ON
bruce mackey park is like your cousin or brother who sits at the family dinner table and doesnt say a word most of the time but hes always present.
bordering wardell street on the east side lies bruce mackey park, though if you catch it from dundas street it looks like it it peters off just beyond the first few houses that represent the street on the west side.
now if you walk a block further west and head south on degrassi street youll be suprised to see that wardell and degrassi meet up and in turn does bruce mackey end up on degrassi. so the park functions like some kind of puzzle piece bordering the fringe of a neighbourhood.
this is further enhanced by the fact that on the east side of the park runs a train track. this is the most exciting thing about the park itself as its not one geared towards the kiddies. there are no swings or playground. it is simply for those of us who value the moments of doing nothing, on a bench, in the midst of nothing and perhaps for awhile, seeing nothing. peace.
one might also be interested in taking their dog for a run in the southern part of the park which meets up with degrassi street.
either way this is a fine park that seems to be for passersby on dundas and locals who live in the hood.
