Are you a movie fan? Well I am. I play them in the background when I do most things. Brooklyn Warehouse is to Halifax what the Return of The Jedi is to the Starwars Trilogy* and Annie Hall is to Woody Allen's entire output. It is the X-Men (1 and 2) when compared to X-men Origins: Wolverine.

I've been here for lunch & dinner and every time have thoroughly enjoyed it. A particular favourite is the cesar salad. The restaurant has a pretty diverse menu, the standards are all there though (burgers/salads etc) and all are super above standard (please see above movie reference). Have also attended a couple of the set menu nights (NYE x 2) and the menu and cocktail pairing was amaze.

Consider Brooklyn Warehouse great for a delish night out or easy lunch. PLUS, they soon will have an all weather patio. Hello Summer!!(And spring, winter and fall).

*They have a Boba Fett head on their coat stand. Very funny.

I liked the food, but it was too expensive for me. Me and my SO each got the 3 meal deal on Tuesday. It was my birthday and thought it would be nice to eat somewhere nice.  We had to wait about 20 minutes for a seat, but we didn't mind waiting since there are some cool figurines and toys to look at.

First had a chicken salad (sorry, I don't know what the names of the meals are) and it was good. Then we had pita bread with spreads. The olive one was disgusting. Then we each got the Brooklyn Burger with taters. It was really good. Once we got the bill, I freaked out, because I realized I'm pretty cheap and won't eat here again.

This is, so far, my favorite restaurant in the Halifax area, hands down.

It's not very often that I go to a restaurant and order the pork, let alone a pork chop. HOWEVER - I do not regret it at all, the pork chop at Brooklyn Warehouse came with the most delicious risotto and roasted vegetables, and the meat was cooked to perfection, caramelized perfectly and served piping hot with a yummy pan sauce. I think I've actually had it twice now!

One thing I do like is that they have something on the menu for everyone - veggie, pork, chicken, fish, a red meat (lamb, beef), and a burger which I hear is pretty well acclaimed! Fulton Fish Dish is another stunner.

I'm usually too full to order the dessert, because of the delicious appetizers and spirits on the menu, as well as the generous portions. I'll keep going back, they continually tweak their dishes each time I come back, but it's always exciting to see what new items they come up with, truly delicious!

The Brooklyn Warehouse currently ranks as my favorite restaurant in Halifax. They do an incredible job at offering a consistent, holistic dinning experience. By that I mean every element harmonized together to form an extremely positive evening. The atmosphere is colorful and hip, with drops of geek and nerd culture hiding in plain sight against books and old containers. The decor is a playful balance of wood and metal, with soft lighting (both electric and candle). The music is a brilliant playlist crafted over several years featuring everything from hip-hop to indie rock to chill, ambient jams. I suspect their chef may actually be a wizard because I can't remember the last time I felt magic when eating my food. I had the Brooklyn Burger, which may very well be the best burger I've had to date. The seasonings balanced so well with the old cheddar and back bacon. I shared a dessert that housed three different kinds of chocolate. Even the water - provided in reused, chilled wine bottles - tasted amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during our evening. I don't know how else to praise this place!

One of my favourite restaurants. The atmosphere and staff are always warm and welcoming. The menu is innovative and well thought out. They buy local products, have nights with fixed price menus and $1 corkage fees. But the flavour is what keeps me coming back.

I imagine the head chef is (like me) a serious lover of all things swine. Pork, in one shape or form, shows up on a lot of the menu items. The root beer brined pork chop in vanilla whiskey drizzle with bacon-cider risotto is one of the best things I've ever eaten. It's not a wonder that they continuously top the charts in various people's choice awards.

This place is definitely one of my favs in the city. I just love everything about it - the location (it's around the corner from my apartment, can't beat that! Plus they have a great patio), the ambience (warm and artsy, upscale but not stuffy, like a cafe with a fine dining twist), the food (they use a lot of local ingredients - the owner and chef are a big part of the "slow food movement" - the menu is usually small, but they rotate it often, keeping a few of the popular staples), good selection of drinks, the service is always really friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality of food.

If you like burgers and have yet to try the Brooklyn Burger - you need to get your butt to this place YESTERDAY!

After an initial ho-hum experience, I haven't been to Brooklyn Warehouse for two years.  I really want to like this place, as other reviewers have said, the atmosphere is great and the waitstaff are nice.  But the food is just badly-done.

We went in for lunch today, and the only vegetarian sandwich was the roasted vegetable.  Roasted vegetable?!  I don't care what is in there, no one likes roasted vegetable sandwiches, especially not vegetarians who are stuck with them at every catered lunch.  I was really excited to see a veggie pho on the mains side of the menu, and since I love pho, I decided to hope, and I ordered it.  Big mistake.  Under-cooked noodles, black-pepper flavored broth, bottled pickled ginger on top.  For $14 they don't even pickle their own ginger!  In no place but Halifax could this even be presented as pho.

I'm glad they're trying.  We always think about heading over here, and maybe we will again in a couple of years.

I thought the menu at this place was awesome! It was as if someone took all of my favorite foods and put them all on one creative gastro-pub menu.

I got the rabbit 3 ways, which was absolutely lovely. The mushroom mashed potatoes were amazing!

My husband got the stuffed peppers because it was so highly recommended. He is lactose intolerant, and the restaurant is incredibly accommodating to dietary restrictions, so he requested it without yogurt. The waitress told him that the yogurt helped to cool down some of the heat from the peppers, but obliged and gave him the meal without the yogurt. HUGE mistake! My husband ended up going hungry that night. I took one bite of the filling and couldn't feel my mouth for about a half hour. My husband finally requested the yogurt, which he more or less drank to take the pain away.

I must note, my husband and I are from Southern California and have plenty of spicy Central/South American foods, Indian foods, and random spicy Asian foods. I wouldn't say I'm super tolerant to spicy heat, but one bite of this dish was like torture. I could see this dish being served to people in prison as a cruel and unusual form of punishment. But, that was without the yogurt, perhaps the yogurt makes all the difference.

Moral of the story: DO NOT GET STUFFED PEPPERS WITHOUT YOGURT!

I was a bit disappointed that the waitress did not mention that the peppers would literally be inedible without the yogurt, but I suppose she may have a very high pain tolerance. I will not blame her, since she did warn us that it would be spicy without the yogurt, but I think a more severe warning was warranted.

Decor was nice, intimate and casual. Beer was very good.

Brooklyn Warehouse is one of those restaurants I never seem to get to often enough ... so many things on the menu I want to try, that I'm pretty sure I won't work my way through them before the add more new offerings to the menu.

I've been in for brunch and lunch and never had a bad meal.  The menu is definitely meat-intensive and runs the gamut from legendary burgers to rabbit.  But they have some solid vegetarian options as well.  Pricing is also extremely reasonable for the quality of food.

It's located in a great neighbourhood (I'm a bit biased here,  as I used to live in the area) where the north end and the west end meet.  The atmosphere and decor are funky and fresh, and the service is typically fast and friendly.

Why didn't I give them five stars?  Because it breaks my gastronomic heart that they had one of the best brunches in the city (the Eggs Dante were to die for) and they stopped serving brunch.

I'm about to fill you in on the best vegetarian main dish to be found in the city. Are you ready? You're so not ready. Okay fine. You're ready:

The Brooklyn Warehouse's stuffed peppers dinner is without a doubt the best vegetarian main course I've experienced in Halifax to date.

    Check it:

"Two roasted poblano chilies stuffed with rice, zucchini, onion, jalapenos, fresh tomato, cilantro and cumin, all topped with Balkan yogurt served on a bed of white bean purée with Speerville corn bread."

Not only my favourite vegetarian dish, but also probably the only time in my life that the carb wasn't my favourite part of the meal. That may not ever happen again but trust that in this case, it wasn't that there was anything WRONG with the corn bread...it just didn't stand a chance compared to the rest.

First of all, the white bean purée is scrape, lick and press your face lovingly up against the plate levels of ridonk. Second, the flavours of the stuffed peppers themselves are all over the place but in the greatest of ways. Some bites had some kick, others were nice and cooling, others had punches of individual tastes, all were so good they almost made me uncomfortable.

Sure, it was a busy night and servers seemed to be spread a little too thin. Sure, it was too loud to really catch up with my family that I had brought in for that specific purpose. But if you think either of those things detracted from my night?

Well, then you really need to try those stuffed peppers.

I don't much like giving bad reviews. With all the fibre of my being, I wanted to like this place. They favour fresh, local ingredients, have a good vibe about them, and it's located pretty close to my house. But I just couldn't.

I checked them out years ago and they had nothing for me as a vegan, so I just had chamomile tea. This time, I opted for the Carbonara (a boring angelhair pasta dish with some vegetables and smoked tofu--that was overpowered by the portobello mushrooms-- and a few vegetables and some ho-hum balsamic reduction completely hidden under the food that I didn't notice until halfway through). Actually, I didn't opt for this dish, as it was the only vegan menu item (other than soup-- but who the hell wants soup for a summer supper?) available. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't exciting. It was bland... and for $18? I could have honestly made this better at home, and I would've made it more thrilling too!  My dining partner enjoyed his burger, which I was glad to hear. And we definitely enjoyed being able to order a glass of Bulleit Bourbon-- the underdog but truly the best bourbon you can have (move over Maker's Mark!)-- at this restaurant. That was a plus. Other than that: I found Brooklyn Warehouse to be: whatever, meh, comme ci comme ca.

I hereby give this restaurant the Most Disappointing Dining Experience Based on Hype and Hearsay Award.

I never really knew what the term "gastropub" meant before I went finally to the Brooklyn Warehouse.  Our first trip there was sort of funny.  We set out from Clayton Park intending to go use an E-PIN Groupon downtown, but then, my wife decided what she really, really wanted was a burger.  So, change of plans, off to Darrell's.  Lo and behold, traffic was awful, we were getting hungry, and I remembered all sorts of rave reviews about the Brooklyn Warehouse, and their burger in particular.

So, we changed course and headed there.

    No disappointment, it was excellent.

The Brooklyn Warehouse is a great little place, comfortable but not pretentious, with a great menu, lots of choices but not so many as to be overwhelming, and just great, friendly service.  They take a great interest in promoting local products, too, and that's something I'm getting more and more interested in of late.

A second visit for lunch with some of my coworkers (this time to have their awesome "Three Little Pigs" sandwich) verified that I didn't just get lucky, but it was really overall a great place.  I'm a fan, and I'll be back for sure.

Finally, I was able to dine at the Brooklyn Warehouse! The bf and I went in for dinner last night. We ate light and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We each had the vegan soup special , it was a cold soup that I cannot remember what was in it, but it was delicious. We each had a salad for our mains, the bf had the warm mushroom salad and I had the smoked chicken salad. I must say that the chicken was amazing; tender, juicy and full of flavor.

Service was great, the decor was wonderful and the overall ambience was great. I really, really loved the water in the wine bottles, such a neat touch.

I cannot wait to return and try all of the yummy menu items.

The beer and wine selection is also pretty extensive, gotta love options!!

Brooklyn Warehouse is a cozy little neighbourhood spot. And by cozy, I do mean little, so come early or expect to wait at the door.

The kitchen is as tiny as the restaurant, so there's a small, focussed menu - but there should be something there for everyone. Some of the menu titles are a little whimsical, so be sure to read the descriptions.

Don't hesitate to ask questions of the servers, they're on the whole super-friendly and know their stuff about both the food and drink menus.

Brooklyn has a number of local beers on tap and a wider selection of curiosities in bottles - one of the few places to carry Blanche de Chambly and Dieu du Ciel beers. They also have a short list of wines, starring Nova Scotia whites and hand-picked reds.

On a recent visit I tried the 'Spaghetti and Meatballs' which is actually parpadelle in a delicious tomato sauce, topped with feta-stuffed lamb meatballs. Absolutely delicious.

Tablemates were equally impressed with the pork chop and the steak, though the 'carbonara', which, being vegan, contains no actual components of a carbonara, was not as well received. (As I said, read the menu!)

I got the mushroom salad as well, as I was sharing with a toddler, and was a little surprised to find it spinach-based as the menu reads as though you're mostly going to see fungi. Still, it was very tasty.

The portions are ample, and you'll certainly not walk away hungry.

How can I express my love of Brooklyn Warehouse? Hypothetically, let's say I'd divorce brownie husband and leave our chocolate chip kids behind if I could marry the menu.

My fave dish so far has to be the rabbit: Braised rabbit's leg and a loin stuffed with ham hock, served with mushroom smash & roast carrots ($20). I have no idea what the chef does to the smash but it's sweet and buttery taste bud nirvana.

After wanting to eat here literally since this joint opened, it finally happened today! Showed up around 12:30 for some lunch. We snagged a seat on the patio (ok, we had the pick of the patio, there was nobody else out there). Our server was really great, no complaints there!

The food though? I dunno. I wasn't overwhelmed. I got the BLT which admittedly for a recently off the wagon vegetarian was a lot of meat. The bread, tomatoes, arugula and spicy mayo were quite delicious. The potato wedges that were an extra charge to add to the sammy? Not so much.

My friend got the pho was was equally underwhelmed (she's a bit of a regular)

Overall, I really really wanted to love this spot. I dig the neighbourhood vibe and the service, as I said, was amazing. I don't know if I was expecting more because of all the hype, but it just didn't really grab me.

Brooklyn Warehouse would be a splurge place for me to eat out, as I'm on a limited budget lifestyle, but we always come away happy with everything here, even for the price we play. It offers an appeal to most with a few classics and less classics and an emphasis on local products. The atmosphere is very casual and welcoming with no issues. If you are craving a down greasy dripping burger, this isn't your place, but if you are craving a nice, large, delicious classy burger, you really will no be disappointed. No hesitations why it has had gotten excellent reviews for anything we've ordered here.

I would have taken anything caffeinated, so imagine my surprise when the americano I had was not only full of wake-me-up but tasted amazing!

This place has an almost old feeling to it... like it's been stationed at this corner for decades. But from what I've been told, it's actually on the newer side. Back in the outlet-plentiful corner, Ben B and I tucked into our lunches. The bread of my BLT was brilliant. What can I say? I'm a stickler for soft, sweet bread with a thick but flaky crust. And I haven't even got to the bacon or the spicy chicken yet! Delish! Add a soup or salad to the mix and it does make a perfect lunch. The day I was there, a curry lentil was the soup de jour. Yum!

I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse - but it was the toughest decision picking between the burger, the hangover pasta an the BLT... not to mention the many salads and wraps. Based on my first impression and meal at Brooklyn Warehouse, I can only imagine that this place rocks all day long.

    Three words: Warm Mushroom Salad.

I love a lot of the food at the Warehouse, but this salad is salad heaven. Sure, mushrooms appeal to less than large set of the population, but I encourage you get this on your next visit. You will NOT be disappointed.

Outside of my love for this salad, is my love for the burger, my love for the lunch menu and my love for the lovely servers. I have a lot of love for this small, intimate local resto that's conveniently just steps from my house.

Go because it's a lovely local spot that really cares about the food they serve. It's small, so a wait for a table might always be required, but trust me, it's worth it.

I came here in February during a visit with my parents who had recently made the move from the west coast to the east. We were looking for something relaxed, but good on a cold Halifax night, and this gastro-pub was exactly what we were looking for. The (excellent) staff announced right away that they were out of the beef short ribs which left me scrambling for a second choice so I went for the root beer brined grilled pork chop and was not let down - succulent and flavourful on a bed of risotto. Excellent choices of local beer plus a small but well-rounded wine list. We had gotten there at 9 pm, which constitutes 'late' in many Halifax eateries, but this place was still packed, a testimony to their popularity.

I'll definitely be back when I'm in Halifax again!

What's shakin'? My lady and I were looking for a fine place for a date, and we sure did find one.

The menu is a little scary for people in their 20's because it's around 17 big dollars for a burger, but holy smokes.. When it arrived I wanted to take a picture of it. The cheese and onions looked like fine art, but when I bit into it I swear I heard Celine Dion singing her "Titanic" hit. It was delicious, and the meat was grade A-- whatever that means. But it tastes like REAL fresh meat.

The beer list wasn't as complex as I'd hope for a gastropub but they do have some; dark & light, and yes, they were locally brewed which is great. The wine availability again was limited, but for a supper date it gets the job done.

    Check it out.

The Brooklyn Warehouse is the Fresh Prince when he used to wear his private school jacket inside-out: Urban, super trendy without trying too hard, and contagiously adventurous.

The food is savoury (and the renowned burger IS as good as advertised)
but I would like to see more share-able appetizers on the menu. The prices almost spill into the expensive realm, but you'll never leave feeling ripped off. Especially if you catch one of their nights where you can bring a local wine bottle for only a $1 cork fee.

Oh, and the Wasabi Cesar is a MUST-TRY!!

One of my favourite restos in the city. The food is gastro-cafe comfort food - using locally sourced products. The atmosphere is casual and relaxing, but you still get the feel of a fine dining experience, thanks to great staff.
And it's about time a resto in this city make a proper espresso.

Belated Birthday Lunch at Brooklyn Warehouse
    (via http://www.halifood.com)

    Written Feb. 2, 2010

This past Friday I was treated to lunch by a great friend of mine at The Brooklyn Warehouse, marking my first visit to the much talked about establishment. We walked into the noisy and crowded dining room and were lucky enough to land a window seat right away. When I say noisy and crowded I mean it in the best way possible - this place was absolutely packed to the gills with enthusiastic diners having upbeat and energetic conversations. I was happy to be there. I am not sure if it was the combination of happy Friday diners, laid-back and pleasant servers, the unique sleek-and-trendy yet artsy-and-retro interior, and my fantastic company but there was definitely something going on in The Brooklyn Warehouse that worked for me.

Not to even mention the menu. I thoroughly enjoy this lunch menu; its fresh, its local, its creative, its simple and its diverse, its old and its new - all at the same time. It is anything but boring. This menu really is not very extensive yet there seems to be something for everyone - including something creative and well thought out for vegans and vegetarians too, which is great to see.

We kept things simple, being on a lunch hour time constraint and all, and simply went with a glass of one of their house reds each (William Cole Pinot Noir, Chile) and straight to our mains. (Note: Nice touch having the drink lists waiting at each place setting for when patrons sit down. I have to comment on smart selling moves when I see them). My lovely lunch date went for the classic and irresistible sounding Mac & Cheese made with extra old PEI cheddar, elbow macaroni, breadcrumb-Parmesan and a side of Sweet William's sausage and roasted tomato vinaigrette. She only allowed me one bite (not that I blame her) so I don't have extensive notes, however, I think it was the extra old PEI cheddar that did it - that one bite was deliciously creamy, rich and delicious.

My choice was the very interesting and totally tradition-insulting Carbonara. This particular "Carbonara" is one of The Brooklyn Warehouse's vegan options. I love their healthy and innovative twist on the old Italian classic, instead using angel hair pasta, smoked tofu, almond milk, roasted green beans and topped with portobello crisps. In my opinion this totally works. Obviously Chef Ruppel knows what he is doing in the vegan realm; using almond milk to create a nutty and flavourful cream sauce, a rich and smoky tasting tofu, perfectly cooked green beans to throw in some textural variety and also great shape and texture with the mound of angel hair pasta. This dish is topped with some portobello crisps and mesclun greens. The portobello crisps look great - I didn't find them really adding much flavour-wise, though. The smoked tofu had the best flavour and texture out of any I've tasted. This was a perfect lunch dish for me: healthy, light, tasty and creative.

A return trip to The Brooklyn Warehouse is certainly in the works, based on my first experience. Our service was great: friendly, confident and comfortable. The what I like to call "trendy with deliberate retro accents" interior style of the restaurant gives a vibrant disposition and a notable feel. It may just be the power of suggestion from their name, however, I do feel that their style is somewhat upscale Brooklyn diner. This tangible character paired with the buzz from the clientele (both of whom were dining there that day and those who were not) created an atmosphere that left an impression on me as notably different from other Halifax establishments. I do agree that The Brooklyn Warehouse is doing something different and I am excited that they are part of the growing slow and local food movement in our city.

Lunch, Brunch, Dinner and Drinks! The Brooklyn Warehouse is cool as a cucumber with its svelte interior and much talked about menu. This North End joint has been getting quite the buzz with all its recent Coast fame, and as spot I'd wanted to try for a while, I recently took the plunge.

Great atmosphere. This place separates itself from preceded restaurant paradigms to offer something fresh and authentic. The mood is cool, casual, relaxed and chic. Patrons will find that BW is a spot to provide mass appeal without jeopardizing integrity.

Yes, there is a lot of meat here. Meat to make my skin crawl. But I can appreciate the variety of dietary preference, and I was pleased with the veggie and fish options listed on the menu. Expert salads, vegan specials, heavy meats and even mac & cheese are all provided under one roof.

I went for the Carbona this time around, which was a pasta dish with smoked tofu, almond milk, green beans and portobello crisps. Well worth the $11 price tag, this was a lovely meal with solid presentation.  It was something I haven't had before, and as I delved into my meal, it all added to this new and exciting culinary experience.

I'd like to try brunch here sometime. With the given atmosphere and vegan pancakes, why not? They offer all the classics with, I'm assuming, the same refined touch as I received during my meal.

Great service by the owners themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will gladly go back.

I've had one Brooklyn Warehouse experience and I have to say I was impressed. My boyfriend decided to treat me to a meal, and when I suggested checking this place out he was hesitant. He'd been to the Brooklyn Warehouse before and knew that dinner is an expensive meal here. We decided to live outside out means an go for it anyway.

The dining area is usually dimly lit and the color palette make you feel like you are eating in some high end cabin. The service was good, our waitress listed off specials with ease and was really quick getting our food and drinks. I ordered a dish that was clearly too fancy for me to afford, and enjoyed every bite. The arctic Char, which I've never tried before really turned be onto seafood dishes, so any seafood lovers should check it out.

Hot Hint: The infamous Brooklyn Burger (the pride and glory of Brooklyn Warehouse) was ranked the number 1 burger in 2009's The Coast "Best of Food's" ranking.

A couple girlfriends and myself popped into Brooklyn Warehouse earlier this week around noon to try out the lunch menu.

I can't say I was all that impressed. The haddock in my fish and chips was oily and also portioned quite small, especially for $12.

Brooklyn Warehouse seems to be committing one of the more typical restaurant snafus in that they seem to have pared their staff down to the bare bones for winter. The restaurant immediately filled up more or less around 12:30 (predictable, no?) and the two servers working ran around madly trying to get to everyone... some of the little things are naturally left out when this occurs ie: more coffee, ketchup, etc.

Needless to say I don't think i'll be back for lunch anytime soon. Head in for a laid back meal if you don't have anywhere to be in the afternoon. Avoid the fish and chips.

I love this place. The food, the atmosphere, the service - fantastic. I've had lunch, brunch, and dinner here at various times, and never had a dish that wasn't delicious. The Caesar salad, for example, is something I now crave regularly - served as an intact romaine heart with a delicious dressing worked into the leaves, with pancetta and curls of fresh parmesan draped on top. Their classic Eggs Benny - also delicious.

The space is small, but fun and arty. Outdoor patio during the summer, although it's mere steps away from the rather dull and traffic-y atmosphere of Windsor Street.

I highly recommend the Mill Street Organic Lager, always served nice and cold.

It's wonderful to have such a great casual dining restaurant in the neighborhood. Even better when they really source their ingredients close to home. I've often bumped into the owners at the Saturday market ordering up lamb at Wool 'n Hart for their spectacular award winning burgers (The Coast - "Best of Awards).

The service is always friendly and the staff always seem to really enjoy working there.  And I love the range of people who also frequent this place.  It's great for people watching - young families (even toddlers are welcome), business folks conducting meetings over  a meal - how could one not be open to closing a deal?   Couples sharing a little romance with their meals, students working on assignments or reading...

Dinner, with great wine selections always change with the seasons, but my favorite is still the Steak Frites and for brunch, I find it hard to choose between the grilled cheese - 3 little pigs version Brother's Smoked Back Bacon, House-Cured Pork Belly, and Prosciutto or the two eggs (I like mine poached and they always turn out perfectly runny ) with roasted mushrooms, home fries and sour dough toast.

My husband hardly ever strays from the burger.

Props for their use of local ingredients and delicious flavour combinations; anyone who serves up apples and cheese together is okay by me, because it is truly food of the gods. I have a friend who complains about how this place tries to be New York-y, but frankly I didn't even notice, so I had no chance to be bothered by it. What I noticed was a tasty salad, "casually paced" service and a pretty good beer selection. My boyfriend and I had a great late lunch here on a summer afternoon and I look forward to going back.

This is a nice offering in an area without much in the way of restaurants. Its like a European bistro (although the owners are Greek) with a varied and reasonably priced menu. One of my favourite spots for brunch, especially in warmer weather when the patio is open.
