Review from Rob P.
This is amongst my favorite hotels. Great rooms, a HUGE fitness area, multiple pools and good food. If they just saw fit to quit raking you over the coals with expensive daily internet fees, I would not hesitate to recommend the Brookstreet and I would bump it to five stars. Come on. Charge for wireless if you must, but the in-room jack is a utility these days, like electricity or a phone.
The hotel is a bit off the beaten path, so it works best for those with their own transportation, but it's worth the extra miles/kilometers.Comment from Caroline S. of Brookstreet Hotel 1/12/2012

Review from Loubna B.
Came here on business. The hotel is in the middle of an industrial park and there is no commerce within walking distance so you MUST use the restaurant in the hotel. Unfortunately the sushi bar closed earlier than the posted time, and the recommended tom ka gai soup is no longer on the menu. The rooms are nice.

We stumbled upon a deal and decided to live it up hotel-styles rather than staying with family this time. Beautiful, modern hotel with great pool facilities. Our room was very spacious. Even the bathroom was a good size. The only concept I didn't quite understand was the window from the bathroom looking into the bedroom. Am I missing something? Thank goodness there were blinds.

I frequent Ottawa regularly and stay at Brookstreet Hotel for a variety or reasons, and usually end up eating in the bar as I continue to work. Tom ka gai soup is one of the reasons I stay here. A coconut broth base with pulled chicken, seafood and straw mushrooms - excellent, delicious appetizer, ranks up there with one of the best soups I have had, and I make a killer soup myself - recipe on demand. I strongly recommend having the kitchen prepare a hot sauce to enhance the flavor (sorry but Tabasco is a sorry option) - it is a hot chili concoction that combines heat with flavour. Another appetizer in the bar is poutine which is death by cholesterol overload, but oh so good! Traditional poutine is French fries topped with gravy and cheese curds, often characterized as a heart attack to go. The poutine here is vanilla poached French fries, topped with pulled duck confit and cheddar curds. The fish and chips are average, pizza average, sushi doesn't cut it, but the duck from the restaurant(as opposed to the bar menu) is great, rare, no fat, the sauce is a reduction sauce that is killer.
