmine milk tea (hot). All were equally delicious! And for ~$3 each, you get a great deal because they come in a huge cup!
Another pro-free wi fi!!
Will definitely be returning here when I'm back in Vancouver!Listed in: British Columbia Edition

Yes, why the high rating?! No other bubble tea w/ this much selection, all the candies/chocolates to choose from, and same for the waffles---so many choices of filling.
Ordered waffles w/ peanut filling & the mango w/ coconut jelly.
I'm gonna come here 2 times a week since there's other flavours for me to try: malteser, kit kat, ferrero rocher.... -

This place has pretty awesome drinks, but I usually do not get them because they are far too rich for me. I usually end up getting a soy matcha milk tea, which it has a really nice matcha flavour. The bubble waffles are good, they offer a daily deal, I think its 2 orders for $5. I wish the bubble waffles were a little more chewy, I somehow think they changed the recipe. But all in all, everything is beyond decent.

Finally had a chance to see what this place was all about.
Parking is kind of retarded here. The Chinese mall where this shop is located has a parking in the middle (with the stores along the perimeter), but this store is on the OUTSIDE of the mall, meaning you have to walk around the inside to a tunnel leading outside. Oh, and they also locked one of the parkade gates, meaning we had to take the far way around. There were several signs warning that if you left the premises that your car would be towed immediately. I was afraid during my entire visit that this was going to happen, even though I wasn't breaking any rules. Ugh.
Onto the shop. When I first stepped in, 2 things were immediately noticed:
1) the rack full of chocolate bar flavoured mixes. We're talking about the real deal here, like Dairy Queen.
2) the epic (what I call) Wall of Chocolate. Much of their inventory is stored up against the back wall on a window sill. We're talking about boxes and boxes of Kinder Bueno and Oreos. I was awestruck when I saw this thing. I can see people breaking into this place to get access to said wall.
Staff were friendly, and both were trilingual today. I'm not talking about no French though. Nobody uses that here.
My friend Vincent N. tried the Hershey White Chocolate bubble tea, and I had the Toblerone bubble tea. It was a bit pricey at $6, but it included bubbles (which both of us declined). Everything is made "fresh" (if you can call it that for chocolate bars), so our drinks took a few minutes to make.
Wow, this thing is freaking good. Like an Asian version of a DQ Blizzard (and hopefully not as fattening). Nice thick chocolate, rich taste, and definitely high on the quantity side. Towards the end I thought i was sucking on ice, but it turns out that the bits on the bottom were actual chunks of Toblerone. The dessert after the dessert.
Now to figure out how much exercise I need to do to burn this one off.. -

OK Seriously!! this has GOT to be the craziest Boba joint i have been to so far!
Located in a hard to find place strip mall near Cambie and Garden city lives a small bubble tea establishment where they sell the coolest and the most creative boba around using commercial candies such as Kit Kat and Ferroche chocolate bars to sex up their Chocolate boba!
"Clever" I said and then i went to try their Kit Kat Boba! All i could say after was "WOW" i was in compete Chocolate overload!! I accompanied that with their famous oreo waffle! SAY WHAT?? ! i got hooked right after that! -

First impressions - this place is kind of a dump. It's in an obscure location, crappy non-existent decor, the floors are sticky with I'm guessing spilt bubble tea, service is terrible, and the table/seats are crammed together uncomfortably.
So why would I still go back to this "dump"? They have one of the most inventive bubble tea selections in Vancouver, and you can add unique toppings such as mochi to your After Eight or Toblerone Slush. They're famous for their bubble waffles - and while I give them kuddos for the larger flavour selections... I tried a black sesame waffle and thought it was nothing special, if not a bit undercooked.
This place falls into my "Take Away, Just Don't Stay" category. Until the nicer bubble tea places inevitably copy Bubble Queens creative lead, I guess this place will just have to do. -
Review from Rick C.
I finally made it back to Bubble Queen after my first trip there. I really hate their hours. I've been by a few times and they were closed. What kind of a Chinese place opens late, closes early and on holidays?
This time around, I went with the Ferrero Rocher slush and Oreo waffles. Both were pretty delicious and eased my annoyance with their hours and horrendously inconvenient location in a Richmond industrial mall park.
The slush tasted just like the chocolate treat and was well blended like I enjoy. The waffle, if anything, had too much Oreo pieces, but was quite tasty and delicious.
I obviously want to go back again when I can and try their famous mango slush in all its glory as well as all their other treats.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Oreo bubble waffle. You can't really get any better than that. I can't compare this to any other establishment because I don't often go to bubble tea places.
After reading Rick's review, I had to have an oreo waffle like it was my life mission to stuff it in my face.
They have all sorts of bubble teas and slushes and more bubble waffle flavours which I would love to try out.
The only bad thing about this place is the location. No big deal though. -

What sets this bubble tea joint apart from others is their specialty drinks. They have a variety of flavours including Maltesers, After Eight, Oreo, and and Ferrero Rocher, just to name a few. There's also the standard fruit drinks, milk teas, and more.
The drinks are a lot richer (ie. fatty) than most bubble tea places because of the fresh ingredients they use. It's a candy shop slash fresh fruit bar!
My strawberry slush was one of the best I've had, made with fresh strawberries. One or two pieces managed to escape being blended up with the rest of them, which made my drink even more delicious. I only wish there had been more chunks of strawberry in there!
Most drinks are about $4-6.

i can get stuff here without sugar added. But the majority of the stuff here is the regular bubble tea fare. When I was there, Mango was being heaviliy promoted, and the overall quality of the drinks served were pretty good.
Vibrant young staff, Chinese TV on the wall to watch, clean and organized.
They have the typical snacks like toast and stuff.
There is also a facebook page which has more info on the place itself and images.
Worth a check in and try if you like bubble tea.
For me, Bubble tea equates to happiness. This place makes me happy. -

This was a recommendation from a friend of mine and I'm glad he told me about this place. There are very unique bubble teas here! If you are a chocolate fan, you will love this place! They turn everyday delights such as Beuno, Kit Kat, Hersey's, Ferroche etc into a delicious bubble tea form. The first one I tried was the After Eight Slush. This one is wonderful the first few sips (maybe half a cup), then it gets too minty. There are bits of After Eight chocolates in the slush itself and its topped with whip cream and a whole After Eight Chocolate bar (check out my pictures). You definitely need a snack to go with this drink. Another one I tried (my friend's order) was Bueno! Mmm, this one makes me feel less guilty for drinking it haha! I should've ordered this one! Its not too sweet and there is no over powering chocolate taste. Again, they topped this one with whip cream and half a Bueno chocolate bar.
I am definitely going back to try the rest!
Parking: free in the parking lot. There is paid street parking....
Wi-fi: available and free
I think...its cash only...I did not pay attention to this part, but I am pretty sure it is cash only..
