The Woodlands, TX
Lately I have had a bunch of work in Dallas, TX. As I am always looking for new places to catch a beer and a bite, I consulted YELP to locate a "Gastro Pub" or a good dive bar with quality food. I went with YELP twice and checked out the Meddlesome Moth and Capital Grill. Both had great beer selection but neither delivered on the food. Not to mention I saw guys wearing stocking caps in the middle of May in Dallas. It was over 80 degrees and no snow in the forecast. These places remind me of BRC in Houston or Beavers. Nice places for the twenty something people that want to be seen. I want to eat.
My last night there I drug a guy to an old go to joint in dtown D. Bryan Street Tavern has a new chef with a daily sandwich, hot dog, and burger special. I usually cant resist the thin crispy square cut pizza at BST (or anywhere) but the last time I was in before this the "shaggy" look alike bar tender talked me in to trying the Dag Wood Club. Huge triple decker of roast beef, turkey and ham on grilled sour dough. It was so good I decided to try another sandwich. The special on the day we went was the Lunch Lady Special. Three sloppy joe sliders with home made potato chips. I felt like an eighth grader again. They were excellent.
The burger special on this day was a pizza burger. My buddy ordered it and had to use knife and fork to attack. There was a lot of gooey cheese and they use the house made red sauce. I cant tell you what it tasted like because dude hoovered it before I could even ask. But he couldn't tell you what the sliders taste like either. Every man for themselves.
The hot dog o the day was a sauerkraut covered New York dog with spicy mustard etc. Neither one of us had room but we thought about splitting it. Its on the list. Soon. Soon.
Places like this are what the new order of Gastro Pubs or whatever new name they give themselves are trying to be. Call it what you want but I'm from the Midwest. Up there they are called Taverns. They usually have one thing they do really well along with whatever you want to drink. Here, they do it all well. With whatever you want to drink. Full bar. No pretentiousness. Home Run.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Eclectic.
You walk in and see a dive-y bar, walk through a room of music (that you appeared to have to pay for), to get to the patio which was much more chill.
I remember hearing a lot of rap but it wasn't too loud or overbearing, the band was reggae and they also had a DJ inside.
Lots of beer on tap, not Stella or the Deep Ellum Blonde (once you have it and see they have some DE beer on tap, you just want it). The waitress was quiet and confused our orders, I ended up paying for a beer I didn't order or drink.
We ordered a pizza to share and it was pretty good. Not greasy at all, just right.
And if it's what you're into the girls were sloppy....hard to watch.
Update: Having gone back on a Sunday night I up it a star. So relaxing and low key. Dog friendly patio and a good time. -

Cool neighborhood pub and major bonus points for actually making the spicy bloody mary spicy... if I had a dime for every time I've gotten a pussy BM... not this time, thanks Bryan Street Tavern.
Limited parking, pizza looked damn good and they know how to turn those lights down and people are getting their fade on... I'll be back. -

This is a perfect spot off the beaten path of Mckinney Avenue, Henderson or Cedar Springs. No pretense whatsoever! Great patio and space inside as well to move around and not an uptown douchebag in site! Ask for Beefcake, the bartender- he's pretty awesome.

I was introduced to this local bar recently...my thoughts? I love it. I'm not sure that it's an every Sunday thing, but Paul Slavens (from The Paul Slavens Show on KERA) makes songs up on the fly from audience suggestions (and cash)...probably the most hilarious thing ever. I heard him croon a song called "Dont get drunk, girrrlll.." it made me smile, REAL BIG. The beer is reasonably priced and the pizza is great! Patio is dog friendly, which is super awesome. Overall, good dive(ish) spot to hang out, whether entertaining or just having a relaxing night on the patio.

The thin crust pizza is one of the best ever, and it's perfectly reasonable to come here just for that. The crust is just thin enough and kinda crunchy on the bottom, and it's no surprise that they get their sausage and other ingredients just down the street. Just remember to order the Tavern Favorite, spicy sausage.
Unfortunately, looking forward to the wings advertised as half-price on Wednesday's I have to say I was underwhelmed. Personally I prefer crispy wings and I just couldn't get past the floppy skin. But whoever served our group (we were on the red couches) 2 nights ago did a great job.
There are 2 rings of leather couches and TV's to the left, so if you have a large gathering (like a UYE) this will fit the bill. Just come hungry. -

THE PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1/2 price on Mondays AND $2 wells. Also, Thursday $2 wells. That's all I care about. The jukebox is pretty good and they redid the interior ceilings so it's definitely improving with age. You MUST come here and eat pizza!
FYI: Don't ask for a drink at the bar if you are sitting somewhere with a waitress. They'll tell you to find the waitress. You can, however, ask politely for your waitress at the bar rather than trying to order a drink direct and she'll come take care of you.Listed in: deep discounts - deep ellum…

This bar does a lot of things well. Live music, food, bar games, TVs galore, comfortable furniture, friendly staff. But I will focus on what I know best - pizza and beer. The pizza is St. Louis style. Crispy thin crust, feature the toppings. If you fancy some deep dish nonsense from CHI or some fold over mess with too much cheese from NYC then move along. This is a gourmet pie. A couple of your favorite meats and a couple veggies and you will not be sorry. The toppings strech all the way out to the edge so there is no doughy crust to grab on to. And the slices are cut in squares, they way it should be. Order a pitcher or mug of your favorite IPA to wash it down with. Don't know your beers or want a recommendation? Ask the manager - he knows his stuff in the hops department. They have an incredible selection of beers both on tap and bottled. And the bottles are served ICE COLD. Local Texas brewers, as well as unique brews from far away lands. The whiskey selection is top notch, too.
The bar is under new ownership as of Fall 2011. But the place already had a regular clientele and a good reputation before that. They are putting money into renovations and sprucing it up to make it even better. This place is here to stay.Comment from Waylon Y. of Bryan Street Tavern 2/10/2012

We all know how to have a good time, but people you really count on to deliver are the bartenders; and these guys did not disappoint. They were super tolerant of drunk individuals, Jack in the Box man, basketball players, and cave women (it was Halloween themed night!).
As your pupils adjust to the dimness of Bryan St. Tavern, your feet will carry across the various areas: an outdoor place in the back, a separate room for live bands to play, chairs and tables for standers turned sitters, eating booths, 2 pool tables, some arcade games, and 4 dart boards! Options are good when we're a medley of strangers and adults. Drink specials were decent: Bud was $2, wells and kamikazes were $3, etc.
I tried both the pepperoni and mushroom/peperroni pizzas that they put out, and both were on par, as taverns go.
Last thing I can say is, "Enjoy!" -

What a great Tavern! Our first time here was Sat. Jan 28th for a friend's Birthday. It was an afternoon get together with a party of about 18 people.
I had never been here before and what a cool venu!! Pool Tables- Shuffleboard - Darts- a nice sized bar- a Jukebox With some killer tunes and a large wooden deck with picnic tables. Heaven.
I can not stress how wonderful the staff was. They were so attentive with our drink orders and quick at serving us. I was never without a drink and they were poured strong! What a great bartender! After socializing for a bit - we ended up ordering every pizza on the menu and we all sampled off one another. OH MY GOSH! The Hawaiian pizza and the Pesto Chicken were off the chart. The crusts were perfect - no crappy flavorless crust like most of the boring pizza chains. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I will definately travel back to Bryan Street to partake in that pizza goodness!!Comment from Waylon Y. of Bryan Street Tavern 2/10/2012

They're not reinventing the wheel, or the cotton gin, or the pie slice here for that matter, but Bryan Street Tavern knows who it is, doesn't particularly stray from that, and I've always found a certain degree of that approach refreshing, or at least unsurprising.
This is a laid back joint in the truer sense of the term, and definitely had the feel of a spot that the nearby locals might regularly stop by to roost. They do pizza here, and I was actually pretty impressed by the quality of the slices I managed to put away. Some pretty creative variations on those pies too. I can't say that I'll be back soon since I'm not here that often, but I'd be open to stopping back in.Listed in: Dallas, Pubs Across America

What's not to like about a bar with the best pizza in Dallas? I know it's so hyped with all the places around town which cling to the "We use Jimmy's Food Store for all our pizza products" - but BST falls in this category as well. What makes them unique is that their pizza is better than all the other places that use Jimmy's ingredients. Wings are good but not great and a large salad to share at the table pre-pizza is worth it. If you get the pizza here just once, it's highly likely that you won't order anything else. It's good enough to go just for dinner but this bar is well worth getting drunk and playing pool, throwing darts or making some annoying racket playing the giant Jenga game out in the back.
In fact, the back patio would be ideal without the giant Jenga which has gotten way out of control at local bars. This novelty needs to go. I'm calling on all bars with giant Jenga to bring back the normal sized Jenga before things get any more outrageous! Thank god you can go inside and play the Erotic Photo Hunt video game if giant Jenga gets out of control.
There are a few TVs out in the back with gravel on the ground and picnic tables. You can just catch a glimpse of downtown which looks great at night from the back of this no longer hidden diamond in the rough. Large enough of a patio, inside seating and standing room make BST never seem REALLY crowded. If you're at any table or even sitting outside the wait staff takes good care of you. (knocking on wood right now so that this bar never becomes so overrun that you can't get a table or a drink)Listed in: The Places I Go Out, Pie in the Sky

My friends love this place. Everything about it. The uncomfortable drooping ceiling in parts, the huge pizzas and cheap specials on said pizzas that operate weekly, the laid back neighborhood feel, the lit up outdoor patio with a view of the downtown skyline. I enjoy it a bit myself, I'll admit. Nice, low key, go-to spot for watching a game (I watched the rangers almost win the series here and the place was packed, of course), and for some standard and cheap pizza. A-Ok in my book. I only withhold a 4th star because well, I don't drink beer and I'm not personally a fan of their pizza, so I'm not much of an actual consumer at the place.

Eh...this place is fantastic. If you're wanting a small, local spot to have a great time and enjoy (mostly) great folks, BST is where you need to be (I'm probably more enthusiastic b/c I live down the block!).
As for atmosphere, this place is great. They have essentially 5 (yes 5) different "areas" you could dine, so there's no getting board with your surroundings. And there are TVs everywhere, so you never miss that clutch play. For the really big games they have a GIANT TV in the back that I believe is in HD, which is great. They also have live bands play back there and they're usually great, too (and I've never had to pay to hear them!). Their outdoor seating is so fun. With a wooden privacy fence and TVs back there, and with the skyline in site, it makes for a real close knit and laid back vibe.
Now to the important stuff: food and beverage. Sometimes I get their wells, which aren't bad (for wells), but mostly I'm a beer man. They don't have a great selection on tap, though they've always kept an IPA on tap which is very welcome. Franconia Dunkel is also on tap, and this is a quality beer. I've heard their beers are flat much of the time, but I've never had this problem.
PIZZA. Yes, P I Z Z A. Come to Bryan Street Tavern and eat their pizza. I have never gone wrong. Yes, pretty much all of their food is quite tasty, but their pizza is what puts them on the map. While apparently using fresh ingredients from Jimmy's down the street (according to a fellow yelper), the pizza is clean, not too greasy and leaves you feeling full, but not like crap.
Service is sometimes good sometimes not so much. There are few waitresses that are just amazing, and always treat us great. But then there is the occasional person I don't recognize and things aren't as great. So, technically, BST shouldn't merit 5 stars, but because it's all around great and service is mostly good...5 stars it is.
I'll see you there! -

If I could rate this place solely on their pizza, I would give it five mofo stars but we don't live a perfect world and I am sure people in Hell want Ice Water.
Their food is excellent. Not just for a bar, but damn good food. I love their fried mozzarella doo-dads, their cold antipasto platter and their PIZZA. Made with all fresh ingredients from Jimmy's Food Store down the street it is a loaded with toppings and cooked to crisp perfection. Not too greasy, Not too dry, Just right. I am the goldilocks of pizza.
Then there is the service (womp, womp). I am not sure if it is the same for everyone, because I do realize it is a neighborhood joint with regulars but it is definitely hit or miss. At times the waitresses are very apathetic with a battitude and at other times they have angel wings (well maybe tattooed ones on their shoulder blades), but angel wings nonetheless!
I do, however, enjoy their patio. Very open and easy and dog friendly to boot! With T.V.'s, shuffleboard and darts this place seems to have it all except when you go outside and fear for your death by shank point. But that is what makes it even more special! -

This is a great tavern--one of those places where you squint when you come in the door to allow your eyes to adjust to the dim lighting inside. It feels like it's been there, just the same way, for 50 years. Lots of TVs to watch the game, including a projection screen in a back room. There was a great crowd last night to watch the Mavs. Despite how crazy busy it was, our waitress was very attentive. I was impressed. I will definitely be back to check out the patio (which several of the smokers in our group said was fantastic).
Most of the other reviewers rave about the pizza. I just don't get it. I thought the pizza was fine -- helped soak up all that Fireman's #4-- but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. Maybe if I'd had more beer or several of their reportedly stiff drinks, I would have been more impressed? -

My first time here was for a Vinyl Preservation Society meeting, and I have been coming back ever since. I like the variety of places to sit here, and they have a pretty neat patio out back with a nice view of Downtown.
The place and its staff are pretty laid-back, and helpful when it comes to choosing a menu selection. I have had a few things here, and the standouts are the fried mushrooms (yum!) and of course, the pizza. (YUM!)
As far as thin crust pizzas go, this place is great! I'd much rather go here than say, Eno's, and the price is much better! Their meats are obtained from Jimmy's Italian Market down the street...a major plus. :) It's definitely a must-try if you visit this place. The drinks, as one previous reviewer stated, are strong indeed! One could certainly get a nice buzz after a couple here! -

This is my kind of bar!
It's hard to find a good bar, let alone a good bar with great food. Bryan Street Tavern is all that a bag of chips! Not only can you get great drinks, that are mixed well and served quick, the pizza is AWESOME!
As you get out of your car in the parking lot, you can smell the pizza and it makes you hungry. Trust me, have some! Your mouth will love you for it! Several friends shared 4 pizzas, it was pretty quiet for the next 15 mins as we could not stop eating!
When you first walk in it's a pretty typical bar. Nothing fancy, but with plenty of space to walk around. One side has tables and standing area, the other side has a section to play darts, shuffle board, and pool. There is a back room with stage and if you go a little farther you come into the patio. The patio is pretty cool, with the huge 2X4 sized Jenga blocks on wood picnic tables. You can see downtown if you look over the steel fence, not a great view but hopefully you will have enough people watching not to care.
Net Net: A cool place to hang out, have some drinks and pizza too.

Tucked behind a parking lot on a dimly lit street near Deep Ellum is one of Dallas's local hot spots, Bryan Street Tavern. This bar has everything you could want out of a bar; drinks, food, and good service, a couple pool tables, dart boards, shuffleboard, arcade games, a cigarette vending machine, plenty of space with couches, tables, booths, and stools, separate rooms for private parties (one room has a stage fit for a small band), and a large back patio area with giant jenga and washers (a Southern game that involves tossing washers into sand). At Bryan Street, you are always sure to run into someone you know from around town. It has a neighborhood-bar attitude even though it is large enough to be a Dallas hot spot and a local's favorite.
Have I mentioned the PIZZA? The kitchen at Bryan Street Tavern is open until midnight every night so you can order their pizza or other menu items and cure your craving. The pizza is tasty too, so do not be weary of "bar pizza"--this slice (square, actually) will not disappoint.
Over all, I highly recommend giving Bryan Street Tavern a try because of its authentic and genuine Dallas flavor. Don't forget to tip your waiter! -

This bar is awesome. I believe its secluded location has its benefits. It doesn't attract the delinquent bar hoppers seen on lower Greenville nor the arrogant wannabes you see at clubs like Wish or Plush. Don't get me wrong I enjoy getting dolled up and hitting up 'elite' nightclubs every now and then, (for the sake of dancing, my only form of exercise) but BST is an escape from all that.
Perfect for the locals (I live 5 min away) and groups of friends. I love the options you have to entertain yourself! SHUFFLEBOARD, POOL, AND DARTS, OH MY! With the occasional DJ and/or live music, the oversized Jenga set outside, and the yummy pizza you're sure to have a good time amongst good company in a GREAT laid-back atmosphere! -

I have to update my review after going back to Bryan Street Tavern this weekend. I scheduled a 30th birthday for one of my boys via email. The person that was emailing me reserved the lounge room to the left when you first walk in the door. This room has couches and plush chairs as well as a flat screen TV so you can watch whatever game is on if you want and board games to play.
We got there Saturday night and I told the employees that I was there for the room. The only thing I would say is that the room was not marked "reserved" in any way and there were a couple of people sitting there watching TV already. No biggie, but what if it was packed already? Are they gonna kick out the room poachers? Speaking of that - another group came in and were talking to the employees and telling them that they thought they had the room that we were located in. Double book or mistake? I don't know - possession is law, especially in the bar world, and we were already there. BUT after seeing that I would definitely want to double check on the room before showing up next time.
Anyway, we set up and talked to our waitress and she helped me order up some pizza. Ooooh I really should have tried this pizza previously! I got the pepperoni (yum), margherita (yum), and sausage with Jimmy's spicy sausage! Oooooh the spicy sausage! Everyone was raving about that pizza - I definitely want to see more of Jimmy's sausage! It is so spicy, so meaty, so delicious! I don't know if I can ever let any other sausage touch my lips (sorry BF).
Service was great! Our waitress took care of the entire room full of party goers with no delays and no beat down attitude. One lil girl for 30ish people didn't seem like enough, but she was goooood.
Overall I highly recommend having a private party here, just call and confirm that your room is reserved beforehand just in case!Listed in: Places with Private Party…

Bryan Street Tavern is a really great neighborhood bar that isn't trying to be anything but a really great neighborhood bar. They have a few beers on tap, but not enough to qualify them as a beer house, and some pretty awesome food. There are enough TVs around to watch a little sports but they don't dominate the space and make you feel like you're in a sports bar. The staff is laid back and friendly, as is the clientèle.
I prefer to go during the week so I can take advantage of their weeknight specials. My favorite is Tuesday, where you can get a pitcher of Bud Light and a 16" pizza with 2 toppings for $16. Get the spicy sausage (from Jimmy's, no less) with mushrooms. It'll help compensate for the fact that you're drinking draft Bud Light.Listed in: Got booze?, Happy Hours That Make Me…, OId East Dallas

Came here for the first time over the weekend for a friend's birthday party and was pleasantly surprised! Really great atmosphere - dark and cozy without feeling too much like a cave... this is definitely going to be a nice place to hide out when the weather turns colder. And there's a HUGE backyard with lots of picnic tables and Christmas lights... kind of like a cleaner, newer, smaller Lee Harvey's yard without the dogs or fire-pits. You still with me??
Anyway, the drinks were great, the service was friendly and although we didn't get a chance to try one - I saw a few pizzas pass by and they looked pretty amazing!!
Here's my only beef with the place: When we first strolled in around 10:00-ish, the place had a nice crowd, but wasn't packed. There was a nice variety of people and everyone seemed pretty chill and laid back. We spent most of our evening outside, so I was a little shocked when I walked in to get a drink about an hour later to find what looked like an SMU fraternity mixer. Seriously. Isn't this place a little off the beaten path to be an SMU bar?? Hmmm...
The verdict (in my opinion) is that this will be a great weeknight or weekend DAY bar, but I don't think we'll be making many more Friday or Saturday night appearances. We'll be back soon to try that pizza though... yum! -

What has happened to one of my favorite bars? The new management has decided that an edgier, more aggressive feel is what the place needed, and they've replaced the chill, relaxed dive feel with a more antagonistic, strident ambiance. Was that overly loud Nickelback drowning out my conversations? I think so. The waitress, who was dressed in black like all the other waitresses (new dress code, I guess) was not at all friendly. The guy behind the bar, who looked like he might be part of this new management arrangement, looks like a Bob Seger roadie--salt-and-pepper beard and an unbuttoned Chinese-motifed shirt. It's like a wanna-be biker/roadhouse/"cool" bar now. I'm not sure, I just want my old bar back.
The food is still decent, at least.

We went to Bryan Street Tavern last week because my man was playing there. The building looks small from the outside, but seems to keep going and going once you go inside. They have a big main room with pool and shuffleboard to the right, then there is the live music room behind, and then a pretty big outdoor patio with a decent view of downtown. It is in a building that used to be a Thai restaurant years ago, but they must have added on some, because I remember that place being small.
Bryan Street (I won't call it BS) has a decent selection of beer on tap and in the bottle. Their menu is mostly salads and pizza. We didn't try the salads, although the waitress recommended and we will probably try on the next trip. That pizza is incredible! It is thin crust with many topping choices. We tried the steak pizza, the pepporoni/spicy Jimmy's sausage (from Jimmy's Food Store!), and a chicken pesto. I was pumped for the steak pizza, but the others blew it out of the water. This might be my favorite pizza in town. It has definitely surpassed Louie's and maybe even Grimaldi's for me.
From a live music perspective, it's a decent place. The room is pretty small (smaller than Double Wide), so it gets loud. They have pillows stapled to the wall that they are using for cheap sound insulation. The sound guy told us to bring more pillows. I find this hilarious, so I just might.
My only complaint is slow service. When we first got there, business was fairly slow, and our waitress was friendly and super accommodating. However, once it got busy, it seemed nearly impossible to get a drink, even at the bar. This is not the fault of the waitstaff/barstaff, as they are human and can only do so much. However, management might need to hire some folks to come in and help with the rush. The $2.14 an hour required to get an extra person will more than pay for itself with all the extra beer they will sell.
We will definitely be back to Bryan Street, possibly weekly. Cheers!Listed in: Why I love Dallas

My friend wanted to go eat pizza for her birthday and did some searching around for places on Yelp and wanted to try Bryan Street Tavern.
She picked a winner winner pizza dinner!
I really dig the atmosphere and pizza. Oh and the fact that there is parking.
If you like dark bars and darn good food, try this place out see whatcha think.
I will definitely be hitting this place up for happy hour/a night of drinking. -

Somehow I happen to have a Dad that's cooler than me. Or, OK, fine, fine *blush* maybe the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. *brushing my shoulders off*.
Anyhow, last Sunday when my dear father and mother decided to make a trek from north of 635 to downtizzle to visit their dear daughter, I decided to take them to Bryan Street Tavern, which is precisely my dad's type of place. Note: He is also the one who introduced me to Angry Dog and enjoys himself some St. Pete's Dancing Marlin. So I figured Bryan Street Tavern and the infamous pizza (which he also happens to enjoy) would be a good choice.
I knew we were off to a good start when he asked me if I had a beer in my fridge for him. The answer: "No, but let's head to Bryan Street Tavern which has happy hour all day Sunday, and also half price appetizers!" - Sold.
Settled into the dark, almost empty front room. Side note: I had walked into this place one Friday night and walked back out. It was just too crowded and almost mildewy for me. I knew the only reason I felt this way is because I was looking for a more "chic" evening that night, so I felt it was fair to give it another shot on a lazy Sunday.
There was one bartender working on Sunday, which we later learned also had closed the two previous nights. She was cool, but clearly tired. No matter, that Sunday shift must be brutal after a weekend of closing. We got our round of adult beverages (happy hour prices!) and went in for the appetizer kill with the antipasti platter and the caprese salad. Both of these were huge, and not skimpy at all. The mozzarella on both dishes was fresh. Not sure if it's from Jimmy's Food Store, but if so - then I'm hard pressed to see what makes this place different from Bolsa other than the prices and atmosphere.
The pizza I'd heard about. Finally, we tried it. We got the 16'' works. (Note: This was WAY too much food - the pizza had to be boxed up after a slice each). The crust was crispy lavash style. I had previously asked Angie P. (the person who raved about these pizzas to me) what made it so good. She thought it was the crust, so I was already prepared. What I wasn't prepared for was the raw onion and green pepper on the pizza. This was AWESOME. The crunch, textural difference, and more "juicy" flavor of the toppings was what made the pizza, in my opinion.
Anyway, Sundays also has free pool, but I've temporarily quit smelling blood, so we went home instead. :)
Good times. -

My kinda place. It's casual with lots of seating and games to play.
I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza. However, I am bias because it was free. The Vue apartments had a party with draft beer and pizza. It was a cool place to have a happy hour event.
My favorite part was the shuffleboard table. There are also a couple dart boards and two pool tables.
There are different areas in this place that make it adaptable.
-Lounge chair/sofa with coffee tables and BOARD GAMES!
-Lengthy Bar
-Booth and Table seating for eating yummy pizza
-Billiard Game area
There is also more square footage in the back, which I never made it to. Apparently, there were three bands playing that night, and it was a Friday. The front area is separate from that so I never saw the bands.
This place would be amazing with a larger beer selection and Cranium or Scategories.Listed in: Favorite Places in DFW

For a downtown local, this is the place to hang out at. Great people work here and they always have great drink specials with fantastic pizza.
I don't really think there is anything bad I can say about Bryan St. Tavern. Their patio is amazing with a beautiful view of the city. They also have pool tables, Big Buck Hunter, amazing LCD TV's to watch sports, a great (some what silly) jukebox of songs. Also, in June they are planning a huge party and will have a new section open for live shows. The stage room is looking fantastic and I hear they have tons of plans on making the stage room open up to the patio.
If you go, make sure you say hello to Janne (the smallest girl you'll see behind a bar) or Sean (the man with killer facial hair). They are the bartenders there and are always welcoming everyone with a smile.Listed in: Best Happy Hour

I've been meaning to write a quick review of this place for a long time, since I'm a frequent guest. There are many different types of pizza and I will say... if you are craving a really thin crispy crust pizza with great toppings, you can't go wrong here.
I'm not giving BST five stars just for the pizza, but the atmosphere as well. It's just one of those places that the minute you walk in you feel comfortable. It always seems no matter the type of people, everyone is very nice and laid back.
Just a wonderful place all-around. -

This place is great for having an easy drink with friends.. the staff is insanely friendly and the food is really good. Definitely not your typical "bar food". A stated by others.. the pizza is the shizzle. (the fried mushrooms are pretty dayum good too..)
I love how you can find your own little corner to hang out and feel a bit separated from the rest of the bar.. or be right in the middle of everything.. depending on your mood. The patio has a downtown view and a sort of Austin feel to it.
On the negative side.. watching a football game here is frustrating since there is no audio and the juke box music is soooo loud... especially in the "lounge room".
But for good brew and food.. you can't beat it. -

So it's Christmas Eve and there is a mini Blizzard going through Dallas (okay blizzard by Dallas standards) and there is no food in my house so we braved the weather to go try Bryan Street Tavern since it is close to me and having read some of the reviews.
We started with some Fried Mushrooms which were good but nothing really special... and then we had the Pizza, we went with the house signature pie, The Tavern Favorite: Pepperoni, Spicy Italian Sausage from Jimmy Food Store down the road, mushrooms and grilled onions. Honestly one of the best pizzas I have had in Dallas. Really Freaking Good!
The crust was thin (not Louie's thin though) and crisp, good sauce, and the combination of the fresh toppings was superb. I had gotten into a pizza rut recently and am happy to have a new place to throw into the rotation. I will certainly be back for more pizza and cold Stella's.
The bar itself was not crowded due to the weather and it being Christmas Eve so I cannot really comment on the atmosphere but the service was good and friendly.
