Bubble Buzz is unquestionably my favourite proprietor of bubble tea. Their sago, unlike that of many other restaurants, has has a consistent texture (no tough centre) and no bitter taste.
Also unlike most other bubble tea shops, the bubble tea is made right in front of you, with no walls or one-way glass to hide the process. Makes you wonder what the other places are putting in your drinks... -

I came to Bubble Buzz for the eggies (a treat I first experienced in Vancouver), but I was a little disappointed. My previous experience with eggies was a light crispy sphere that broke off easily and had a little bit of chewy batter in the middle. The eggies here were dense, heavy, and tough. The mango bubble tea that we ordered was really tasty (thick and not too sweet), except the sago were undercooked.
I won't go out of my way to come back, but it's a nice place to stop by if you're in the neighborhood. -

Great place! I had the mango bubble juice with lychee jelly, and my husband had strawberry bubble juice with lychee jelly. Best bubble juice I've ever had- all fresh, no powders, and you can really taste the difference. So fresh! The staff were really friendly too. Also, they have board games that you can play with your friends, which is a nice touch. We will be going back! I highly recommend!

Summary:
- Bubble Buzz just opened this week in the old Taco Del Mar location within the base of the Icon tower.
- Menu looks pretty standard bubble tea although everything is made with real fruit juices (vs. powders) and tastes very fresh.
- They have first week specials that run until July 3rd so give it a shot! Go this Sat and get an 'eggie' - like a d'lish waffle. Will also be interesting if they do anything for this Sat's downtown market in the future (people asked me about my 'eggie' - give out samples!).
- Space is very minimalist-looking and simple. -

Meeting friends for coffee after work? That's so 1990's. Try meeting up for bubble tea. All the cool kids are doing it.
There are many reasons to like Bubble Buzz, the new bubble tea joint on 104th St. First, they only use real fruit juices; no powders or mixes here. Second, they have a wide selection of bubble juices and milks. The young coconut milk is to die for, and the cantaloupe juice is the perfect refreshment for a warm Saturday afternoon at the Farmers' Market. Third, they have lots of add-ons for your drinks, which I hear are really good (I haven't tried any because their basic drinks are so spectacular. And finally, the sago are the perfect consistency - soft and chewy. And who doesn't like to chew their drinks?
Give Bubble Buzz a try. Personally, I can't wait to go back and try more flavours.
***So, after returning (for my fourth time in two weeks!) and tasting the avocado bubble milk, I changed my rating to 5-stars. This place serves the best bubble tea I've ever had.*** -

On a really hot day walking through the downtown farmer's market, we saw people handing out free sago mango drinks. As someone who cannot refuse free items, I had a taste. Since it was so hot, the brief promise of something sweet and cooling had my husband and I entering Bubble Buzz, to check if it lives up to its name.
For some reason, we both had a craving for Avocado bubble tea -- for bubble tea neophytes, it might be an odd choice, but it's a really creamy concoction. Calorically dense, yes, but oh so good. Bubble Buzz's fresh avocado concoction is less sweet than what I normally am used to which is a positive, and I appreciated the ice to tea milk ratio -- some places have it too runny, others too thick, and I felt the consistency was just right.
The drink hit us in just the right spot. :) Still, I don't know if I was "wowed." The extra dollar we paid for it is possibly due to the cafe's location, as well as the nice seats and interior, but it certainly doesn't taste a dollar more.
If I'm in the area craving bubble tea, I'd probably stop by. But, if I had to go out of my way... I probably wouldn't. -

My first experience with bubble tea was about eight years ago. I wasn't impressed. A friend suggested I give it another shot, so we mosied on over to Bubble Buzz.
Instead of a milk-based tea, I tried a fruit-based one. It was delicious! The folks at Bubble Buzz use fresh ingredients to concoct what I'd describe as a cross between a Booster Juice and a Slurpee.
The drink I tried was a mango fruit tea with sago and lychee pieces. It was light tasting and not too sweet.
The service was great, and the place has a really clean, bright look to it. I will definitely go again. -

Visited Bubble Buzz on Sunday for the last day of their Grand Opening Specials!
Sunday's Special was any 3 menu items for $12!
Tried a Honeydew fresh fruit bubble tea a the recommendation of a Yelper and boy oh boy did that taste refreshing and light!
Also tried the Pineapple juice fresh fruit bubble tea - Hubby and I liked this one the best! So unbelievably fresh tasting and not overly sweet at all - just the sweetness from the pineapple and from the sago - DELISH! I highly recommend the Pineapple juice fruit bubble tea!
We also shared one of their dessert bowls - came with 1 small scoop of mango ice cream, 1 small scoop of green tea ice cream, fresh strawberries, sliced banana, and real whipped cream on top. Definitely a nice summer treat!
Hubby agreed that this was the best and freshest bubble tea he has ever had!

Heard about their grand opening a couple of months ago and I'm glad to see another bubble tea cafe downtown besides...that place...in city center (it's obviously not very memorable!).
I really like the summery color scheme they have inside. It really feels like they grabbed a page out of an Ikea catalogue. Hopefully, it'll still feel light and fun when the winter hits.
Staff are all incredibly nice. I've gotten to know one of them so well that she usually makes a surprise flavored one (I have an odd habit of being so indecisive, I'd rather have people order for me). They have useful recommendations and are pretty knowledgeable.
As you might have read, ingredients are fresh and does not feel sugary. The amount is ample but the only downside would be for the price you are paying for, maybe we could get some more?
One thing I have to definitely try is their egg waffles. I remember eating them overseas so hopefully they can recreate the magic.Listed in: 30 Days of Summer

I haven't gotten bubble tea too often because it's usually just ok at the Vietnamese subs shops I stop in. I use the LRT station right by Bubble Buzz and usually pass by after they are closed but I managed to catch it open last week. The owner himself was working and very enthusiastic about what he does. I knew I wanted avocado and asked for suggestions about extras. He suggested lychee popping sago and they went were great with the avocado. Seeing him cut open actual fruit was great and the drink was the perfect sweetness. I tried an eggie and they had a pleasant texture being crisp all over. I will be stopping there again for sure to try several more combinations. Bubble Buzz makes the other bubble tea I have had seem so pitiful in comparison.

I've had many a bubble tea and Bubble Buzz is as good if not better than most. I am especially impressed that they use fresh fruit in all of their drinks - no powders or artificial flavours. I had a fresh taro milk, which is an acquired taste that I enjoy.
Customers have a choice of juice or milk as a base. Drinks come with sago, but you can choose a variety of additional chewable pieces at an additional cost. There are also several desserts from which to choose, particularly the "eggie," which is a Hong Kong style waffle.
Located along the 104 Street Promenade, there is also wifi and plug ins for computers. It's a great addition to a very cool part of the city. -

Guess I'll be the bad guy here and give Bubble Buzz a rating less than 4 stars. I was really excited and looking forward to trying it after hearing all the great buzz, but it just wasn't that great for me.
I ordered the taro milk tea with extra lychee jelly. The sago (or pearls) were very soft and almost mushy, not chewy the way I usually prefer. I'll hand it to Bubble Buzz that they use real and fresh ingredients, no powders. The taro unfortunately tastes very plain in fresh form, so it kind of tastes like you have a milk-milk tea! The powders may not be as healthy, but there's so much more flavour.
Upon leaving the store my bubble tea decided to explode on me as well. Thank goodness it wasn't much, but I was not impressed. It's standard practice to tip your cup upside down to evenly distribute the contents and flavour inside said cup, after they have sealed the plastic lid covering. I'm not talking violent shaking here, but just a quick tilt. Emphasis on the word "sealed". I guess mine wasn't, since it ended up spilling ... I don't think I'm asking a lot though, to have a proper seal on my purchase?
So no, I won't be going back. Not just because of my minor incident but because the flavour and texture just didn't capture my tastebuds. Dream Tea still holds the crown title for bubble tea! -

I CRAVE Bubble Buzz on an almost daily basis! Unfortunately (but thankfully for my wallet), living in Sherwood Park doesn't allow me to visit them every day. If they ever open a shop out here though, I will be their stalker customer!
I have a milk allergy and try to avoid as much sugar and processed foods as a rule. I LOVE Bubble Tea, but am often sad when I order a "Fresh Fruit" tea and find it made with milk (silly me for not always asking) or with extra sugar added. I never have this problem at Bubble Buzz. Their fresh fruit drinks are amazing, and just as they advertise: FRESH. You can stand there and watch them blend the fresh fruits before sticking them in a cup full of sago and sealing the lid.
I have tried the following: watermelon (this is a repeat for me as its SO fresh and summery), lychee, jackfruit, pineapple, young coconut. They are all amazing. They have about 15 fresh fruit flavours as well as a variety of milk flavors, fresh made "Eggies" (waffles) and some desserts.
The shop itself is fairly small but very clean, modern and comfortable. They are also great to enjoy on a Saturday at the Market and sometimes have promotions in conjunction with Market vendors (ie: 1$ off Medicine Man Bison with purchase of drink).
If you visit be sure to ask for extra "Mango Popping Sago" - little balls of mango juice that pop and release their sweetness when you bite into them. I could eat a bowl of these on their own! -

Second to none in terms of good bubble tea! Real fruit juices instead of powders and they offer a wide assortment of add-ins, like these bubbles that actually contain mango juice and pop when you eat them. They make "eggies", which are Hong Kong-style waffles. They are shaped differently than Belgian waffles (imagine something like giant bubble wrap and you get the picture), which allows one to break off little pieces to eat. The waffles are light, very crunchy, and eggy (as the name suggests). I spoke at length with the owners when I was in, since for the moment I had the place to myself, and was really impressed with them. Hands down, this is the best bubble tea I've had in the city, and the real fruit makes all the difference.

I stopped by today. Great bubble tea (black tea based- I seem to be the only person in the world who orders it without sugar), friendly people, didn't get a chance to try the eggies or the fruit based drinks but they look delicious. My main request for improvement would be that they offer a green tea option, even matcha would be good.
